Or, what if YOU'RE a large horny black man? Could you then get out of prison via an insanity plea because you were explaining things to yourself too much?

You could try adding the address of the plugin download to your hosts file so they literally can't download it. Of course they could still bring it in on cd or something, but most people won't think of that, and you're counting on security through obscurity anyways. By the way, why are you blocking chatzilla?

If you really need the power, wait about what....half a year, 9 months? and get a p5 when they come out, I believe they'll be running at 5-7 ghz, which should be more than adequate for whatever you're doing now...and unless you're running a render farm or something, I don't see why you'd need that kind of speed. Wait, spend the money if you need, but 64 bit I'd say is a no go for now. Not enough apps can take advantage of it.

  7. mail2world on Which Webmail Service Do You Use? · · Score: 1

www.mail2world.com works great for me, and has for well over a year now. varying mail domains, with mail2 being the only constant among them, great service...although their servers are a bit slow sometimes...but they do always warn of downtime, and I've never had any mail dropped.

  9. Re:Legality vs. Common Sense on The Ethics of Stealing Wireless Bandwidth? · · Score: 2, Interesting

The problem with the open door analogy, is that if someone steals things from your house or car, you no longer have them. Downloading through someone else's network does not cost them anything. Sure, if they were for some reason using all their bandwidth at that point you might cause a bit of lag, but then again, if they were using that much bandwidth, you wouldn't get a 200kb/s download. The only complication is if, like ewhenn said, their bandwidth usage is metered. In that case its wrong unless you pay them whatever miniscule ammount it cost.

So just because it is "a major undertaking to convert" we shouldn't do it? Are we to keep saying that just because its too much work it shouldn't be done at all? I know most of use here are lazy, but come on, it doesn't all have to be done at once. Start in the brainwashing facilities the US calls schools, and work your way up. And the imperial system IS less usefull. Like you said, it can be annoying to work with, and since most of the world uses metric, it makes unit communication a pain too. Just convert and be done with it.

The other problem with my service, is that I never know what speeds I DO get. Sometimes it'll feel like 3mgdown/256k up...other times it acts lke 56k. And this is independent of how long/what os my machine has been running. Nor is this affected by who else is using the line and how much of hte bandwidth. Oh, and one other thing, it's got a habbit of going down randomly. It just disconnects and then comes back up.

The Greatest Trick the devil ever pulled was making the wold believe that he doesn't exist. But if its not seen as the enemy, and it really is, then they get their foot in the door by convincing everyone to try it, because, after all, its not the enemy, so why not try it out? ..then once their foot is in the door they'll dump gallons of feces in the form of rights loss on every user. I'm well aware that Microshaft relases code not much better than 1000 monkies at 1000 typewriters, but I can't deny that they're devilishly good in the business world, evil maybbe, but I won't deny their effectiveness.
