If the Microsoft monopoly were really broken up by forcing software companies to port their code/drivers to another OS or standard for working on all operating systems then I would think Linux would get a big boost but so would other operating systems. Before eveyone jumps on me , think about this, Microsoft owns the monopoly but software(and Hardware) companies are co-conspirators. They don't give any other operating system a chance. The DOJ(dep. of justice) didn't do the job, period ! The verdict was a joke.
And the Firefox developers aren't even trying to fix the bugs people want fixed. Like the bug about needing a "FAST BACK BUTTON" like in opera (has over 100 votes at bugzilla and they wont fix it) or even a rewind.
The Netcraft toolbar type addon which tells you which country a website is from is a good idea. Another idea would be to allow you to report malicious websites and report on history of commercial websites that steal your money.
Why not outsource a job that alot here in the U.S. don't want. We do this with food.
Sally Struthers is always asking for money for poor countries. How about export some grunt jobs and let them fix their own economy and we will have someone to export to.
Companies want cheap labor. Workers want higher wages. This story is analogy for all sectors of the economy.
One interesting event would be a new graphical/A.I. type programming language that would make programming more like 'manufacturing' cars using robotics.
Someone needs to write these tools and the advantage is back to GOOD ole USA(yeah).
Another situation that might effect this whole 'shipping jobs' to countries with lower wages is that INDIA still has trade barriers from what I understand.
Trade is 2 way folks. If we are going to lose some meaningless grunt jobs then we can sell food , computer games and TSUNAMI detectors.
An engineering group from Toyota Motorsport in the USA prepared the car by changing the gear ratios (4.32:1 to 3.2:1) and increasing the inverter voltage from 500 to 550 volts. A transmission cooling system was added to decrease the temperature of the inverter and electric motor to maximise efficiency. Ambient temperature on the salt flats was nearly 100 degrees Fahrenheit with nearly 100 degrees humidity. Ice was added between runs to keep the system cool.
The interior of the car was stripped to save weight, a roll cage added for safety and the whole car lowered by five inches to improve the aerodynamics for this highly specialised record attempt. Even the 26 in front and 25 in rear tyres were made especially by Goodyear.
Yes , i had the flying helicopter, evil knievel, led spaceship and played alot of with the rest at the toy store.
This list has some I haven't seen before. I have to think with the writing being 'english-centric' that alot of these toys sold in England. I think a U.S. list would be close. The escape from Clodestak(whatever) game was eye opening.
Suppose your unemployed with no money and riding your bike one day and car doesn't see you and hits you breaking many bones and puts you in critical situation. Someone takes you to the hospital and they ask you for cash on the spot or they wont admit you.
Thankfully not in this country. Maybe you don't like that law either. It's definitely a money loser.
Allowing a few corporations to control most of the spectrum and most of broadband is 'wrong'. They have crossed the line in allowing monopolies. We have less choices everyday. What next ? Get rid of PBS and use those frequencies for another shopping channel ? That i want to see.
It's a time consuming process that equals expensive product. The prices will never come down to our liking. Even projection screens haven't come down to the $500 dollar level. I have seen some for around $800-900. All of these technologies are not cheap to manufacture.
There is one hope SED flat panel displays. Slash did an article a week ago. These use nonexpensive manufacturing processes but they wont be out for some time.
What they say they need is not what they really want. They want Chinese slave labor prices. There is no pride in hiring American anymore. Where is Lou Dobbs(cnn) and his list of outsourcers ?
How much is all of this about increasing stock value ?
Why don't we instead 'ORGANIZE' and fight the political system that is against us with their big corporate cronyism campaigns with traditional protests?
We should be fighting for Fiber to the curb with municipal broadband and 100 megabit access to the net. We are being pushed around like 'slaves' . I am sick and damn tired of it.
Doesn't anyone understand that whats going on with broadband is a microcosm of our 'EVIL' political-corporate system.
When will one person in the media stand up against the cable monopolies and tell them that what they are doing by preventing municipal broadband is wrong.

Has got to be REAL superfast broadband.
.
The cable companies CAN'T and WONT deliver it. I am talking about higher than 100 megabits/sec.
Imagine a billion HDTV channels and no more installing operating systems.
No more needing to even buy a computer because of distributed networking. You will buy supercomputer time for tough projects.
All this will never occur because municipal fiber to the curb has been killed by stupids in government and their cronies in the private markets.

A hybrid might ease us into all optical chips.
Why is everyone dropping this field ? Quantum is way off in the distance and so is spintronic.
Using optical buses would reduce wiring complexity too.
yes. download opera to compare.

Why do we have these anymore ?
Why don't the people at Monopolysoft start using more secure libraries with visual c/c++ ?
Performance hits are worth it.

I use to fear shipping jobs but not anymore.

Now you understand the greater good.

He's just a republican lackey.
.
I don't know what he's contributed
Affordable broadband ? I don't see it. He's stopped competition in that industry.
He's 'DESTROYED' radio with monopolies like Clear Channel.
So here's a toast to those that think everything should be allowed by corporate america without regard of the greater public good.
I don't like the idea of Darpa money going to this project.Does anyone know how much he got ?
There is no mention if it can even move. I searched for mpegs.
I looked on there for music and movies and the only thing i could see was 'Kill Bill'.
There is no reasonble way to search freenet.
So I too am looking for ISO's that will fit on them.
,have not tried.
Damnsmalllinux
my cd-rw are only 650 variety.
The knoppix iso needs 680. The hell if I know how to do an FTP install . Anyone do those ?

The poor programmers could always band together and form their own gaming company.

not a website. it's a program.
uses anonymouse filesharing.
