    Trying others. Google is way too spammed with commercial sites in their finds.

    Their technology is very low tech to me.

    We need more parallel processing applications. We need to drop the intel isa architecture(heat,effectiveness).

    The reason why we use AMD and Intel is because of applications are all intel isa based. We need effective parallel processing compilers . Who cares about word processing software that might get slowed down . Graphics,mathematics and sciences,and supercomputing will get a BIG BOOST.

    What is special about 186,000 mph ?

    Parallel processing is nothing new but this chip sounds like Professor Dally's custom stream processor, the Merrimac He lectured congress on the need of a vector/streaming processor supercomputer because the current supercomputers are inefficient. His Stanford website. Description of cell sounds just like his processor. Even the drawings. The only differene is the location of memory. He makes the point that memory should accessed fast and installed on the chip. That's whats different between the two.

    Linux is becoming easier to use with more distributions making the desktop their target but there is one problem and that is nearly 100 % of the software still out there being built just for Microsoft. The government did LITTLE to stop this monopoly . They needed to force the software makers to make a alternative to all their software that is Posix/Linux compatible .

    Another IDEA would be for a DECOMPILER. IF there were really a good decompiler then you could run alot of windows software.

    WiFi can be longer range . Look up Mesh WiFi.

    A temporary WiFi like Cell tower could be very portable and doesn't have to be stationary but could be on a van.

    Ham , wifi and Cellphone are all just radio waves and all have different strengths but in my opinion the one that uses the airwaves most efficiently and can be setup fast and repaired quickly is probably WiFi.

    Directional WiFi is not just a few miles. During the 9-11 terrorist attacks cellphones still worked. And there was an article on slash about new emergency temoporary cell phone towers. Trying to use HAM may work for a just a few but would be mess if you had to deal with massive numbers of people. So if we could establish satellite ,long distance mesh Wifi,a nd cellphone like wifi then that would be more useful in my opinion. Ham is good for limited use but not for the real world anymore. It's radio and radio will be disappearing in the near future too.

    Would be better if we if we had a high-speed wireless network using WiFi phones . An alternative to cellphones is needed. We could construct one if we could contsruct cheap broadcast towers . I am not sure on distance of WiFi though .

    Why not let them upload movies to your computer instead of renting a dvd in person? Have a program make sure there are no copies and will delete the downloaded material after check out time has expired.

    This could really help out BOTH sides. The libraries would need to upgrade their collection .

    Not taking shit from the Bell co. and their attempt to monopolize broadband.

    We need communities to follow her example. Broadband shopping is not like buying a car. It's an investment in infrastructure just like roads and electric plants. This is what the 'RIGHT WINGERS' don't want you to know. They reply with propoganda that government will only hurt broadband when in fact most monopolies of this countries have been private companies.

    I see the Bill Gates , Carnegies , Rockefellers and other criminal monopolists as an excellent analogy to whats going on here.

    They are trying to crush competition ! They don't want poor folk to get broadband because it cuts into profit margin !

    What's even funnier is that the government created the first network .

    And even funnier is that the phone company hated the internet because it cut into their long distance business. Now they say they care about the consumer. BULLSHIT !
