    let's see, the topic is federal police collecting massive amounts of personal data bypassing constitution, and the administration plans on making that info available to... well, undefined entities (read: whoever pays). troubling seems kind of disproportionate here. ...but then again, it's your country.

    while often great, automatic targeted ads. often seem completely off-base or even insensitive.

    I guess that's the difference between artificial intelligence and the real thing. You notice AI when it's not working good enough. That's what makes the future kinda scary, because one day you won't notice any difference.

    Not sure if that will be because of improved AI or deteriorating Human Intelligence, though.

    How did this ever even become a controversy? Isn't the internet as we know it an outgrowth and result of DARPA work?

    Interesting point of view that actually qualifies as flamebait; suggestion: you keep the DARPA network and the rest of the Internet will disconnect, ok? No more controversy. That was easy.

    Most of the major ISPs have already rolled support for IPv6.

    depends on where you are I guess. I saw a list of AS connected to Germany's DE-CIX today, and it states that only some of the peering ISPs support IPv6. btw, DE-CIX was down today, and hardly anyone noticed ;)

    I have one of these - while the tilt sensors are really great (insert numerous expressions of over-excitement) in racing games, it's utterly useless in FPS or other games. I wonder if Nintendo will solve the accuracy problem usually associated with tilt sensors in gamepads...

    Comcast (for example) provides access to a network (the Internet) that it knows is being used for piracy.

    Why not go all the way: as we all know, terrorists and criminals like to use the telephone to plan or execute their crimes. Telcos obviously support that with their infrastructure and services, so they must be punished / shut down. Their network is designed to commit crimes, with all the cellphones and anonymous public phones...

    can't possibly eat as much as I want to puke...

    My bet is they didn't choose the right people

    FTFA: After they had learnt their lesson, they designed a pretty good system with the second version of the MCPX - but the implementation still contained at least three security holes

    so, my bet is they just aren't clever enough.
