here's another one: indy "plays songs, you rate what you hear. Indy quickly learns what you like and gets really smart about sending you more music you'll like." (Win/Mac/Linux). When I tried it about a year ago, they didn't have enough songs, though...
Please mod up. The AC is right, even the most recent Opera version still identifies itself as IE. That's a clever move, because IE figures are always too high because of this and Opera can claim that their user base is actually a lot larger.
"The "Berlin Declaration" calls for an indirect compensation that has been time-tested for private copying since decades. Users would pay a flatrate for the right to share, and the online collecting society would pay authors and publishers according to the measured use of their works - without setting up a surveillance-system such as mandatory for Digital Rights Management (DRM)."
That would be even more ridiculous than the concept itself; compare with the phone network:
as a customer, you can expect that you can call people/services and that they can call you. If your telco says (or you just notice) that calling your bank is possible, but you may experience bad voice quality and dropped connections because the bank refuses to pay for "using" the network (i.e. for a call you already paid for!) and they also might have a hard time calling you because of that, would you accept that?
Would you ask you bank to pay your telco or would you rather get a "real" phone line?
Or how about "Delivery failed; your ISP refuses to compensate us for the traffic they are causing, so we no longer accept mail from your domain." *shakes head*
not sure. I placed this next to the output plug of my first electric guitar (which is terribly noisy and all switches and plugs are worn out). Didn't help at all; doesn't look cool, either.
A Behringer sticker on the back helped a lot more (keeps the cable plugged in), and the girls particularly like the neck sticker that says "Choose 3 of your favorite songs and save BIG!"
Right. And what else would you expect from a Microsoft product? It's not only not a bug but a feature, it also makes any Windows User feel at home right from the start!

In other words, it's neat, but useless. So far.
worth mentioning again: just one more reason to finally get rid of the music industry as we know it and rebuild it our way.
He's probably one of the unfortunate people who had bought one of these CDs. *shudders*
here you go. They must all be IT staff...
