There are 60 or so chemical elements found in every person on the planet, almost all of which can be "toxic". The 5 'symptoms' listed are all pretty common. I would bet you'd be hard pressed to find a household that hasn't had someone with 1 or all of them at some point in any given 12 month period...
While your educated upper middle class white guy probably doesn't see much use for a large library there are a lot of people that do.
I recommend you go to a small town library and see how it's being used. My wife is a librarian at our local library, and I'm always surprised how many people are there when I go in to see her. There are kids using meeting rooms for school projects, people using the computers to fill out applications for jobs, and there's always at least a few people interspersed between the racks just browsing or even sitting on the floor reading something they've found. The local knitters club meets there once a week and last I checked there were about a dozen volunteers for the literacy program teaching people to read at various times of day depending on when their "student" is available.
Fortunately, our community values our library so she gets a lot of local support, but I'm sure there are people in our community like yourself who see something that they don't/won't use as a giant waste or prime real estate or something...
Perhaps the cost of owning a Tesla should include lost wages from quitting your job to go to school to get an EE degree, tearing down your existing home, and rebuilding a new one and doing all the wiring yourself so you can sleep at night not worrying about the charger for your new car starting a fire and burning you and your family alive.
D3 was the fastest selling PC game of all time and didn't just break PC sales records, it destroyed them. But yeah, other than that I can see why you'd think it would cause blizzard to fail...
I'd be more interested if it were broken down by how many books the respondent read in the last year. I've found a correlation with non-readers and hate for ebooks. Why should anyone care about the opinion of someone who can't name 2 books they've actually read in the last 12 months?
I've read the article several times and can't find any mention of them being pro-Israel. It seems like the only real "Israeli" connection is that Jewish people were the targets of a scam and did the right thing and alerted authorities...
The question I want to know is would it be better in my later years for my to have never been vaccinated for the flu? Does getting the flu every few years when I'm young and healthy give me a better immune system to handle it when I'm older. I completely understand vaccinating people who are at risk of serious illness against the flu, but less convinced that we should be forcing this upon the healthy when it doesn't give the same long term benefit as traditional vaccines. From what I understand the current flu outbreak isn't even a strain that is included in the current vaccine.
I gave the Nexus 7 a try just because I wanted more "choice", then found out that about a 3rd of the apps from google play were "not compatible with this device" and the app I wanted most, firefox with adblock, wouldn't let me browse more than a few pages without crashing to the desktop. Honestly, widgets are cool, but not enough to pull me away from a working product, so back to IOS I went.
So are you arguing that you should divorce Social Security benefits from what people pay in? Or would that be just for "rich" people? Under our current system if you make the "rich" pay in more and you'll have to pay them more too, and since they have better access to health care and tend to live healthier they tend to live longer and this will collect even more...
Yeah, why would there be much costs associated with regulating everything a person ever does from their first breath to their last!?!? Nope, that's gonna be super cheap! Haha
At least fossil fuel producers have something to trade for my $$$, Al Gore wants me to pay just for the privilege of breathing...
It was always funded. It would really be interesting to know if the lines of embryonic stem cells that Bush funded research were involved in these experiments . I'd be willing to bet that even if this research wasn't actually funded during the Bush years it built on embryonic stem cell research that was...

Any chance we'll see external video cards now?

Are you generating power by throwing money into a furnace to fuel a steam engine?

Where do you think the money for your "free" healthcare and other social programs comes from?
The strains of weed being sold today are very different than what was used even 50 years ago.

So it's not freedom of speech you don't agree with, it's freedom of association?

I love it. Lawsuit regarding a stupid law in very liberal states and it's the republicans fault...

more motivated students get higher grades. News at 11.
All of the examples you give are closer to a razor and blade business model I think.
