How about letting the comments extend to the left edge of the screen.
That is not something the new design has introduced. It has always been like that.

Nobody has ever gone to their deathbed saying "I wish I'd spent more time at the office."
Actually, John Calvin sort of did. From Wikipedia:
Towards the end [of his life] Calvin said to those friends who were worried about his daily regimen of work, "What! Would you have the Lord find me idle when He comes?"
Dude, the key issue here is responsibility. If somebody overdoses himself, his death it's his responsibility. If an astronaut dies in a NASA mission, then its NASA and the million of American taxpayers who are responsible.
La-di-da.

How sad.
I'm NOT giving up my old Mac for free.
Apple should pay me good cash, or a decent discount on a new Mac (say over 30%) if they want to keep my old Mac.
"For free" in this case isn't necessarily a good thing.
The word "astronaut" is not reserved to United States nationals like the word "cosmonaut" is reserved to Russians.
An "astronaut" is any person who is trained to travel in a spacecraft.

Completely offtopic. Submit this as a Slashdot story maybe and you'll get FAR more attention. If I had mod points I'd mod this Off-Topic.
It's not the destination; it's the journey.
Wrong. The firewall is off by default.
you've just Slashdotted yourself for another 7 hours.
Congratulations!
The US builds nuclear weapons and the world does nothing.
Some third world country is suspected of building nukes and the world screams for condemnation, and the US is ready to invade it.
Who is going to save the world from the US?

In Soviet Russia, Soyuz replaces you!
With the Mac OS X client, you can only cap the upload bandwidth, not the download bandwidth.
Which means that BT will hose my bandwidth whenever I use it.
7,000/45 = $155 U.S. dollar a week
7,000x52/45 = $8,041 U.S. dollar a year

A succulent dinner for two: ~ a dollar 10 cents
Mars Express is the ESA mission, not NASA's.
YES!
Time to swallow your own words MICRO$OFT!
So you wanted choice, huh, Micro$oft?
I don't think you know the meaning of that word.
that was scary...
