The article was talking about forest fires in Indonesia.
The fires might have been started by humans, but we were not the cause. The drought and resulting dried vegetation led to the fires. If no man had ever set foot in Indonesia, those forest fires would probably have happened anyway.
How can we take responsibilty for that? What could we have done differently?
Nokia releases their really cool phones here in the U.S., they just release them a year later than the rest of the world when they are no longer new and cool.
Actually, look for the 7210 and 3650 on sale in the very near future.
Well UI is subjective, but I really like my tivo's. I also have an UltimateTV, and it's terrible. The Directivos do have two tuners, but Tivo service costs $5/month unless you get the premium package with all the movie channels, then it's free.
If you like the Dish PVR, stick with it, but I can't imagine not having my Tivo.
Hey if you like your Dish PVR, you'll love the DirectTV Tivo.
And another thing. Why are all the Dish people for the merger, and all the DirecTV people against it? Is DirecTV that much better? I for one am very happy this merger did not go through. (and I am a DirecTV customer)
Yep, the Directv Tivo has 2 "tuners", so it can record two shows at once. Or you can watch a show and record another. Or you can record two shows at once and watch a third previously-recorded show.
The solution to your problem is to get Directv. Unfortunately, it may not be possible where you live.
Did I mention that you can extract video from Directivo and burn it on dvd. (If you happen to have a DVD burner in your computer)
Last time I checked, the ROC is a completely seperate government than the PRC, thus politically indepedent.
(Bejing current has no authority over Taiwan)
Didn't some company(I'm thinking it was panasonic) just come out with a tivo-like device with a DVD burner? Where you record the shows you like on the hard drive, and if you wanna keep them, you burn a disk.
I dunno.
1. buy an ethernet card for your Tivo http://9thtee.com/
2. Install it, and the software that comes with it
3. Add the module noscramble.o (find it on the dealdatabase.com forums)
4. Install TyTool on your computer to extract the mpeg-2 video to your PC(find it on the aforementioned forums)
After all, as long as you are not breaking any laws, she doesn't have to love you or like what I do for a living.

Wha?
Not to metion Sierra fired all the programmers as soon as the game was released.
Now they just need an option to turn off Flash. I don't have it installed because of all the annoying ads in Flash.
Is MacOSX slow?
or
Are Macs slow?
They'll just jack up the price of the cable boxes to make up for any lost revenue.
Kinda like some cars have scoops on their hoods, eh?
But the question we really want answered is "How many outhouses have Tivos?"
In case you haven't noticed, the 10th admendment isn't really enforced anymore.
Marketing people use a different dictionary than the rest of us.

Actually the Pegasus(rural) people pay more for DirecTV service than regular DirecTV customers.

Maybe the slashdot computers aren't Y2K compliant.
I haven't been hearing many good things about Wal-Mart's corporate ethics lately.
