Well, the NFL is afraid that users will take adavantage of this to avoid "blackouts", when the NFL does not allow local broadcast of a game because not enough tickets were sold. (As if that really affects ticket sales)
If this could work in real time, somebody could get a buddy of theirs in another city to send the game to them, and avoid the stupid blackout. I guess that is what scares the NFL.
Cell Providers have generators to keep their switches up. It's not a regulation, just good business. Every minute service is down is a minute they make no money.
Just wait until World of Warcraft comes out. Those guys at Blizzard are really good with the Mac support. I am in the beta and it runs beautifully on my G5. The Windows version has no special benefits, and we play in the same world together.
