Seems better to have a separate dedicated machine that runs the scripts and monitors everything and send email alerts that you can receive on your phone.
I have always purchased nVidia cards soley because I knew that they provided linux drivers. Lately though, the drivers don't seem to work quite right. Might be getting to be about time for me to give ATI a go.
I agree. There's no registered thief list. Or registered drug dealer list. I think sex offenders are unfairly tagged. With a list of registered offenders e-mail's and IM's, they won't just monitor (everyone gets monitored). I suspect places like MySpace will lock down all tagged accounts reguardless if inappropriate activity has taken place or not. "Will somebody think of the children!?".
Ever search the database for offenders in your neighborhood? You were probably surprised to find that there was some. But keep in mind, most people on that list are not stalking children on the playground. As parent said, if they were deemed a threat to society, they would be in custody.
Example might be.... 18 year boy falls in love with 15 year old girl (and they make a little whoopy). Girls mom finds out and presses charges. Boy is now a sex offender. How is this boy a danger to you or anyone? Why should he be tagged? Why should his neighbors be lead to believe he's going to rape their children?
Sometimes I think maybe I should join the army. Its basically like a FPS, just better graphics. But what happens if you get Lag out there? You're DEAD man! DEAD! -FPS Doug
They're going to release an update to the 1.5 branch that will make a pop-up box asking users if they want to upgrade to 2.0. So no, it hasn't been forced and won't be. People who have 2.0 now, have manually downloaded it themselves (like me!). And personally, I am very satisfied with 2.0. Gotta love the spell checker!
"I still cantunderstand why people get so angry about this."
Easy. Some people want to cheat. Some people want to play fair. The people who want to play fair, are robbed of that opportunity when someone cheats. That makes them angry! Cheaters argue that they're evening the playing field. Ok great. There's servers where people turn on all their hacks and cheaters can cheat all they want. Cheaters VS Cheaters is fair.
But if someone wants a strait game and someone flips on their aim bot or wall hack, it sucks! They want to play by the rules. Test their skills. Be challenged. Not turn on a hack to counteract. You obviously never have the desire to play fair, otherwise you'd clearly understand why people get angry.
"If modding were as easy as entering "cheat codes at the start screen", EVERYONE would do it."
Not true. I remember DOOM had a god mode that was pretty easy to get to. I knew it was there, I tried it out a couple of times, but never played for long with it on. What's the point? No challenge is pretty damn boring if you ask me. Might as well be shooting fish in a bucket.
I was a big netflix fan. But when all of this started, I terminated my service and sent customer service an e-mail explaining why. I had hoped netflix was a decent company, but these tactics to monopolize are pissing longtime customers off.
Is this really a good idea? I've heard stories from people on mailing lists who claim that many people are behind routers/proxies that cause IP changes very often, and that's restricting a session to an IP causes more problems than it's worth
You are correct. I read somewhere once that AOL users are on such proxies. Pissing off legitimate users are not worth the security gained.
All right Jimmy, you got that liquid armor on, it looks good... They want you to stand infront of this fireing squad, and you tell us if it hurts when they shoot ya.
Well, all right, hold my sign. I don't wanna lose it.
"Determine what the item is worth to me and pay a maximum of what others think it's worth?"
I don't follow. You're not maing what others thing its worth. You're paying at most the maximum of what you think its worth
I have gone the opposite direction. I put everything in the google cloud now, and just purchased a chromebook to get easy access to it.

I hope they would allow some means to access all older data. That would be pretty crappy if they required you to purchase all the favorites again.
What are you, some bottom-feeding, scum-sucking, algea-eater?
No, javascript isn't 100% essential. But you're fooling yourself if you think web developers are going to build sites without it.
I love the detail when you zoom in all the way on the moon
WTF does astroturfing mean?

I am addicited to Tremulous. Great game :)
In my experiances, I've found your choices on newsgroup and bittorrent are rather limited and that P2P networks tend to have a better selection.
Here is Kansas, we have a saying. "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes."
"who keep referring to things as "two-dot-oh". "
most of us pronounce it "two-point-oh"
Java has similar functionality in its PreparedStatement class.
Little paranoid are we?
