Sites like IGE never had the right to do what they did, but Sony would have a hard time getting an injunction that proved they were being damaged. There are non conductive heat transfer liquids that are non toxic that can be reliably used. The hose connections on this particular liquid cooling system also seem to be over engineered to prevent such a leak. It is just a matter of time before some of IBM's open systems power based solutions are liquid cooled.

While this argument could be used if the car wasn't producing its own Hydrogen, it cannot be used in this manner in this case. The operator of this vehicle supplies water and sunlight to fuel this car. Since water is not an energy source, and solar power is, then this car is solar powered.

The fact that it converts solar energy into electricy, into chemical energy, and into mechanical energy, instead of solar, to electrical to mechanical is irrelevant.

The step of creating hydrogen still requires electricty. Hydrogen isn't a natural resource on this planet, it must be created, and it is created via electricity. Electricity is normally created via combustion of fossil fuels, typically in plants that are not as environmentally efficient as combustion engines in cars. As a result the use of hydrogen in a car is a pipe dream, the efficiency of the conversion of electrical to chemical to mechanical energy is horrible. Electrical straight to mechanical is much more efficient. What we need is electric cars, not a car that relies on combustion of any fuel. This is nothing but a solar powered car with chemical battery.

The original poster is right. The primary energy source entering the truck is solar energy. While the engine is a combustion engine, the fuel for the truck is created via solar power. The Hydrogen tank is nothing more then a battery to store energy from the solar power. It isn't terribly efficient either, and would be more efficient if it was an electric motor instead. Except for the fact that it has two layers, and the second layer is ~ 4.7G there isn't much in common between it and a DVD-AUDIO however. DVD-AUDIO is better then the audio on a DVD-Video, but still the sample rate and range, as well as it being PCM are all inferior. I don't think there are SACD walkmans, though they would not be completly useless as there is always a seperate two channel version if there is a multichannel version. You can however play most SACD's (if they are hybrid) in a walkman. Which you can't do with DVD-Audio.

  18. Re:SACD on MPAA Sued Over DVD Screener Ban · · Score: 1

Its now a DVD based system! Though it is meant to compete with DVD-Audio. Its not PCM its DSD(Direct Stream Digital) Also many SACDs contain an actual redbook cd layer as well as the SACD layer. To read the SACD layer you need an SACD player. Haven't seen on of those for a PC yet. SACD players decode the digital signals and send out analog signals so you can't get digital to digital copies.

To prevent copying the music is encrypted based off of a key burned onto the cd which is "difficult to reproduce" So its going to be a while before people can reproduce SACDs reliably.

The best part about multichannel SACDs is after listening to them I can barely stand to listen to 2 channel music(the sacd stereo track at least sounds better then a normal CD), let alone a freaking mp3.

Now do you see why sony wants the SACD format? :)

NVIDIA's track record is already to make high quality drivers, now whenever they make a Windows driver the Linux driver will be right there with it because 95 percent of the code base is now shared.

This is a brilliant move to hurt ATI were there problem is .....drivers... one ATI's drivers suck, they don't update them across all cards at the same time, and they surely don't update them across all supported platforms at the same time. Guess what NVIDIA now can.

Now if NVIDIA were to release their code ATI wouldn't have to decompile it and scratch their heads trying to figure out exaclty how to compete they would have the freaking code.

NVIDIA has a unified driver for all of their cards, for all of the platforms now so that you know that all of their cards will always work with the latst drivers, the operating systems they support and so on. Good luck finding that for ATI, and I for one don't think that NVIDIA should hand them the code on a platter just because people want everything in Linux to be open source. Sometimes vendor support is just as important.
