I agree with your suspcion,, especilally with the look of surface of the alleged TDA, along with the lighting in some of the photos looks quite edited.. I'd never spend $100 let alone $600-$1000 for one of these until i'd seem some reviews on reputable websites, showing that not only work, but that they even exist...
Doesn't using the fingers leave marks on the screen? - Yes, our fingers do leave marks on the screen. So do our cheeks, when we use our mobile phone.
- We need to clean the screen from time to time, just like we clean our eyeglasses.
- However, these marks can be useful, as they reduce unwanted glare. - In practice, we don't need to clean the screen very often.
Hrm, to me this sounds just a little bit silly, after reading this, i'm beginning to think this product could be really, and the people at NOVINIT just have absolutley have no concept of marketing....... even if this is a scam, i really don't think this point would be a wise one to include:S
It doesn't appear they've proofread much of thier translation.. by the very nature of how the French language works, with masculin as the default (ie. a group of 60 females and 2 males would roughly translate from French into English as "a group of guys," I highly doubt that it was thier intention to snub females, but rather a side effect of the translation process. It's thier intentions on what they actually plan to ship to the people who pay the $100 or 100 euros.......
As for the image header, isn't it possible they used say a 35 mm camera for the original photos and scanned them, did some colour correction in photoshop, then saved it for the web?? the header just means it's not straight off of a digital camera... although if the latter is true, that is most suspcious...
Geez, at least they fixed you phone service... My local telco charged us for a month of DSL service that we never received, and forced us to pay if we wanted to continue our service (they're the only hispeed ISP in the area).. they finally realized they were wrong, so they sent us a general prewritten apology letter and a $5 gift certificate for tim hortons!! no refund for the $20 or so overcharge!!:@
I've had several similar incidents with open box things bought from my local FutureShop, however, upon speaking with the manager, they always replaced it with a better, new model. which is really interesting, because bestbuy owns futureshop if i'm not mistaken:S... So I think it must be entirely upto which specific location you visit...
I agree with thier view the customer is not always right,,, they just have to be a little better at telling when that is....
The worst thing i've done so far, is install a floppy drive in a computer (not mine) and hooked the cheap un-notched floppy cable upside down.... assuming i always do things right the first time (bad idea) i put in the 1st floppy for the OS install (original, not backed up, not mine) as soon as i turned the power on,,, I knew what had happened... the floppy drive light was on non stop, and I got an A drive failure from the bios. I swapped the cable around... but it was too late, it was horribly corrupt:(, Whenever i feel i've never been so stupid, I always look back to this moment...
What about the ATI RF remote control, a bit pricy, but it's a very effective mouse too... you can use the directional pad as a joystick like tool to guide your cursor, seems much more natural for a HTPC to me...
I agree with you to a point... but with the range of bluetooth,, i think their suggestion of IR is a good one. While IR is directional, it tends to have a much better range than bluetooth in my experience...
I've got a phillips IR keyboard, i don't think it was originnally intended for standard PC use,, some buttons had proprietry labels (no numeric pad), but i fixed the labels,, it works nicely,, plus you can program a learning remote to it, and program the play for the the space bar,, very handy... I bought it for $20 from a flea market... the mouse however, i was less lucky... i'm currently using a serial trackball sitting on my coffee table. It works quite well, i made a 40 foot extension cable, and thanks to the low speed of a serial line it works perfectly... the cable runs all the way along the wall to the couch,, then under the couch and up onto the table, kind of tacky,, but extremely effective...
At my work(a wendy's), we have old NCR cash registers, complete with green on black screens (using composite video input) and dot matrix printers... the system has only crashed once in like 4 years, running 24/7, 365. It seems to me that every company who made good products just died as soon as it came to adding graphics:S
I've never had anyone at the bank even suggest anything to me, if the bank wants to sell something they usually hire telemarketers, because they mostly trying to attract new customers...
So far as i know,, I think most of them are just serial dumb terminals that connect to a server over the phone line attached to a printer and money dispenser through serial ports... almost no specialty hardware. you can run a serial connection on almost anything...
o man... i'm almost considering switching banks to get away from the colourful evil ATMs, and going to the one remaining bank in my area that still has the nice simple text only screen:S..
Holy Shi* dude, that's the craziest rant i've ever seen! it's from a credit card commercial, no one's being made fun of.... take a valium, a bottle for that matter, and calm down before your veins pop or something:S
I did this by accident a while back by making a typo in partioning software,, the results ended up in about 2 times more space reported, about 0 times of that usable, I ended up losing everything on the one partition when I tried to install an OS on the second... had to delete all the partitions and start again.
In the old days,, you have to pull 2 chips off your motherboard, put them under UV, then use an external writer to write them:P, If this was still the case,, I don't think anyone would stand for the updates.. Personnally I don't mind updating my devices, except it's usually so damn hard to find the updates.. I just spend 2.5 hours finding the update for my pine MP3 player,, the US site didn't carry the correct version:S
That's interesting.. I live in Canada, and my cell phone service actually sent me a letter in the mail saying there was an important upgrade available (didn't say what it was, but phone was still working good..) and gave a list of it's stores that would upgrade it for me for free...
Note the article mentions it depends where you stand, as your a much better ground than the lights. If this is indeed true,, you stealing just as much energy by standing under them as a few lights would be, now think about a crowd? is standing under hydro lines theft?? If so, they should really put up some decent fences, If I left a pack of batteries in the middle of a field, and someone cameby and picked them up, you could hardly say they were stolen...
I like this better, my PS is already overloaded with 4 internal drives and 2 burners, plus my cpu & video cards, all PCI slots filled, 5 extra case fans in addition to the 3PS ones plus cpu, plus all my damned blue LEDs that keep me awake at night, plus my USB devices. It doesn't leave much room for external hard drives.
So far I haven't been able to find a power supply bigger than 550 watts. If anyone knows of one, let me know,
Beh! I'd settle for no lead on the outside of my electronics! I bought a Saitek gamepad last week (the only nice looking one in the mall..) and when I got it home and opened it up, I saw a nice yellow label warning me that that handling the cable would expose me to lead, and that I should wash my hands everytime I touch it. I honestly don't mind washing my hands after working on circuit boards. A game pad cable is completly a different matter, especially with kids using it, etc. I don't even understand how it would've gotten there in the first place:S

why don't i use preview?? i don't know....

hmm... i wonder how hard it would be to create some sort of program using the on-screen keyboard that'd get it to spit out some cash :P
