it is truly a sad day. Heck I expected Utah to do this...not Kansas.
Anyways, now people can claim the theory of why people from Kansas are numbskulls: intelligent design.
O man...the irony of it too.
and didn't a lot of ivy league universities such as Berkeley, Harvard, etc. turn down students who were otherwise qualified if their biology class wasn't really biology but theology?
Wonder if the state of Kansas has those private school vouchers so kids can go to private schools instead of public schools so their futures aren't tarnished?
sooner or later, we might even see Microsoft getting into the music biz by starting their own recording label...of course, CD's from them will be buggy.
Heck, they are even getting into the movie biz with the upcoming Halo movie.
oops...meant to type "lap" not "laptop"...well I guess "lap top" is ok too.
but some times....the purpose of a notebook/laptop is portability...like u are on the bus or train or somewhere and there's no counter-top or table-top and u have to use your lap....
anyways...laptops are nice...but I don't expect it to replace desktops...and I don't expect desktops to replace laptops either...it's like the same reason why a multi-tool hasn't replaced non-multitools yet...aka...the reason why the gatorgrip thing on TV hasn't caused everyone to stop buying Craftsman tool sets.
of course, because of the price factor of laptops/notebooks, ppl don't tend to upgrade or replace that often compared to desktops where many parts from a desktop can be reused (like the monitor for one).
"...user demand for the one thing it can't deliver -- mobility."
But desktops can deliver a few things that mobiles can't....like not burning your laptop...and the best bang for the buck performance as well as upgradability...though mini-agp and soon to be mini-pcie (?) will help notebooks with some of that.:p
just like there's no safe condom....even the best will break some times....it's just a matter of using one that doesn't already have a gaping hole in it.
well...maybe there's some fine print that states that although it may not crash, it can still mysteriously explode, the steering column might catch on fire, the cruise control can set ur house ablaze, or have BSOD's.
didn't they have a Tech Now show (NBC11 in the San Francisco Bay Area) that covered this like a year ago?
Anyways, I'm sure there are more expensive station wagons out there....hell...wait until Pimp My Ride gets a hold of one....or some hip-hop rapper buys a dub version with jewels and crap.
Not anymore as the courts' decision essentially says that Washington must be the one collecting the taxes....taxes of 0%. It's not the employee's fault that he works for a company in Washington but lives else where. Besides, in this sort of case, I don't think it would be tax evasion; the employee didn't try to use deceptive illegal methods to build tax-shelters (like making dummy corporations, etc.).
Too bad there's no WMV9 codec for non-Windows machines yet (macs and/or linux and that's free and OSS). (yea...I hate wmv9 too but a majority of the anime raws I get are in wmv9 [avi or wmv]).
If there was, I'd buy a mac....but toss the OS out for a refund. I like Debian with a touch of KDE.
what about the real important stuff....

IE7 Details Emerge

what about the real important stuff....like real RFC and W3C compliance and not "pseudo"? Examples: digest authentication is not implemented correctly in IE hence most webservers use a work-around to make it work, which also happens to make it not be truly digest authentication...or the fact that if u gzip-encode all files and you have zip files, IE will convienently forget that the zip file was gzipped, leaving a file that most zip programs like Windows own built-in Zip Folders can't handle (WinRAR will correctly ungzip it before processing the zip file).
Of course, alpha-blending support for PNG would be nice...as well as CSS2 support (for those dynamic pulldown menus that can be done purely in CSS).
actually, Bush can say something....like "I'll appoint some more judges who are my daddy's friends"....and just continue to appoint more and more judges causing more deadlocks and headaches.
But yea, doubtful that the US courts will promote French censorship.
hence, Canadian women lowered their expectations.
anyways....funny shit aside, this sucks for this lady.
Is there an ACLU in Canada that'll jump in and protect this lady?

This will probably lead to some sort of packet steganography and encryption which will make digital taps harder to do and "the terrorists will win."
Of course, spoofing the packets to look like non-VoIP packets might be a workaround.
It's all a cat-and-mouse game until someone files a lawsuit.
What about other Weird Al hits like "Eat it," "Rocky Road," "Smells like Nirvana," etc.?

actually I have...not just in the commercial sector but also for schools.
not all companies buy pre-made systems with super cheap and crappy parts.
really? companies are more likely to upgrade the entire system or like our company use parts from it to build "new" systems.
You can't really do that with notebooks...parts aren't that inter-swappable.
Plus an entirely new system doesn't mean that they also replace the keyboard/mice, monitor and other peripherals.
oops...meant to type "lap" not "laptop"...well I guess "lap top" is ok too.

leaky kernel, eh? So are they going to have a kernel patch for that? (linux pun).
anyways, u can always try and coat it with something to seal it.....
just think...Slime(r) for popcorn.
give it some "rubbers" and clean the rubbers once a day or something.
Or have a UV lamp sterlize the keyboard every hour....

it'll probably get a BSOD when you do that and it gets half-way done and then the option to erase disappears from the menu.
who said anything about jurisdiction? I'm talking about precedence.
you mean it WAS tax evasion.

Why pay if you can send an army of lawyers and get it for "free" (except attorney fees and a PR nightmare)?
WMP9 != WMV9
I don't like WMP7 and up, period.
Of the WMP line, 6.4 was the last good one.
But then I like using MPC.
And yes, it does matter for watching anime. Some of it is in MKV. WMP doesn't have builtin stuff to support MKV to its fullest.
Too bad there's no WMV9 codec for non-Windows machines yet (macs and/or linux and that's free and OSS). (yea...I hate wmv9 too but a majority of the anime raws I get are in wmv9 [avi or wmv]).

"Hmm....let's see...I need some lettuce in aisle 1, can soup in aisle 6, and toilet paper in aisle.....oop...BSOD"
as long as it's not as bad as the BMW 7-series WinCE BSOD horror stories....I guess we can live with it.
true...but I don't want to fuck french....I'd rather cover them with fudge....or tar...and feathers.
why do u think the french are masters in perfume/cologne making?
