I have some from 1987 that work fine as well.

Another Linux Freak!
SLS I believe it was.
Kernel 0.99b from what I recall.
30 something 3 1/2 disks, yes a monolithic kernel those were the days.
Well,
The more angles they have on detecting terrorism is not a bad thing. With all IDs requiring the recipient not to smile to prevent facial technology failures, I would expect that terrorist would just smile like crazy at places they intend on doing harm.
I use "Dihydrogen Monoxide" in my coffee, tea and its in my water too.
That mean ole sun is causing us a lot of grief too with its powerful radiation bombarding our planet.
Yes a 4 year degree is very important and shouldn't be blown off.
But one thing thats equally important as gaining knowledge, is being able to use that knowledge. There are allot of professionals out there with BS and MS degrees that are quite useless. Knowledge isn't everything, the most important thing to have is ability to use what you know. So if you are capable of using what you know then definitely shoot for at least a BS degree from a state college.
That's what I was thinking!
Seems the IT department of the Army doesn't have the budget to keep users up to date with stuff like encryption.
Of course alot of what I see is that most technician are not that sharp having only been mostly Windows admins themselves. Even the older technician I run into only know Windows and kind of remember a few DOS commands.
Paste this in Word 'DATA Error [47 0F 94 93 F4 K5]', select the charators '47 0F 94 93 F4 K5' and change the font to Wingdings. The virus harms data, and can disable mouse and keyboards.

You can create symlinks to files using cygwin's ln.exe, after they are created they work fine outside of cygwin. I have used it with Oracle tnsnames.ora files in different folders.
I totally agree, people are getting too bent out of shape over nothing. Its free and so is the Java runtime. If its not completely free as in beer, so what.
"Pentium I systems" dang I just callem pentiums. Why do we have to calle them 'Pentium I' or even 'Clasic Pentiums'. Windows 95 ran fine on a 486 if you had a 486DX 100MZ processor with 16mb of RAM.
Mozilla needs a better way to get updates to Administrators. I love the product and use it all the time at home and work. I also mention it every chance I get. But it needs a way to get patches installed, instead of reloading the whole product or figuring out what files need replaced with a folder compare.
What say ye!
I did the same thing only I changed the icon of mozilla to IE. More sneaky!:-) I ended up just moving her over to Debian and she is much happier with a stable, non-broke azz computer. With Linux youre PC runs the same the next day and the day after that for a long time.
It doesn't get slower and slower and slower until you finally say "This sucks!" and re-install.
The problem is that there is really no need for more
technical people in the market place. Most graduates are not finding work and end up staying with their parents or working in fast food.
I know there will be plenty of people who say that this is untrue. I hear all of the time from friends who recently graduated that more than 80% of the graduates are working in low paying non-technical jobs.
You would do better to try out something else and just uses computers for a hobby or something. Anyway some accounts I know became LAN administrator, so go get a regular busines degree.
I have performed this on several drives before too. Changing boards on drives that just click as well. Hell I have even cut and redirected IRQ lines to different traces to get modems on different IRQs back in the 90's. Theses are good suggestions to get out to the youger technicians out there.:-)
With GNU/Linux being free they can spend almost all of their money on the system design. This is cool, the system will be very well designed from the get go.
Whats up with Slashdot having a banner ad for SCO products from easysoft.com? This sucks, or am I the only Linux user to see the banner. SCO ODBC drivers etc...
All right, lets not start selling blode OK!
Even if it RedHat GNU/Linux this is very good during this trying time we are going through. Way to go Sun and Redhat and Oracle too!:-)
I love you GNU/Linux!
Don't be hate'n.
What will happen when they loose?

If you read the article
by Eric S. Raymond you can see that they won't win.
They will most likely be sued by other Linux companies when IBM is through with them for hurting Linux sales.

Yeah, that would be more realistic. It makes it much more challenging that way. It takes a steady hand(Operation TM).
I use "Dihydrogen Monoxide" in my coffee, tea and its in my water too. That mean ole sun is causing us a lot of grief too with its powerful radiation bombarding our planet.
Johnson and Johnson a Family Company! Thats all I had say.
I think it was in 1993 and it would have been on 34 3.5" floppies. I was called SLS.
That would be the ideal thing to do. Thanks for noticing! You anonymous coward!

"High 2.0" Let me be a better tester for that!

Love the sig Kevin. Is that Commodore Basic or Apple Basic, its kinda hard to tell with two lines. He He!
