Concidering you need to fill the L1 bridges with superglue before you can O/C an athlonXP (to change the mult, at least), you can't just 'clean it off' if you screw up...
Unfortunately explaining a joke ruins it, but you didn't seem to get it in the first place.
American McGee's "Alice" was released a couple years ago. It was Alice in Wonderland (a sweet, charming, etc childhood story), but much MUCH darker. Like, the part of max payne where he goes crazy darker.
A couple weeks ago, American McGee's "Oz" was annonced. It's going to be the same dark style as Alice, but based on the Wizard of Oz (another sweet childhood story). So American McGee is a brand that makes dark covers of childrens' work, hence the strip.
Oh, and this is pure genious. (probably because it actually HAS happened to me)
"has anyone noticed that Canadian DSL seems a whole lot nicer than American, but cable often is much increased in crappiness?" br.
No. I haven't noticed that at all. My friends in my area that have DSL can download from a major ftp server (running on an OC line, etc) at about 50 or 60 k/s. I consistently get 75 - 150 on cable. it varies through the day, but usually varies in that range (4am i get 150, 8pm i get 75). The ads for DSL are correct out here. You get consistent speed. Unfortunately though, you get consistently bad speed. Not to mention that for dsl I would have to invest in a router, whereas with cable, I plug my cablemodem into a $20 hub, and put my computers on the other ports. I get DHCP addresses, but I've had the same IP for almost a year now (enough that I can even register a domain name), try saying that about DSL.
Wierd, I got the same answer, but in a different way.
I ignored the initial 'O', it had some bearing to what was before it, likely.
Then, i took the second and third group: 'TT' and 'SS', and compared it alphabetically ( s directly precedes t ), and inferred the third group 'FF' would have the same pattern as the ones it was sandwitched between, and got 'EE' as the next two letters.
"rental cars are just advertising for the automobile company"
No. Rental cars are like rental movies. You're paying to watch it for a limited time in it's whole glory. More appropriate, Test driving is like mp3's. Shitty quality (some smelly dude in a cowboy hat riding shotgun w/ you), and you don't get the whole deal (try taking a test drive up to 160 clicks... they don't like that).
"apples (the fruit, not the computers) are just advertising for apple trees"
Okay, what the hell are you talking about? Let me try to get some kinna logic out of this ...
Okay, so apple trees produce apples. And bands produce music. So if the music is advertising for the band, you shouldn't have to pay for it (the band). I dunno, but have you ever tried to buy a band? and i mean an entire band, not just a CD... Why not walk up to Lars Ulrich and say to him "lars. I want to buy metallica. Yes. the whole band.". He'll probably break your teeth. So the apples thing makes no real sense. Apples are the product, CD's are the product. You aren't getting CD's for free, you're getting shit quality samples of the CD, sans cover art, etc.
"more people can get even richer. Anyone can make it"
If you believe that, wanna lend me about 2 million in venture capital?
Or perhaps you could look at my (overdrawn) bank account and tell me where the startup cash is in there.
You need money to make money, and not everyone has daddy to give them some.
I don't know why I get those... I already make sure everyone knows about my wang size... Any bigger and it'd need to be call "Womb Stretcher: The amazing"
You can't sue someone for not complying with an RFC, or any other kind of standard (unless there's a patent of some sorts on it, a la CD's).
If you could, MS would've been out of business a long time ago.
And blocking AOL is a way to get them to realize that they're being dumb about it. Their customers will soon realize "hey, I can't get mail from or to anywhere... wtf?" and switch to an ISP (AOL is *NOT* an ISP.)
win2k runs decent on my laptop. Xfree runs like crap, it takes a good 30 seconds to switch windows, and (i timed it) 3.5 minutes for a large program like openoffice (which i timed) or mozilla to open
Why wasn't I told of these events?! There was even one in my city!
Goddamnit slashdot. quit sleeping on the job. I couldv'e had a (semi) not-illegal copy of VS. Newest version, even! None of this "enterprise edition downloaded from a source that wishes to remain nameless" for me...
Step 1: get the faxspmammer's fax # (try *69)
Step 2: take 3 pieces of black construction paper, and one roll of 3M Scotch brand tape (or whatever)
Step 3: tape the 3 pieces of paper together in one long strip
Step 4: Fax it to the offender
Step 5: When the first sheet is through, tape the end of it to the exposed end at the other side.
Step 6: ??
Step 7: PROFIT!!
No clue. It just wouldn't work. no amount of coaxing got it to, so i reformatted, and installed debian/unstable, and everything's worked since (except now, wlan seems to have decided to die. wlan-ng-conf or whatever the filename is can't find wlan0)
Much to my dismay. my laptops' NIC uses a driver that doesn't work with 2.2. I _Need_ 2.4 for it to work. It was a bitch getting anything to run on it properly. X wouldn't load with RH, sound wouldn't load with Mandrake, and then the nic wouldn't load with my CD images of debian. I ended up netinstalling it unstable with bf2.4

Same answer, different logic.
Solution:
2 recievers, broadcasting their location to a central server.
Put one in each hand.
0-160kph in 20 mins?
Lameass car. No wonder you didn't buy it.
"A caffeine and alcohol cocktail similar to an Irish coffee could prevent severe brain damage in stroke victims"
Excellent. I believe I shall preemptively protect myself from brain damage due to stroke... at 20... and healthy...
FUD watch time.

I'm AT work, you insensative clod.
Except in Canada, where our government has a vested intrest in keeping our population healthy, as opposed to the opposite, to "help the economy"
$20/hour? Damn. I'm getting ripped off! I make 11$ CDN to do helldesk.

Please inform me...
What the hell are you going on about? This post seems to me at least, to be beyond offtopic, into the realm of the surreal.
Everyone is now stupider for reading your post. I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.

bastards...
Ever seen svchost.exe in your tasklist? bugger takes up nearly 95% of my CPU if the computer's been running more than a day.
If I kill it, it's fine, but i can't prevent the issue
I have yet to see XP bluescreen.
Prolly either a bad install, or bad ram/chipset. or a shitty motherboard (soyo what?)
Canon?
Their printers are kinna pricy, but the ink is dirt cheap ($15/cart as opposed to HP's $70/cart (!!!!) )
Or, just download the ROMs, and have that be that. The likelyhood of nintendo busting you for it is somewhere around 0%.
so long as you can get away with it, everything's legal
Here's how I deal with junk faxes:
Step 1: get the faxspmammer's fax # (try *69)

Toner 'ain't cheap.
does this mean EQ and DAoC are illegal there?
