Nice thread developing here but I wonder if the "basic population" can grasp things of a technical nature in enough detail for it to have that profound an effect. On logic & philosophy though, I agree - it would be nice for these things to be instilled in more young developing minds.
Although for my tablet there's no external drives or legacy ports (only USB, modem, LAN, VGA, PCMCIA, CF and 802.11b). It makes it kinda hard to install anything on it cause you need a bootable CD with USB drivers for the CD, keyboard and mouse (BIOS handles the USB until the system boots - then it breaks if the system can't handle it). @TM Knoppix is the easyest way to get a system on it as it has USB keyboard and mouse drivers and auto-conf's the rest of the hardware. Still no USB CD drive support but I can use PXE to boot from LAN - crossing-over to a box running Knoppix-terminalserver.

This seems as good a place as any to post about the subject, although this thread is getting quite old now.
I keep reading peoples posts bitching and moaning about tablet computers. I'm writing this post on the screen of my TC1000 while reclining on my couch and playing Scrabble with my wife. By the way, my handwriting sux and this thing's very good at working out what I'm writing.
l like my tablet computer and wouldn't trade it for your wiz-bang P4-m laptop. It's got a 1GHz Crusoe & 256MB RAM. The battery lasts for a long time.
At work when I'm writing code I use the detachable fold-out keyboard that it came with and a USB mouse. It has VGA out aswell, So i can use it with an external monitor or projector in dual screen mode.
It's great for reading and taking notes while standing on the train. Surfing the net while curled up on the sofa like you would with a good book, like I am now, is the best.
I know that early adopters like myself pay a premium, the things already come down in price by nearly a third since i bought it, but that's OK because get good use out of it and it's a tax concession.
The only problem I have had so far is trying to get Debian installed on it. It has no external drives but can boot from a USB CD drive though. I want to keep XP tablet edition (Huge improvement from '98) but the Compaq Quick Restore formats c:\. I need a way to non-destructively resize my (XP) NTFS.
The general reason my shoes look crusty is from scuffing NOT dirt.
The wax coating for the "Lotus-Effekt" (from the BASF Article, 9 paragraphs down, under the heading "Nanotechnology means learning from nature") will still be susceptible to this.
It'd be interesting if they had an anti-mature filter that subtracted the normal results from the unfiltered ones.
Try adding "(Using password: NO)" to that
As much as I find AOL unpleasant - this is a pretty good idea as your current set-up is not infected by AOL.

What about using 4 frames in a pop-up?
100 is still a long list of results

Nice,
Flip horizontally and it's like a ?!
It's called a tablet PC.
If that's true that's some seriously scary shit! It's like something out of Illuminatus.
Some of the guys on the Pulse Engine forum suggested using a blank ammunition cartrige to achieve the necessary starting energy.

Shouldn't that be Spheniscidaen responses? :)
Ah, for a second I thought you said often you want to distinguish yourself as belonging to a specific religion.
A few sites rightfully claimed [x] however this was not the case.
Ahem, sorry, How can you rightfully claim anything that is not the case?
