Conformal surface parameterization allows you generate a geometry image from an arbitrary mesh. The geometry image is a parameterization of the mesh on a uniform grid where the (r,g,b) coordinates are considered to be (x,y,z) spatial coordinates. You can now use the image format of your choice, lossy or not.
I feel like a broken record because I have posted this anecdote 3 times this week in various LInux vs. Windows threads. I installed Win2K SP4 on an older machine with an SBLive card. No sound card was detected, and no resource conflicts were detected. It just simply didn't work. For many users, this would have been the end of the line. The fix was simple, downloading the latest drivers from Creative, but isapnp is not difficult either...
Oh yeah, when I installed RH8.0 on another partition, the SBLive work with no work on my part.
Also: isn't Tatooine an exceptionally bad place for Obi-Wan Kenobi to be hiding?
Another thing... Obi-Wan doesn't seem old enough in Ep1 and 2. In AOTC he seems to be late 20s. Maybe he is 30 years old than Luke, assuming Anakin fathers Luke fairly close to the time of AOTC. In Ep 4 Luke is maybe 20 and Obi-Wan seems to be 70.
It seems to me that this reality tv is as good or better than the crap writers can come up with. Perhaps you would prefer another sitcom, police/lawyer/crimescene drama?
A long time ago I was playing Sega Genesis with my friend. He pointed at the console and said "Do you know how that thing works?" I was in CS at the time, but didn't know the specs of this machine, so I said "No." So he informs me, "There's actually a little computer in there."
Sure, the industry has creatively stagnated, but so have individual studios. A popular studio has released in the past few years: Motocross Madness, Motocross Madness 2, ATV Offroad fury, Splashdown, ATV Offroad fury 2, Splashdown 2, and MX unleashed. All nearly identical racing games with x-treme type stunts, with a few vehicle changes. Technologically these games are very good, but the poor guys at this studio have spent the past 5 years making the same damned game. That must get very boring...

Just enjoy the game and forget about the stupid GD MF ads. Why are people brainwashed into loving advertisements one day per year? These are the same stupid ads they will be replaying for the next 12 months. You aren't missing anything. Nobody said "Let's make some good ads now, because the Superbowl is coming up."
Not only does the game industry promise long hours and relatively low pay, but it is not as glamorous as you may think. How many 5 year old games do you still play? The 5-star AAA title you just spent a year working on is going to be $9.99 in the cut-out bin a year from now. Do you think it will be exciting to see your name in the credits? Look for your name after the publisher's president's secretary. If you are willing to sell your life for free Coke, foosball and Boston Market for dinner every night, go for it.
Tell them that you read so many comic books and go to so many medieval fairs and watch so much star wars/trek and anime and play so many video games that something had to give.
I live in Florida, and experience rain fade several times per month. It doesn't even have to be raining, heavy clouds will kill my signal. The signal is close to 90% when the weather is clear. This is most annoying when people come to my house to see "the big game".
Otherwise the mpeg glitches are quite fun to watch, like when some background texture blocks start moving along with the motion vectors from a talking face. Much better than static!
What could be more annoying? The jetski of the sky, perhaps?

I guess this guy never had a neural networks class. A popular assignment is to classify the images in the MNIST database. These are handwritten digits. Most undergrads can implement a SVM that achieve > 90% correct classification
I was going to make a sarcastic remark about typing watermarks onto film, but I am too tired... The parent poster meant steganography (digital watermarking technique), not stenography.

No doubt this conversation will be on a "push to talk" basis, so you can hear the other party, and that annoying beebeebeebeep between sentences.

Unfortunately you would also need directx for your phone to run this game.
Statistics without a citation is an anectode. Where does the 6000 job figure come from?

Then when you take the wafer out of the water : Shrinkage. Brilliant idea!

Or a robot that is not just a remote-controlled car, but is truly autonomous.

might as well skip it now...

And you can record 60 hours of "Searching for signal" thanks to the rain fade.
No, only a retard would do that.

Something tells me it was funded by Apple, Cisco, Liebert and Mellanox. Universities are not in the business of consuming funds, not supplying them.
'Escape From LA' must have had a very profound impact on timothy for him to recall such a forgetable movie.

I thought this article would be about the abysmal CS department at UF.
