"Comcast provides a credit to customers who have an activated CableCARD installed in a customer-owned device (e.g., TiVo or CableCARD-equipped television) or customers that own a qualifying converter (See Customer Owned Equipment Policy) if the customer subscribes to a Comcast video service that includes equipment as a part of the service. Customers who qualify will receive a monthly credit of $2.50 for each qualifying activated CableCard device or converter."
It'll be on a torrent site 10 min after airing so you can watch it are you leisure. Now if I was them I'd put it up on a torrent site right after it aired with the commercial intact. That way you beat the pirates to the punch and people probably wouldn't care about the tv ads.
Dammit Jim.... I am a Star Trek fan, not a pirate!
For Cable TV DVR, I have a windows 7 MCE with Cablecard which takes care of recording everything including premium cable (HBO and Cinemax). The PC is directly hooked to my primary TV. It also run plex server which streams media to Roku box hooked up to my other TV
These are decent TN panels but they're not in the league of IPS displays in terms of uniformity
Where does it say that this is TN display? I checked the article and also Dell website but couldn't find any mention of non-IPS display. Dell XPS has always been their premium line and used IPS display
The only thing that works with Comcast in my area (Sacramento, CA) is Windows7 Media Center. It allows me to record all copy protected stuff including HBO and Cinemax. Not sure what my options are after Microsoft abandons windows7...
Dumbass, there is an option for changing backgroud options. Move your ass and change it under settings menu. Jeez, how do morons like you end up on slashdot? You haven't even looked under settings options, before whining about it...
...is that if Blackberry pulls it off, Apple should also do the same thing and release an Android phone. Then Google should make their next Nexus phone have Windows 10. And the Microsoft version of Nokia should release a webOS phone too.
I see not one thing that says this is an x86. If it's not x86 it's still ARM and still windows RT even if they don't call it RT anymore. The result being you can only run software from the windows store, no legacy apps.
Its a 14nm Cherry Trail SoC. Don't confuse this with old crappy Atom. These are really fast. This is http://www.anandtech.com/show/...
Sorry but bluray sucks. Sony sucks. Most people are happy with DVD quality and see no reason to buy bluray disks. Also the fact that 99% of bluray disks have previews that cannot be skipped or fast forwarded through makes them NOT the media of choice! The only way that bluray disks sell at all is that these days you have to buy the bluray disk packaged with the DVD disk to get the DVD disk much of the time.

I agree, Google isn't going to sell enough. But still its a big deal for Intel, since they have struggled to put their SoC in big name products. They are making progress in tablet space, but this Nexus win adds credibility to Intel's SoC roadmap
So you're saying, eat less, exercise more, and do it for the rest of your life?
You'll never sell that. People want to know what magic food you can eat that will make the bulge from all the cheetos go away. Telling them to eat fewer cheetos only makes people hate you.
I am a Comcast California subscriber. Not only is the first Cable Card free (if you dont use their STB), you also get a $2.50 credit.

Moto E is a low end phone. Maybe it doesn't not satisfy the Marshmallow hardware requirements?
Bingo! That is the right answer. Perfect laptop for running linux (Of course assuming that you can afford it)
Not sure why AMD and nVidia keep dragging their foot. It makes no businesses sense
100% True. Your gedit screenshot was priceless

... they got. He will regret, just like that douchebag kid from Two and a Half Men
Not sure what you're looking for in a PC manufacturer, but for Slashbots, isn't this pretty much it?
He is looking for a tablet where he can install candy crush
You are 100% correct

This is a media player (like Roku), so there is no battery involved here

And it is powered by an Intel chip. Interesting that Google decided to go with Intel 64-bit SoC instead of ARM. This is a big win for Intel
Interestingly iTunes has become process-hogging bloatware-laden pig. So its the new RealPlayer!
But does it run Linux?
No but it runs Netbsd!

No Americans believe in crony capitalism. Ergo Apple and MS products rule
These Germans. Cant follow through on anything. Fascism, Nazism, linux ..... No wonder they got their asses whooped by Americans. USA ... USA ... USA ...
