Given the generally accepted idea of how Earth got its big moon — through a dramatic collision with a Mars-sized body
Say what? Since when did such incredible order result from an arbitrary and chaotic event like this?
I would think that creationists differ on the opinion either that A) God created the the entire universe and B) He created it just for us.
As someone who believes in the Bible's account of creation, I certainly agree with A. However, not quite with B. You see, God created the world and all that we see in and from it for his good pleasure. He created man as the pinnacle of his work and it was then His pleasure to set us in charge of all that had been created.
Furthermore, whether there is some form of life on other planets or not, it was man who was created in God's image (NB: God-likeness, not God-like); it was man who God gave freewill to; it was man who exercised his freewill to disobey God and thus brought into the world sin and death and then subsequent judgement; it was man that God sent His Son Jesus to save by having Him pay the price that is due for sin.
Now, whilst I would love for all the/. tribe to believe this, I accept - nay, respect and stand for the right - that many of you do and will not. However, please do not insult the intellect of this community by spouting forth generalities that simply do not stand up to the simplest of logical scrutiny.
Network traffic doctrine states that =/C (Ro=lamba/(Mu*C) which equates to Utilisation = input rate / (output rate * constant bandwidth). The ideal is for is to be no greater that 0.8. If it goes above 0.8, then congestion occurs and packets get dropped.
However, it should be noted that this applies to routed networks, not switched.
I heared that in Italy you can get a T1 for cheap, but I'm sure it comes with no guarantee.
Actually, no, you can't get a T1 for cheap in Italy because you can't get a T1 in Italy. Yanks use a 23 channel ISDN connection pipe whereas us European types use 30 channels giving an E1 line (and 2Meg).
they don't all go... ITS A NEW VERSION... I MUST HAVE IT NOW
I work for a family ran, medium sized business that has locations on 6 of the 7 continents. We have only really just started to get a grip on things in the infrastructure and on the user's desktop (history of bad staff etc.). It is only recently that our IT department has stopped being the companies toilet paper: people are actually proud to have us as an IT team and are (mostly...) happy with the service they recieve. To upgrade, even in the next 3 years, to a non-MS platform would be unthinkable - we would need to fork out for testing, engineer training, user education, re-development of applications for a new platform, checking the integrity of databases, ensuring that we can conform to document standards (internally and with our suppliers and clients), ensuring that our current data can be read and amended on the new platform, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. zzzzzzzzzzz...
It will take a serious set of stones to see through a project that switches a corporation from MS to Linux.
Too right: if there is one thing that the world can do without it is more guitar with more crappy transistors. anything to do with guitars that involves transistors just makes the guitar sound like a bee in a can.
Bring back vacuum tube PC's: they might be bigger, hotter and more expensive to run, but I bet M$ will be able to implement P*ug & P*ay tubes that blow every 6 start ups.
Linux will have a much better implementation of tube device drivers, but it will only work on certain tubes
First there was nothing: then it exploded.
Furthermore, the big bang must be the only huge explosion that I know of that has created (as opposed to destoryed), and even then created order (as opposed to chaos).
Evolution: more holes in it than Swiss cheese. Pity Genetic algorithms are based on evolutionary theory cause they really kick ass.
I'm writing an open source DVD Player for my project at university (I'll post the code up somewhere sometime in the future). Now although the DeCSS stuff is really hampering in the US, it seems like in Europe there is nothing to stop us developing open source players. I trawled through all sorts of law cases and the only one's were from the US.
Well, apart from the games and the running 3D Studio Max for my university course, it is the fear of using something that could manage a Beowolf Cluster...
You know, it's like someone actually designed it that way. Gen 1:1.
That's a nice round number.
I thought pie are square?
Watch out, because if you go round once, you'll get pied.

From page 4:
Yep, it's the curse of the F-G siblings...
Everyone knows that you shouldn't use Microsoft Flight Simulator X in a live environment.
From there, ten toes
And from there, your ear.
All I can say is that we're out of beta: we're releasing on time.
Are you from the Government?
I had Greek characters and everything in there!!!!

I have no idea how much it costs.

You've got to have respect for a guy who can jump out of a bath, run out into the street and yell "I've found it!"...

For goodness sake, if you're going to jot down a number, at least do it right...

Same problem?
Ah yes. But Keanu's films are best when the lines are mixed and matched.
"I am Bill Presten Esq."
"And my name is Neo, Bill."
"And together we want a phone call."

Plus your PC will sound infinitly better.

Aye: I was thinking that these could be quite useful in the creation of the afore mentioned cluster thingy. You beat me to it...
Well, you see, that is what they get for not using Pritt-Stik(TM) to shut the stupid lid...
