Worst programming place I ever saw was one I visited.
Arrived at the place to talk with the developers and see if we could incorporate their software at our location. The atrium to the place was nice, wide open area with plants and all nice. Going into the halls they had robots running mail and physical items between room, then we got to the programming room. It was a big white room with 3 columns, and around 5 rows, of picnic type tables and two programmers on each table, each with their own computer. At the front of the room was a raised platform where the managers desk was sitting.
Making it even worse was the manager, she would require that they get permission to go to the bathroom, get lunch, etc.
The only good thing about the trip was that I was with people who went up there a bunch of time so knew all the good restaurants, hotels, etc. So after talking with the developers for less than an hour the people I was with decided the software would not work for them so I had the rest of week free to do nothing; which kind of sucked becaue Indianapolis does not have much to do for a full week.
This is not the first time this law has run into such usage.
Some people did try to get that changed but there was too much interest in keeping it that way, from the companies doing it and from the various environmental group who want to stop petroleum usage.
Did some quick looking into this.
For pets places that do an injection may do it in two stages, first a sedative then the poison to stop the heart. For small animals, dogs and cats, they may use a single injection that contains both; the chemicals used for this would require an impracticlly large amount for larger animals.
For humans executions in the States it is a 3 stage process, first a sedative, then an injection to cause muscle paralysis and respiratory arrest, then an injection to stop the heart.
Try doing some basic research, he did have WMD after the second war. What he did not have were the quanity and types that intelligence for almost every country in the world was saying he had.
That is the problem with the rest of the world.
Here is the US people, such as Matt Stone and Trey Parker, can get other people to give them money and they can then produce a movie to include also anything they like.
That the rest of the world does not like the movie is no reflection on the US but on a people who made it.
Also the movie was not made using tax money.
Hanging is one of the quickest ways to die. You can probably find the article if you search for it but some journalist asked a bunch of people who build and maintain execution machines and that all selected hanging as the method they would prefer to have applied to them.
If you actually have a legal birth certificate depends on the state you were born in. I ran into this when I need to get some federal government paperwork. I gave them a birth certificate I had used many times in the past, and still do, to prove US citizenship and after they did some checking I was told that it was not an official birth certificate it was a birth certificate given by the hospital and had no official standing. If I wanted to an official birth certificate I had write off to my birth state and do some proof of identification to get one.
Now the funny thing about all of this is that I then just used a passport to prove identification and citizenship. Now to renew a passport you need an old passport, and my first passport was probably based on that hospital birth certificate.
Since it is two different computers and instances that you are installing it on you will need two upgrade licenses.
However most MS licenses come with the right to install 32 OR 64 bit with the same license; in case you want to switch.
I have an account that is checked every few weeks and has a few hundred messages and it filters everything and the slowdown is not the filtering but the network and how fast it can get the messages.
The use of BP and USD is because it comes from the Financial Times a British site. Standard practice for most international British papers/websites is to list in BP because it is the local money, and the USD because that is the primary currency that is easy to compare worldwide.
Ever so often you will have an article that will have the local currency when the price in local currency is needed, but that is not often.
That fire the highly knowledgeable tech worker thinking has been a message in many management books for a few years. the basic idea is that you do have a wide range in the knowledge of people and if you grow dependent on a a single person and they leave you will be in really big trouble. Instead get as much documentation from them as possible then fire them.
According to a 1995 US Department of justice 12-month study of the 75 most populous counties showed that only 2 percent of some 762,000 state court civil cases were decided by juries.
So at that point someone had actually filed the paperwork for a court case. So you would have to guess how many civil problems got settled before court paperwork was even filed.
As for why they are doing that, it is cheaper. If they can get you to settle before the court action they save time and money.
What is the size of the flash drive? We know he has a movie and a linux distro so at least an 8 gig. even then what do you do when your finger gets to small for any practical use?
Finally, is that guy still on drugs?
The problem happened during the mid/late 90s. At that time it was decided you would have contractors doing the hands on work, GS doing management continuity and management and then military managing all of that. With a few enlisted and officers scattered around in various slots.
So now it is even worse then you had. As an officer in the past if you got in a small organization you could expect to start by managing a small group and while they say no-hands on that was not the case, since you lead a small group you could get involved. Now that small management has been handed over to the enlisted and even in small organization you will not have a chance to do hands on.
For the enlisted in a large organization don't expect to do any thing, in small organizations you can expect to do hands on until you get 5-6 years in then you will be stuck in management. So once they start getting useful they are placed as managers.
There are still a few places were you might sneak in hands on but they are small places that have specialized hardware and software and those places are being consolidated as quickly as possible.
The Air Force was the first that did this with the army following, now the Army is about 5 years behind and catching up to where the Air Force is. I don't know about the others since those are the only armed forces I work with.
Ok, I am interested in one aspect of the story and after reading the articles and doing some searching I still cannot find the answer.
What is a "grass mud horse" and have some pictures of a real one? The dolls look more like a lamma, and if that is what they are how did that name come about?
The Stasi did it for dog tracking. If you went on the run they had an sample stored in air tight jars that could be used by the dogs to hopfully track you.
Why the Internal Star Registry of course, a Mr. Maxwell Sun paid $14.95 and named it after this family.:).
Actually it was the IAU, International Astronomical Union, the same people who declared Pluto not a planet.
Those are good reasons and explain why the public will accept them, but the public also accepts the civil trials.
Why the 3 strikes will work is because the ISPs will do it.
Lets face it if you are a person who shares movies, music, etc you are going to be the main source of network usage for the ISP, if you have a bunch of downloaders/uploaders you have to purchase additional hardware and network time. If the ISP can remove that large usage the costs decrease. So the ISPs can 1st and 2nd strike the person, still keeping them as paying customers, and if they don't decrease usage they can dump the person and doing this keeps the copyright owners off your back. The ISP don't lose.
German uses Die Sonne for the Sun and der Sonne as generic, German capitalizes all nouns; die is feminine gender and der is masculine. Spanish does the same thing but make the Sun masculine.
A quick look shows it really varies some use the same word other have a word for the Sun and refer to other stars by a different word.
The official name of our sun is Sun. Sol is commonly used in science fiction but is just latin for sun and is not the official name.
The is the same as our moon the official name is Moon, it is commonly referred to in sci-fi as Luna.
So if you were in orbit around a planet that orbits a different star you could refer to it as the local star or local sun or by its official name, such as the 2nd nearest star to us being Proxima Centauri (of the Alpha Centauri solar system).

They also made him listen to rock and heavy metal music and eat Cheetos.

Doen't even look like a motorcycle. Closest prior art is a motorized wheelchair, or maybe a Rascal
Just got a new one, today, that is one of the funniest around
