there is a website ( http://photos.pagesjaunes.fr/ ), and it has a photograph of every building in paris and by clicking on the map you can see any of those buildings.... its pretty cool.
The problem is that finding an easy cure would actually be a loss of money. If you create something that just slows or pauses the disease, something that people have to keep on taking, then you make far far more money. Its also worth a whole lot more venture capital to hunt for that holy grail and thats probably why you suspect that they are actually trying to find a cure. LOL
your exactly right. it takes 2-4 years for presidential policy to effect the economy.
therefore Reagans success was due to the Carter administrations invention of supply-side economics due to the desparation to recover from the depression of the 80s'
also, Clintons success was due to policies passed by George Bush senior...
because of this, in a way republicans are doomed to be the fixers and democrats will continue to consume their repairs...
ya see, Apple was like the first speed dealer on the street and Microsoft saw that, learned from it and improved it, and started importing crack to take market share from the Linux dopers who are too slow to adjust. If only it didn't take so long to get stoned. Those Microsoft coke-heads save time because it only takes a second to whiff it up, and thats why they are the leader on the street. Its too bad about the BSD browners because once they start you never hear from them again.
i suppose thats possible... especially if you could harness all the static electricity that is created from the entire length of the cable... you could partially power the ion engines with that mabye?
thats great... then hurricane Nemo comes along and wipes the whole thing out since its in the middle of the ocean.
considering the nature of this think by the way, wouldn't it make sense for the bottome to rest on the equator at the very place where the earth can give it the most centrifigal force? if so , i cant think of any particular hurricane free zone in that area...
1. first, the music industry loses its ability to control the marketing of new music to people because the people themselves have control of the distribution technology (i.e. Napster, Kazaa )
2. then, the television industry loses its control of what people think because the internet allows people once again to control what they read, hear, and see.
It sounds to me like the whole media industry is losing its control over people and we can thank technology for doing this for us!:-)
the music industry already raised prices on CDs to make up for declining sales.
do you think that they will lower prices back down once people stop sharing files?
its just another example of manipulation by the record industry to screw us out of our money. if you ask me, the record industry should be fined for price fixing and breaking laws that were created to prevent monopolistic behavior...
yeah, they will release Revolutions and then they will wait and release the whole series a year later with added footage to the original Matrix and you'll end up buying the frickin DVD twice...
i'll just stick to downloading the movie for free thanks. i don't feel guilty about it either, considering how they are out to screw us.
ever since the "X-Men" special edition DVD trick, i have been jaded....
i think your right. hollwood is too scared to take risks on new material. they try to stick to what works as much as possible and its too bad that americans just eat it all up.
for example, the movie Pitch Black rocked but it wasn't because of one of these scared movie execs. it was because someone had an artistic idea and explored it and somehow someone let it through the cracks.
is it morally ethical to file a patent 45 years ago and sit on it until you feel you can screw the infriger to the maximum and then surprise them, but during the whole time you sat on the patent you knew about the infringment?
if it was me, i would sue the patent filer for not acting on the patent in a timely fashion...
when i started college in 1989, i used to telnet in to play the Twin Peaks MUD. even then, it only took 1 hour of my time each time i sat down. 1 year later, my friends in their dorm rooms would spend mabye 1 or 2 hours at a time on Nintendo.
in any case, its nothing like sitting and playing Diablo for days on end...
the funny thing is that by not buying CDs from stores, and by downloading, we ARE voting with our dollars.
if the music industry wants us to spend money, they should stop treating us like we are made of money, because we are not.
for now, I will continue my "do-not-buy" boycott until they get it right and start charging $10 for new CDs.
EXACTLY! what a GREAT idea! thats the best thing I have heard all month!
ok, so you want to start bidding. are foriegners bidding against us?
think about that for a second.
that basically amounts to stealing from tax payers through tax fraud. these bastards need to go out of business. thank god for Bit Torrent.

whats next? a music CD installing adware on my computer? and for $18 im supposed to take it in the ass?

:-)
neat ideas you have...

can you project in 3D? it seems that a fog screen should allow you do do this because it could have depth to it, right?
things are changing:

we don't see anti-matter photons hitting our telescopes, therefore anti-matter stars do no exist...
sorry dude. game over.

this is a real double standard...

for example, Sager Electronics will soon start shipping the OEM 17 incher laptop case and AlienWare will follow soon after...

followed by every single mom and pop computer builder near you. its not going to be just Toshiba and Dell
personally, I use K9 and it filters out nearly 98% of my junk mail though i need to baby sit it a bit while it learns who my friendly emails are...
best of all. its free! and free of spyware too.

your right actually. what if someone were to come along and "improve on the patent" by supplying the same service without delays!
can that be patented?

LOL... ok , i got a good laugh out of this one... thanks guys. :-)
ok, so does this mean it will take half as long to get to the 2 billionth computer chip?

an interesting thought:

transparent resistors in transparent aluminum
mixing Minority Report with Star Trek.
