Start importing cars made for the european market. We have loads of those cars here.
Pretty much this. Later this year VW will release a 73 mpg Golf. They'll sell a lot of those, which will make room under the corporate umbrella for a whole bunch of 30 mpg cars.
What does his apparently violating parole have at all to do with this site?
Because the terms of "his probation terms specify he was not permitted to possess or use a device with access to the Internet without permission from his supervisor" (LATimes)?
At the least he's an interesting character, because Prosecutors in the case aren't even sure of his real name, which he's changed several times.
It looks like his maximum sentence is 24 months, so more interesting will be to see what he actually gets if convicted.
I've got a iPhone 3G and the 5 is looking like a pretty nice upgrade.
Apple sold about 74 million iPhones by the end of fiscal 2010. I'm sure some have upgraded but a lot of people are probably still carrying around a 3G, 3GS or 4 and are finally ready to upgrade to the latest, with a new service contract.
Transparent aluminum is ballistics-resistant so much so that it doesn't even scratch. It's also much more expensive.
Yeah, but its barter value isn't very high. A guy I know (Monty) only got a few big sheets of plexi in exchange for the transparent aluminum formula. Sheesh.
Apple (and Samsung) are multi-billion multi-national corporations composed of tens of thousands of people. Neither one is your friend; nor is either working in your favor. They want your money.
Don't fall into the Corporate Personhood trap by bringing emotion into it.
Hey, wait. Why is this post adjacent to "How Long Do You Want to Live?"
Exactly. It should be adjacent to a post about TSA screening.
"Let's give them their electronic toys on take-off and landing. That will help them forget about the anal probe and molesting they got before boarding."
The car is central to life in the US. The fuel munching car has no real future in this.
Not the car. The truck.
The Ford F-150 has been the best selling vehicle (car or truck) in the US for the past 35 years. In 2011 here are the ranks (from this source):
1. Ford F-150 (584,917 sold)
2. Chevrolet Silverado (415,130)
3. Toyota Camry (308,510)
4. Nissan Altima (268,981)
5. Ford Escape (254,293)
6. Ford Fusion (248,067)
7. Ram Pickups (244,763)
8. Toyota Corolla (240,259)
9. Honda Accord (235,625)
10. Chevrolet Cruze (231,732)
For all the people complaining about Suburbans, Escalades and Expeditions, it is trucks, not SUVs that sell in the US.
Of the top 10: 1,533,174 cars (51%); 1,244,810 trucks (41%); 254,293 SUVs (8%)
How many trucks sold in Europe?

They should just have 3, A laser, a color laser and an inkjet.
they make their dough on toner and ink anyhoo!
They've got 2100 laser printers. Imagine how many models including the ink jets!
My thoughts exactly. The headline should have read "IT Company Has Bad IT; But Don't Worry, CEO Says It Will All Be Fine In A Few Years"
I am interested in WP8. I'm also interested in what RIM releases for their new phone, eventually.
Lemme know when FailedPhoneCo comes out with their great phone. I'm sure it is just right around the corner and it will be awesome double rainbows.
Probably to say... Boooooooooorrrrrrrrriiiiinnnnnng
Exactly. Let me know when there's full-on thermonuclear patent war.
Or when Tim Cook and J.K Shin engage in a Steel Cage Celebrity Deathmatch.
Boooooooooorrrrrrrrriiiiinnnnnng.

Other than Bing, MapQuest, TomTom, Garmin, iGo?
Not even that many-- TomTom is supplying data for the new Apple Maps turn by turn directions.
I used it in Austin and San Francisco and liked it, but I wasn't one of the places that had a feature reduction (or that I noticed anyway).
. . . and now this. It's like a war on breakfast.
Luckily the Strategic Bacon Reserve is still safe. What? HOW CAN WE NOT HAVE ONE?!?
But hey, maybe it's not a causal universe!
Dang.
I was really looking forward to Causal Friday.
I'd imagine most are coming from the 4 or below.

Difficulties editing old Word and PowerPoint documents...
Their problem is bigger than the iPad in the classroom.
I'm just here for the Comments on Comments on Code Comments.
Does that mean there's a labor shortage in China? If so, then things are about to get interesting.
Who's supplying the 4G data? I looked at Amazon briefly and didn't see it named, but it looks like the 4G logo AT&T uses.
The FBI... What, does anybody expect them to admit it?
FBI: Hello, Supervisor Special Agent Christopher K. Stangl, would you please step under this bus? We don't want to throw you.

Material, Elastic Modulus, Tensile Strength
CNC, 150 GPa, 7.5 GPa
Kevlar 49, 125 GPa, 3.5 GPa
Carbon fiber, 150 GPa, 3.5 GPa
Carbon nanotubes, 300 GPa, 20 GPa
So a great compromise material when you take cost into account, if it comes to fruition.

Wait, what?!
They already got the game to work though. Is there really that much more new stuff in the DLC that can't be bothered to figure out?
It sounds like just a calculated choice: "It would take X man hours and would bring us Y dollars. Skip it."
My Kingdom for some mod points!
Yes, post slamming Apple is somehow both Insightful and yet completely wrong.
And we have the hubris to slam creationists for their logical fallacies!
Why do you think we hate them so much?
