I live in a similar suburban precinct. When I voted on the way to work I noticed it was mostly men in line, but when I worked from home and voted slightly later in the day I noticed it was the opposite-- mostly women.
My guess: men vote on the way to work, women are smarter and vote when there are fewer crowds.
The Texas photo ID law has been a big deal lately, but I voted just fine with just my paper voter ID card, as always.
I was asked, "Do you prefer a paper or electronic ballot?"
"Which is faster?"
"Well, you see there's a line for the two electronic voting machines, but I can give you a paper ballot right now".
I had filled out my paper ballot and was out of there before the first person in the electronic line got to a machine. The paper ballot scanner showed 156 votes, about 9 AM this morning, so you can tell this is a pretty small town.
I think the car that SHOULD have won is the Ford C-Max Hybrid
This was automobile of the year, not econobox of the year. The Tesla was in the top three with the BRZ and Boxster, which are all of a much higher level of performance than the Ford Crap-Max box.
Car mag writes aren't going to pick a total performance dog for Car of the Year. The C-Max Hybrid only has electric top speed of 62mph!
We have flash floods every summer in Texas. Most cars that run into a few feet of water simply stall. If instead, your car explodes and kills all the occupants, then you've got a potential death trap.
I now see why they keep playing those flash flood PSAs down here. "Turn around, don't drown. The life you save may be your own." Clearly the message hasn't reached Kyle, TX yet.
It looks like several were close together, while others parked a little bit away were unscathed. Perhaps one caught fire and that burnt adjacent cars? They were parked pretty close, and there's a Karma in one of the photos that didn't suffer the same fate.
I am Becky Ofori, an Ethiopian. Happily I received this laptop to tell you about my special situation. I am contacting you in respect of a family treasure of Gold deposited in my name by my late father who was a gold and diamond merchant. As a well known business man, and a strong politician... ...
On the contrary, if you are a potential buyer, then a fresh agreement would be reached in respect of this transaction. I am looking forward to hear from you in respect as soon as you receive this fax.
Whoa. Taking a step forward, I can't even fathom what a Icelandic Oil/Fuel Baron would look like. Would we eventually go to war with Iceland because they're hoarding our fuel supply? Operation Ice Storm? Operation Enduring Hákarl?
Mine was off as well, and I don't think I've ever seen that setting before. I got the "default on" from TFA, so maybe that isn't correct?
Also the "Read More" on the Settings page says that in the future all Apps will be required to use IDFA, so isn't this a good thing to be able to control tracking from the device and NOT have it be ignored, like DNT?
If you want to turn off device tracking using the IDFA on your iOS6 device, do the following:
1) Click on Settings.
2) Click on General to access the General Settings.
3) Click About
4) Scroll down and click on Advertising.
5) Set Limit Ad Tracking to "ON".
Default On. This seems like the mobile version of Do Not Track, and we all know how that is turning out.
Who has ever wanted to charge their phone with their iPad? Anyone? ever?
Never. However, many times I've wanted the opposite. "Hey, this thing I rarely use for talking has plenty of battery left; how can I get it to charge this other thing I use for almost everything else?"
I too await a side-by-side, hands-on comparison. But I hope the multi-user feature becomes big so that it trickles over to my iPad.
You may consider that formal notification of my viewpoint. Your corporate legal team can explain to you why the fact you are now aware of my view is important to them.

This is 99% cultural/political i suppose.... We often have a car per family, not person. With a single car, the F150 just isn't as versatile as a full size estate.
I agree, except that an F-150 isn't as versatile. My father-in-law (an air conditioning contractor who hauls stuff each work day) drives an F-150. We recently drove it on vacation, holding 6 people, all their luggage and towing a 6 ton trailer. I'm not sure where the full-size estate is much more versatile. More efficient perhaps, but certainly not more capable.
To reply to my own question, no trucks were in the top 10 in Europe. In fact the top European seller for 2011 (VW Golf) sold 100k fewer units than the F-150.
+ insightful.
Ford make EcoBoost. It really is a good bit of kit from what i've read. They had to make it or fail as a company on the world stage as they had nothing to match Europe or Asia makers.
Ford sells the EcoBoost in the latest F-150, which is the most popular vehicle sold in the US. That's how it is going to happen: trucks will get 30 mpg and cars will get 70 mpg. Sell in equal numbers (which cars and trucks usually do in the US) and you'll be right at your CAFE average.

Hey, Rest-O-The-World, go pick your own crappy politicians!

Does this square with your expectations?
About what I'd expect, considering he was appointed by Bush. According to Wikipedia:
Griesbach was nominated by President George W. Bush
Disney/Marvel have Joss Whedon under contract through 2015. Just sayin'.
...wind and water surges knocked off Gawker sites...
And nothing of value was lost.
I knew there was a reason I didn't buy the Samsung Galaxy S3. Among the reasons:
How big is it? I can't find the outer dimensions. At 4.7" I worry that it is one of those too-big-for-me smartphones.
And why can't they publish the size specs on the site?

You tell me, why is Australia inventing all these hoops?
Because they don't trust Chinese companies?
On Oct. 16th at 10:32 a.m. MST
Mountain Daylight Time!
Don't go changing history by an hour; maybe Boeing doesn't use Daylight time? Like Arizona.
Just because they provided the units for their measure, doesn't mean it is wrong. That's like complaining someone used centimeters instead of inches.

Who DOESNT think the moon was caused by a collision, outside of a few Creationists?
Exactly. We all know it was created by the Divine Light of the Fifth Element as it neutralized the Great Evil.
The first live test, with a sheep, failed when the harness twisted and strangled the animal. On subsequent tests other sheep fared better.
Yes, hard to believe a subsequent test where sheep fared worse, but I'm sure slashdot will oblige.

The rover team's assessment is that the bright object is something from the rover, not Martian material.
Oh, sure, like they would actually tell us if it is the tip of some Martian tinfoil hat!
I called it first so its mine!
Bah, it clearly is unrefined Transparent Aluminum. It doesn't get clear until it is refined.
