I read this post and I wholeheartedly agree. If the topic does not have many posts, I tend to set it at -1 and see what the unpopular folk are saying. Maybe instead of changing the setup for how many posts a neg karma can give, why doesn't Taco give us an option to read just -1 karma posts, or better yet, a setting to increase the karma of an unpopular view by giving it flag along with interesting and funny. Call it "unpopular" or some such thing. Of course this will fall on deaf ears.

I agree why doesn't everyone stop take a breath and look at the situation before jumping to conclusions. They are not going to put you in jail for life for causing multimillion dollar damages.

So breath a sigh of relief you can still go along breaking the law for your own little juvenile agendas to your hearts content with only a few years time in jail to look forward to.

  7. Growing up in a doctor's family... on Interesting Enemies For a Diagnostic Database · · Score: 0

I grew up under a father who is an eye surgeon and considering the fact that almost all of his income goes to insurance both he and I believe that this database would be greatly beneficial to both doctors and patients. A database like this could quite possibly reduce the horrendous amount of malpractice lawsuits going on in this country (many of them baseless from people wanting to win a free "lottery" yet settled anyway). After a couple of years of such a downward trend the insurance companies might let up on their terrible prices and the doctors could be able to charge a decent fee again. Medicare is another story, and I'd rather not talk about it today. Furthermore, there is an ongoing myth out there that all doctors are rich. This is not true, but I must warn everyone out there that there are MANY unscrupulous doctors in this country and not to put one damn cent worth of trust into any of them unless they prove to you otherwise. Mod this however you like.

  9. Re:The whole pledge is problematic, in my opinion. on Pledge of Allegiance Ruled Unconstitutional · · Score: 0

So are we all at a consensus that it is quite popular to hate everything good this country as a population at least tries to stand for? By the way it's One Nation Under God. Though there may or may not be a God. That was quite an intelligently put together post, and I completely agree with much was said at the end of it. Nevertheless I believe the pledge of allegiance was said at a time when the court system was not a complete joke. That thing means something to a lot of us. It has a sentimental value; a binding force if you will. But nowadays what in the world is constitutional? The Constitution is interpreted so many ways these days by so many people with so many different agendas that it a joke to follow by it. I say try to keep some ideals of what this country was made for in your heads! I don't know about you but I have a pretty good idea when I'm doing something for selfish or unselfish reasons, helpful or unhelpful, etc... Those are by which a court should stand, not some lawyer's twisted interpretation. The more 'by the book' this country gets about such a document that can almost be interpreted more ways than the bible, the more the vice tightens on every aspect of our lives! Don't hate the country, don't hate the flag, and please don't hate the pledge of allegiance! Once we start hating our own country instead of trying to make it a better place, we might as well pack up and go to another country (Try finding one that has any less of a track record of screwups, inhumanities, and racial hatred). Anyone with intelligence knows that any country/empire in this world no matter how powerful and uncorrupt has eventually become corrupt and consequently lost it's power. However America is still a great place. One day it might not be, but get a grip and realize that it doesn't have to become a cesspool in our lifetimes, stop nitpicking every little thing you don't like about it (Anyone remember the phrase "You can't always get what you want"?). Just get up and try and make the community/country around you a better place regardless of weather you live in America, the UK, Germany, or Russia. . Encourage ideals of human decency and maybe you'll give yourself a reason as to what the entire point of your existence is in the first place. PS - If I get flames on my grammar or punctuation I am going to dissect a living horse with a butter knife on your front porch in front of your kids and neighbors. ---- My agenda is to ruthlessly squash your agenda.

Hey how about this. As soon as the codes are released to the public (?) I will take time out of my OWN busy life and write a front end software that determines what each means for each car. I don't know how popular monitary gain is here, but I'd invest in the company that does this (then take my money out when it has become overinflated :P)

I'm almost thinking of re-designing my the games I develope to be Linux based and just portable to Windows...
