Most of you know that Google is pretty much poised to become a direct rival of ebay, or at least Paypal. The fact that ebay also happens to own Paypal gives them great incentive to stifle Google payment solutions in order to try to prevent an loss of market share. This just sounds like normal business competition to me guys/gals. Why berate a company for protecting itself? Google suing Ebay for this would be like Microsoft suing Apple for not allowing it to sell Music through Itunes.
I'm not sure if anyone has commented on this yet, but Seattle has a great bus system. I used it while I live there and my brother doesn't even bother to use his car anymore. There are quite a lot of people who do what he does.
God you all are a bunch of conspiricy theorists. Just come out and say it. Whatever Bush does you hate, reguardless of if it's good or not. I'm ready for a civil war.
Anyone find it interesting how China got some of the source to Microsoft's code then a year later switched away from their software. Sounds like they are in the intelligence biz.
When I was in high school I had to take the damn bus or wait 2 hours for my parents to come pick me up, or heavin forbid walk 2 miles home. And that's the way it was and we liked it!!!
The web site itself is down, but a google cache of it shows a lot of good information on military and civlian tampering of weather. You have to highlight it to see it since the background is black. Enjoy.
But I'm about to leave the mainframe business and go after something that will pay me better. Of course nobody wants to go into mainframes! It is boring repetitive work and the pay is terrible.
That is simply amazing. It would revolutionize the gaming industry! You can play the new high end MMOG without having to buy a new computer! Looks like the best part is it doesn't look unfeasible! Finally all that advertising about online gaming and the "future of cable" doesn't look like so much flapping of the gums.
I worked at radio shack when I was 19 and it was the best job I could have gotten! There were books on EVERYTHING! You could browse the catalog and buy all the parts to create any computer WHATEVER you wanted. It was so amazing. I made my own car alarm for gods sake (a crappy one but thats besides the point)! Radio Shack still lives damnit!
I've been playing that old online game for 6 years now and still love it. It looks like doom and the NPC's look the same from every direction, but you can spank your bitter enemies down (or look like an idiot trying) and the player created soap opera is the bomb. (ie - Most powerful guild is brought to it's knees by a woman who seduced the gm and reduced him to an sobbing wreck thus spawning a large server wide war)
That game has got it goin ON!
I Really suggest game developers (and companies) take a hard look at the underlying structure of it when they venture out to strike it rich with their own online game.
And doom graphics are just cool.
They say that if spaces if infinite with an infinite amount of matter and energy then somewhere in another bubble universe there is someone doing exactly what I'm doing thinking exactly what I'm thinking and oh wait exactly like me. In fact not only is there someone doing all this but there are an infinite amount of me's doing this. Even though the chances of it occuring being 1 in a freaking huge ass inconcievable number due to all the events leading up to me being here writing what I'm writing right now having to be coincidentally EXACTLY the same. But they can be, an infinite amount of times. So in effect I am aware of someone just like me who is aware of me and aware that I am aware of him. Isn't that freaking cool? Not only that but if I pooled my efforts with an infinite amount of me's to do something chances are it would happen given the right resources, which there are an infinite amount of. Unfortunatly we really have no clue if there is an infinite amount of anything. If there is like some believe and we knew about it then one day contact could be made between people exactly the same, thus rending them DIFFERENT. You can't be the same doing exacdtly the same things due to coincidence after you have met that person. If I met another chris (Chris1) and I was Chris2 and we were exactly the same in all our thoughts and actions until that point, once we met that would all change. First off someone would say hi first thus breaking the chain. Anyway I'm getting off on a tangent. Basically if we were aware of eachother we could take steps to find eachother. Say I thought "hey I want another Chris to pick up a cup of coffee". Somewhere in an infinite amount of space and matter another Chris would think "Hey another Chris want's me to pick up that cup of coffee". This gets real crazy but it's actually not only possible but 100% probable. SHIT EH! I wonder if there's a Chris president of Afganistan the most powerful nation in the world. WOOT!
I wrote this in my blog last month and no I didn't really give a hoot about spelling or grammar lol.
When I went to boot camp (USMC) they placed a lot of emphasis on the fact that we could very well die and our friend's could die and to be prepared for it. I thought it was a very sobering and healthy experience. A big wake up for a bunch of kids who wanted to go play fighting games.
If someone spits on me or any other Marine I work with I will kick his punk ass. That aside they have the right to protest all they want and more power to them for it. Just don't call me any names for doing my damn job. If you hate the men and women who have decided to risk their lives for you then you sir are an idiot.
God I'm going to get myself some bad karma for this one.

This is simply a natural migration of low level work to the developing countries to make room for higher level types of work.
"Silicon Valley doesn't need to have all the tech development in the world," says Doug Henton, president of Collaborative Economics in Mountview, Calif. "We need very-good-paying jobs. Any R&D that is routine can probably go." Silicon Valley types already talk about the next wave of U.S. innovation coming from the fusion of software, nanotech, and life sciences.
We all know that everything new and exciting will eventually become commonplace and easily reproduced. That is all that is happening.

The second complication dealt with by the MUTS during plan execution arises when the user performs actions within the story world that interfere with the structure of the story plan. Because each action that the user performs might potentially change the world state in a manner that would invalidate some as-yet-unexecuted portion of the narrative plan, the MUTS passes all action commands issued by the user to the Mediator prior to executing the corresponding action's code in the game engine. The Mediator monitors the user's action commands and signals an exception whenever the user attempts to perform an action that would change the world in a way that conflicts with the causal constraints of the story plan.
If you don't think both conservative and liberal sides spectrum have their own selfish agendas you are living in a fantasyland. It all comes down to who gets the money. All other arguments are simply used for propaganda purposes in order to gain a good opinion from the masses.
Shit.
Honestly which country is more responsible: Israel or Iraq? Let's be reasonable here. Iraq is a volatile third world country who might pass nuclear weapons out to terrorist organizations. Israel developed their nuclear forces as a deterrent from these other Middle East nations doing something that would be rather rash. Israel is hated by just about every country it is near not only because they basically stole the land straight out from under Arabic feet, but also because they are an incursion of non-Islamic ideas and beliefs upon their world. If you think that the more extreme of the Muslim nations in the Middle East want peace you are sadly mistaken. They want revenge. Think of Iraq as a man with revenge on his mind on the way to the gun shop. For what reason do you think this man want's to buy a gun? For hunting purposes? Protection? Well he'll certainly tell you it's for protection. Psychology 101 says he'll even tell himself that it's for protection. But this man want's to get back at someone he hates not only for the fact that his enemy committed a terrible transgression against him (or his family/friends), but he also abhors everything about this enemies way of life! Naturally he's going to use this weapon on said enemy. I look at Israel and I just don't see that sort of behavior coming out of them. Call it my gut feeling. You can probably also call it the United States' "gut" feeling. The US also feels very protective of Israel. It just feels like the right thing to do to be protective of them. We relate to them just as we relate to countries such as Great Britain because it is a western society.

You sound like a divorsed community college english professor badgering his uncaring class.
This article is so narrow minded it makes my head spin. As technology advances new jobs will be created as fast as the old jobs are lost.
