    I too feel like I've been screwed for doing far more work than my 'position' warranted, and I was definatly doing work for others so my groups wouldn't fail.
    There was no real gun to my head so I only have myself to blame for the success.
    On the other hand I am afraid that following your advice would lead us to a Tragedy of the commons situation and ultimate failure: Lay offs.

    Isn't thei tax the source of funding for SSI?
    It looks like saying "I'm cutting the payroll tax" == "I'm bankrupting SSI faster than ever!"
    SSI is in the red, this will not help, it will hurt 'real-world' 'middle-class families'.
    This goes well past obfuscation and looks like intentional dishonesty to me.
    This will hurt everyone.

    But that is beside the point.
    What are the chances that all of those made in China net enabled thermostats have a default password and a default 'phone home' to a Chinese address?
    Sure a default non routable address would be appropriate but that too is another issue for several manufacturers.

    Sure, 'friends' tried to make me watch a couple of times, but it made my brain hurt, and not in a good way.
    Guess I didn't care for the show.
    For some reason I liked 'The Prisoner'.
    Was that English or American based on English?

    In Washington State yearly pay is is searchable online.for state employees, although it is 2 years old data.
    State school employees are state employees, you do the math.

    For extra credit; why are there more school employees than students?

    1. Lab assistants become attached to the rats. This interferes with research, no such attachment forms with a lawyer.

    2. Lawyers breed faster and are in much greater supply.

    3. Lawyers are much cheaper to care for and humanitarian groups don't harass you no matter what you're doing to them.

    4. There are some things even a rat won't do.
