Holy crap, that's fantastic. Maybe the added competition will light a fire under the Gimp developers' arses! It's just a shame Krita will almost certainly be hobbled by MDI...:)
And they rag on GNU/Linux for dependency hell...;)

Although I don't think you are *ever* going to see an Emacs compliant with the Gnome HIG (if you made the necessary changes, people would complain that what you ended up with was no longer Emacs), work is underway to make the GTK backend use XFT for font rendering.
In other news, Nazi scientists report discovering artifacts and human remains indicating that the human race did not originate in Africa, as previously believed, but in Germany instead.:)origin of the human race was not Africa,
keep it in a single directory (tree). Uninstall? Remove the tree.
Nobody knows what a tree is, nobody can manage directory structures, and why the hell should they have to?... Or just copy OSX, and have everything in a.app file which can be dragged to the trash.
That's exactly what the person you were replying to said.
You geeks need to get the fact through your heads that burning DVDs or playing games on a computer is a privilige, not a right. Normally people burn DVDs with a DVD video recorder, and play games with a games console. If copy protection software gets in the way of either task then you should consider purchasing dedicated devices!
Everyone seems to trust in the magical Skype encryption, but I've never seen any evidence to suggest that it's anything other than pixie dust. Quite the opposite, in fact:
Would [Zennstrom] make Skype open-source? No - that would make its strong 1024 bit encryption and security vulnerable: "We could do it but only if we re-engineered the way it works and we don't have the time right now."
I'm sure I remember lots of comments saying that the US government merely >requested this data from Google... why has it suddenly turned into a court case?
I read that most of the 'independent' papers in Baghdad sprung up merely to cash in on the opportunity to reprint paid articles from the US government.:)
And yet, the first two search results for 'xenu' are:

That's a neat explanation, thanks. I didn't realise the relationship between the 'strength' of a force, and the distance over which it can act.
Does this mean that there is an absolute maximum distance that a virtual particle can travel? So if I send out a beam of perfectly coherent light, my friend at the other edge of the universe* would never recieve it?
I always assumed that, say, the strong nuclear force did exist past its short range, it just wasn't strong enough to hold the protons in a nucleus together, or even to be easily detectible.
That's because most people are morons who would rather pay $7 for a widget that breaks after a year, than $20 for a widget that would last for twenty years. You're just lucky that WidgetCo can make a profit from the $20 widets at all.:)
Yeah, and since the concentration camp guards lacked the ability to prevent the holocaust, their actions don't warrant the claim of evilness? Pull the other one, this one has got bells upon it.
Technically it won't break Ndiswrapper any more than it is already broken. Windows drivers already expect stacks to be at least 12k, so reducing the stack size from the present 8k to 4k will merely expose the innate shortcomings of Ndiswrapper and similar solutions.
If they *really* cared then they'd implement something much harder to hack around--they could license Starforce for insteance.

Hey, I converted my inkjet printer into a terminal, you insensitive clod!

"John Romero is to developing an MMO"? An MMO what?

You seem to have me mixed up with the other people in this thread. In the future, I suggest that you make sure you are replying to the correct person.
The poor dear probably isn't used to the complex idea of 'threaded' discussion boards. :)
Don't you know? Normal person + Anonymity + Audience = Shitcock :)

We could sterlilise them and throw then into Coventry...
"Honour bound, soldier!"
"To Defend Freedom, sir!"
I bought a DS because I was tired of rebooting into Windows to play games.

Near the start of the mini-series.

If I ran a totalitarian state I would not allow search engines to reveal the fact that certain results were removed at my request.
