I like how you included the entire production chain for the electric, but completely ignored that for gas. I'm pretty sure gasoline doesn't magically appear in the underground tanks at the gas stations. Why don't you do a fair comparison and include the drilling, pumping, refining and transporting of gasoline too?
This isn't really technology of the future. Red Faction, which was released in 2001, contained "Geo-mod" which allowed you to completely alter your surroundings. Almost everything was destructable, including walls and the ground.
1. As another user pointed out, most people use a PVR to Record shows(hence the R). If they were there to watch it when it aired, why would they need the PVR? Normal users(myself included) schedule a recording and sometime after the recording has finished, we watch it. Same concept for the BT download. We aren't expecting it to be on-demand video service. 2. DSL bypasses the problem entirely since you truely have the upload bandwidth already allocated as promised. As far as cable, perhaps if more people actually demanded the bandwidth they were paying for, the cable companies would have to stop this false advertising. If they sell you a link that promises 1 mbit upload, you should be able to use all 1 mbit the entire time!
I don't know if this was supposed to be a joke or not. But either way, you can import your mp3's. I know I did. You can also convert them to AAC. While I haven't bothered burning anything, I assume all AAC files would burn properly.
Sorry, but I'm gonna have to disagree with that whole "best windows app" statement. Considering it won't even connect, it's not that great. Obviously there's a firewall here at work. Where are the options to change the port or use a proxy server?? All I can use iTunes for is to play music I've already ripped. I've got winamp for that! Stupid iTunes...
I had an old buddy that got out of boot camp 3/4's of the way through. He refused some training so they sent him home. I don't know what it was called, but it's not like it would affect him in any way in the non-military world. He also seemed to think he could try again later with no problems.
Computer Engineering, eh? While I'm majoring in Computer Science rather than engineering, I can assure you you'll get your money's worth at Rose-Hulman. It's not nearly as big as the other's you mentioned, but that has definite advantages. Average class size is 23 people. That means your professor can learn your name before the quarter ends. Also, you can find your professor and they will make time to answer your questions and make sure you understand things. Rose-Hulman is located in a city along with 4 other colleges. So you will have access to as much as any other college town despite Rose's small size. Give it a look.
As someone who is currently in college experiencing the financial "aid" debacle, I can tell you that it's not nearly as positive as you claim.
I come from a middle class family, two working parents. My EPC(expected parental contribution) was 30% of my parents income. Not to mention they expected me to pay the rest(on what income, I don't know). What family can afford to divert 30 percent of their income to school? Not one that's still paying for house, cars, gas and food...
Um, it's not in there. The AC just tricked the moderators who then modded you offtopic for actually READING the post and pointing out that it was screwed up.
I actually knew a guy that only played(piano) when he was drunk. And he was damn good. He had to have someone help him to the piano, but once he got sat down, he played like a professional...
Offtopic, I know. But an example that maybe most musicians don't play worse when drunk...
Some of us gamers actually make our own money and decide that a spiffy new computer would be a good use of that money. Rather than wasting it all on perishable stuff like going to the movie theater and buying $10 popcorn, going to the bar and wasting money on alcohol or any of the million other ways to waste your money, we buy hardware. At least I have something to show for the $1000 I spent building my "tricked out computer". Meanwhile, all you have to show for the $50 you blew Friday night is a hang-over Saturday morning. Good choice.
I think what this announcement is is for version 2 of Steam. Or it could just be that they reopened it. Counter-strike.net has a news post about them closing the servers because they were maxed out.
While online games may not be as social as real-world things, I think the point is that gaming is more social that it once was. Also, many games have voice-chat and so there truely is some social interaction, even if it is centered on the strategy to kick the other team's ass.
To label something anti-social simply because it's online is baseless and I believe wrong. To say it's not social because you aren't physically interacting is wrong as well. You don't consider that girl that spends 10 hours on the phone anti-social, do you? Why is it different if it's online rather than through the phone?
In the same vein, block all outbound mails that contain directly executable attachements. Friends don't send friends programs, and if they must do so, they zip them first.
Ok, besides hating the idea that my ISP would block me from sending whatever file type I want, did you not read the article or anything about the latest Sobig? It's files are zipped.
Blocking everything but zips would not solve the problem. All that would do is re-train the unintelligent users that click on attachments to first unzip the file and then click on it.
--Offtopic(but amusing)-- Yah, I was watching that DVD on my PS2. I was at least 7/8 of the way through when someone walked through the room and knocked the controller to the floor with it landing on the fast-forward(chapter skip) button. So it went to the next chapter and then began to play from the beginning when I hit rewind(chapter). For those of you who don't know, the PS2 only has one speed of fast-forward(2x it seems like). Plus it wouldn't let me rewind from the end. So, I would've had to hold that damn fast-forward button for 50 minutes to get back to my spot...
That DVD totally sucked and ruined the movie for me.

If they did that, they would be reporting that every 1 in 6 emails was infected rather than 1 in 12!
Ya, they deleted it all...

The judge in Office Space said that!

Rose-Hulman claims nearly 100% career placement annually. Plus, they're highly thought of.
As someone who is currently in college experiencing the financial "aid" debacle, I can tell you that it's not nearly as positive as you claim.

On a more pleasant note, my school made number 1 five years running.
no

The BBC article has more details. Also, the BBC article says they improved by an AVERAGE of 17% and some improved as much as 50%.

For those interested, you can view the commercials online. This was linked from a BBC article earlier this morning.
I know this is a troll, but it's good bait...

I was a little confused about this too.

Italy?

You ever consider that maybe you just don't know the right women?
I was at a LAN party this weekend. There were about 18 guys and 6 girls. Admittedly it's not an even ratio, but there were still females there.
Gaming and LANing is extremely social and many women know that. The females at the LAN party didn't game much. They were there to socialize.

Here's a tip to prevent the "theft" of your CD key: don't post it online!
