Perhaps it is a good thing that the game makers whos business model is based on a pre-digital/pre-internet era goes out of business. Obviously people doesn't value them very highly if they need to legislate their rights for sales.
Perhaps the problem lies in charging $50-$100 for a game full of artificial restrictions. I personaly haven't bought games in years, until i found gog.com who sells drm free games for $6 and $10 and no more (some they even give away for free). I've happily payed for a couple of games there, not so much to play the game as to support a company which I believe is doing a good thing - selling drm free games to a reasonable price.
If it's simple economics that if enough people get something for free, someone has to be hurt, then perhaps it is time to overlook the values of these economics.
I've been using Google Sharing, http://www.googlesharing.net/ , for a while now. Works very well. As with all proxies though, it just moves the point of trust from google to the google sharing-server.
So here we have spent huge amount of resources constructing advanced technology to send robots to mars to investigate if there's life there, only to have the evidence flown to us with a piece of rock.
I'm actually doing something along that line as it is, using gpg and small shell script. I've still been waiting to try out cpm tough, since it has built in password generation, multiuser support and some other nice features:)
I believe the problem arise when Joe post pictures of his drunk friend Elvis exploits on a massively public forum.
Does Elvis still deserve what he gets?
If you like complete control, and this is a OS X vs Windows argument, you should probably switch to a Linux system...
If there's one thing I hate most about Windows it's the lack of control.
I just realized that I totally forgot about the fact that you normally censor text inside a block of text, so it's of course possible to figure out the width of the censored text by its surroundings. Guessing the best way would be to simply remove the text you want to censor and replace it with [censored] or something...
My guess was that a law against bullying was established before the interweb came along, and now instead of changing that law, they made a new one.
I totally agree with you though, having a law specifically against electronic bullying makes no sense. One could just use CPIP to bypass that law.
Swedes are pretty used to governmental control and oversight, and we acually enjoy the benefits of it. Our trust in authoroty of this kind is strong since it have served us well in the past. I do not concur, and I know many who agree with me (disagrees with you). I don't trust my government more then I trust a stranger on the street. And I certainly do not enjoy my privacy being stepped on like a rug.

I've been waiting to try out cpm (console password manager), http://www.harry-b.de/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=harry:cpm , for quite a while now. However, there's still no working version for me debian :(
So, just cut someones finger off, tape it to one of the "keno":s and off you go! :)
How is this related to DRM? magnatune.com gives you the same service (download whatever you bought whenever you want, wherever you are) without DRM.
I don't grep it.
Yes, yes they should, and the article mentioned this. The judge did however not consider himself biased. Go figure...

Because "sane" and "normal" is the same thing (from the normal peoples point of view, that is).
(double)spike1
I typecasted you!

So, you make your rectangle a (random) couple of pixels wider than the text you want to cover - problem solved.
You mean like the Trabant?[sic]
I see. Thank you for clarifying!

I'm _guessing_ there already is a law for nonelectronic bullying.
Did you know that CDMA (W-CDMA & TD-CDMA) is also used in Europe?
Exactly! It was meant as a joke, but some how it was modded "Insightful", funny.
If only the can was designed to have a lid at the bottom as well...
