The All In Wonder 7500 Does great MPEG capture. It does MPEG 2 encoding and decoding on the card, so not only will it capture, but it helps you watch a DVD while doing all sorts of other things. The bottleneck here is your harddrive speed, you'll drop frames if the drive can't take all the data. But a modern IDE drive should do the trick.
As far as dual head goes, the main reason it doesn't have "normal" dual head (Analog and DVI outs) is a space issue, if you take a look at the back of the card, it's full with what it has (Analog inputs from CATV, Input for breakout box, outputs to breakout cable). However, it does allow you to run a TV and a monitor at once, so you can watch a movie on a tv with the thing and still surf on your monitor, if that's your bag.
Anyways, I have an AIW7500 as well, and I can say I'm much less dissatisfied than the grandparent.
Anonymous Cowards, please download and un-tar the file before you fall for lintux's posted April Fools joke. The main.cpp in the tar.gz file from the site IS the same as the grandparent.
Of course, this can be extended to the question "why do anything?" Why not?
What are we here for? Some might say it's to breed, others to invent, others to expand our "empire." I'd argue that we're here simply to be and to do. Who cares what we do in the long run? Especially if it doesn't hurt anyone else (and don't give me any crap about the EMF this thing gives off, that'll get modded down for being redundant just as quick as this will be for being off topic).
Just let the guy have his fun -- there are much worse ways that he could spend his time/money/expertise (take your pick[s]).
Read Bias by Bernard Goldberg, this guy worked as a correspondant for CBS, then was ostracized by the media for publishing an editorial in the NY Times stating that the media is biased to the left. While there are right wing (and extreme left wing) publications, all the mainstream media are just to the left of center (whatever that means:P)
But light is quantized (photons) and yet they don't have mass... Or gravity... Gravitons would most likely not have mass either, in the traditional sense.
The situation was much worse with Netscape Messenger, which is the reason I haven't tried out Mozilla's successor yet: Messenger once ate a whole huge mailbox of mine during the process of "reorganization", when not enough disk space was available for this. So I would definitely be careful with Mozilla's Mail module, especially since it's not yet widely tested: You want your mailer to be reliable and not to lose data, ever.
I've been using the Mozilla mail client since release 0.9.4 or so, and it's been great. I can honsetly say that I have no problems with it, other than a bit of a speed problem when closing the mail window before the browser... But it's tolerable. Give it a try, even if you don't make it your new, default mail client.
Ahh, but he said transferring gigabytes of data over the network... On a 10megabit connection this can literally take hours, sometimes even overnight. It would be very convinient to be able to do something like swapping an external drive.
If you read the McAfee notice, you would have seen thatthe first the the worm does on being loaded is halting any and all running processes that match the list of files it wants to delete. By stopping any AV software before deleting it, the worm can get away with it.
Phish has been doing this for years; ever since their second show tapes have existed. They sell special taping tickets to every show and even have a rider in their contract that states that every venue they play at has to allow taping. As far as I know, the Further festival is one of the few places where they were not able to be taped.
I dunno... A 4 year old is far more complicated than any robot so far conceived. Just acheiving the capabilities of the child's opposable thumbs and dexterity is a daunting task. I can't imagine how difficult it might be to get one to climb without a special climbing surface for it to attatch to.
The thing is, it's becomming easier and easier for a "small", or even a large musical act to create their own album, from start to finish.
Recently home recording studios have decreased in price while increasing in functionality. A good digital 8 track can be had for under $2000 dollars. Add in a computer, microphones and various other paraphernalia, and it can all be had for under 10 grand. I know that's a lot of money, but when you compare it to renting time in a studio, it is pretty economical. I'm not sure about the costs of CD mastering and reproducing, but I have to imagine it's rather inexpensive.
What I'm getting to is this: The big studios aren't necissarily needed anymore. The internet makes all facets of the music creation process easier and faster. Promotion and distribution can be done electronically. The only acts I see having a hard time creating the content themselves are those who don't write their own materieals; the Brittany Spears and Backstreet Boys of the world.

Mystery Science Theater 3000
Hey, didn't you ever see the Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld?
All your computer are belong to us.
The -turbo option is the same as going into "preferences->advanced->enable quick launch" and it IS documented on the Mozilla web site.
Most people simply couldn't care less and aren't going to bother
Finally! Someone who correctly knows how to use that phrase!

I tell everyone I know that the capital doesn't have a McDonalds, that and that there are no billboards on the interstate.
I love VT.
In general, you don't want more results, you want less results, and you want them to be more specific.
Should be "you want fewer results"...
Sorry.
I stand corrected. Damned knee-jerk reaction.
Hey, hubris, get back in your box!
The blurb (linked to here mentions that Borland is going to announce C++Builder for Linux. Just a tasty little tidbit that needs to be adressed:P

If I had a moderation point, I'd kick your ass.
>>but how much MSN subscribers will know about that?
this should read, "...but how many MSN subscribers..."
You get fewer features.
In additon, here's a taping FAQ: http://www.phish.net/PhishFAQ/tape-qs.html

Even more importantly, where's the noun?
