I donated to this guy to help support his legal fund. What the FUCK is the judge doing on this case? Seriously, this is becoming a complete and utter clusterfuck.
I am a cynical fuck and I'm still surprised, this is just utterly incredible. Geohot has no fucking chance in this, with the way this is being handled.
Utterly ridiculous, his privacy is just being completely ignored.
It's called Windows standard user interface guidelines and I'm not even a Microsoft parrot. The top bar is for describing the name of the application and conveying what files it has open example "Microsoft Word - Chrome is a douchebag browser.doc" I find it a huge, stupid disconnect between the CONTENTS of my browser window and the tab identifying said contents, being 2 inches higher up the top, past all the menu and address bars? The tabs should be next to the Window of information they are displaying.
When you pull open a drawer in a filing cabinet, do all the labels for the contents of each file, magically hover 3" above the folder, with shit inbetween for you to read? - no, they don't and nor should my web browser. Breaking standards is bad - and stupid, until it's fixed, I won't be using it.
Then I'll stick with Firefox, it might get a bit bloated but I have my fingers crossed as hardware improves and they end up making the multithreaded code, it'll at least remain the speed it is now, while retaining good functionality for me.
Yes, I know they are copying the _ridiculous_ tabs on the top UI from chrome, it can be disabled in the default options though, no addon required to do so. Need my status bar down the bottom too. FireFox 3 needs only one thing for me. More speed, just more and more speed - that's it. It's otherwise, EXACTLY what I want in a browser.
As long as television shows like Friends, Everyone Loathes Raymond The Simpsons and countless other modern TV shows continue to present the man of the household as a clumsy childlike idiot with a very freudian relationship with their wives, frequently 'begging' for sex in some kind of way, then we're going to continue to have fucked up impressions of it. and yes, some people do get some of their mannerisms and behaviour from television.
Stop and take a look at society, it's not just games which can't handle sex very well, most of society can't.
No, what's nerdy is you wrote it as "WoW" not "Wow" or "WOW" but "WoW" which sadly in my eyes reads as World of Warcraft (and I don't even play the damned game) That's nerdy.
What do we do when Windows / Linux / Mac OS alone are 90gb of the partition though? Sure the OS will load quick but even our apps will need to be either on SSD #2 or the magnetic platter.
They need to solve this soon, I thought SSD's were the future until I heard about the error rate increasing as flash gets smaller:/ We're in for a world of pain over the next few years unfortunately. We're going to end up buying 1TB SSD's which actually contain 3TB of flash chips just to cover for bad blocks.
I guess technology will find a way but I've heard nothing thus far and I want a new SSD soon too:/
I'm going to repost an older post of mine, regarding twitter - frankly - fuck facebook (and yes, I have an account but those slimy assholes treat privacy and their users with utter disdain)
Twitter is one of the greatest new forms of communications in the last 20 years. My first 2 tweets stayed for 6+ months iirc and were just "twitter is lame" and "update: twitter is still a wank" or something like that. I didn't 'get' twitter.
Now that I do, I do not understand why on earth SMS still exists, this website / application(s) allows me to talk to people instantly across the planet with a 0$ fee (unlike SMS) and I can include pictures, links or whatever, I can use trending topics to see what is big in the world right this second! (yes, that's big) When someone posts "is that an earthquake?!" I go to twitter, type in earthquake and can have confirmation in seconds
Twitter allows manufacturers, famous people and important people to instantly share messages and thoughts with people. There is an awful awful lot of stupid and irrelevant shit, mark my words I understand this but inbetween all that it's amazing, utterly amazing.
I can see my friends have conversations - and yes they can do it privately but they can also do it publicly, that ability to see their conversation - is almost like being at a restaurant or bar where everyone is having a chat - my ears are tuning in (if I desire) to their conversation and I can at any moment join in, all wirelessly, all instantly - in any timezone.
I don't often praise things and it sure as shit took me a while to get it, infact until you literally have an account and follow a couple of people, I totally get hating on it - the interface is silly to understand at first, once you do get it - it's incredible, utterly incredible.
My only problem with twitter, or rather their only problem is that I simply can not fathom how they can monetize it - in any way. Google however purchased Youtube and I distinctly recall me saying "what the fuck is google thinking? 4 billion? That's stupid - this is googles first big mistake" - I mean there was no ads back then and it was 5 years ago, bandwidth is fucking expensive and they just paid money to serve up terabytes of data a day, why?! Anyhow: TLDR is that twitter should utterly replace SMS, without question, SMS is completely dead to me, all my friends with twitter I can tweet in seconds, it's a fucking incredibly powerful and clever communications tool, once you learn it, you'll love it.
I don't want my opinion on the web among a variety of topics to be linked back to me. I've already made enough mistakes using my real name at times I shouldn't have.
"Free Hat" is episode 88 of the animated series South Park. It originally aired on July 10, 2002. The episode ridicules Lucasfilm's digital altering of George Lucas' original Star Wars trilogy and Steven Spielberg's E.T.. The episode also shows huge criticism towards remake movies.
I own a PS3 (and a PC) - I just import my games, they are cheaper, region free on the PS3- and normally 50% cheaper (sometimes less, often MORE than 50% cheaper)
Even if I haven't heard news that the game is going to be cut for Australian audiences anymore, I can't bare to risk the stupidity. Example GTA4, no one (in the public) really seemed to know about the US version having slightly different sex than the Aussie version until a few weeks after release. Fuck that stupidity, I'll just pay less - have the patience to wait a week or two and enjoy my games as they were designed.
Labels are how folders are actually handled. An email would get multiple labels per folder.
So Inbox \ Client \ Project #222 \ Customer Name \ Visa Would get FIVE labels on it - and there seems to be a limit or punctuation limit and so on for those.
You have to remember, these end users need to use an IMAP'd version of Outlook. Suggesting they use plain old Gmail won't work for them:/ (and as someone who uses a lot of mail, I'd agree - Outlook is actually a very good mail client)
This is a bit of a worry, as I am considering moving a client over to google apps sometime eventually. I myself have a LOT on my gmail I should probably backup but I do understand it's my responsibility, even though I don't have one at the moment. I wonder if there's a simple sure fire way of grabbing the whole lot once every 3 months, anyone know a tool to do this?
Also since this is as good a place to ask as any, how many here have moved business' over to Google Apps for mail? I am considering doing so, but in my testing with Outlook 2003 the performance for latency,.. wasn't ideal - is there some local caching I can organise on my desktop to increase performance? or do Google app users just endure the speed issues?
Also, my real issue with google apps (besides price) is the way folders work, I need obscenely large folders for my clients unfortunately... yes it's an odd requirement but these people _live_ out of their email, all day long and have folders named like this.
Inbox \ Department \ Project #125 \ Customer Name \ Visa Process Inbox \ Department \ Project #314 \ Customer Name \ Housing information (You get the idea, really, really big folders) - IIRC Google mail / apps falls ass over when you try to use folders on it with imap (once folders get too big) - Wish I could just use 'normal folders' in this instance)
The call "solder" sodder -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mppc4ReOMw They frequently say "I could care less" They call people with the name "Craig" "Creg" (I shit you not!)

People, do yourself a favour, go check out this game. It's generic looking in screenshots but brilliant to play and frequently called a 'dark version of zelda' I've played about 10 hours of one of the zelda games and actually did quite enjoy it but gave up, in hindsight they most certainly are similar.
Some call it 'zelda grown up' as well, since it has blood, darker themes etc. Really good stuff, I finished it and rarely finish games nowadays.
Awww, that's ok - cause I would love them to! So I'll make it up for you.
Walk away chaps - right into the light.
No seriously, I was under the impression that was the case, maybe this time they pushed it too far?
and the lettering is something called "Cillian Braille"

I'm not worrying about Sony coming after me, I'm wondering what damn business this has to do with the case? It's just a violation of his rights.
I donated to this guy to help support his legal fund.

They are trying to increase the size of Mr. Spaces junk right? This is what scientists do yes?

Any moderators want to fix up this post which the chrome zealots are continuing to moderate down?
Thanks guys.
I can't get it occurring here in Australia. (yes, logged in)
I certainly will.

Not when it looks the way it does, nope - it's not the speed I was looking for.

I could moderate you up but that's only one point.
Telling everyone else to damn well listen to you is more important.
I love FireFox 3, it does EVERYTHING I want - just make it bloody faster, absoloutely as fast as possible, it's all I want!

Instigators of the glossy screen, the original laptop 'defective by design'
I think they've finally re-added mattefinish as an option though.
Until I played Darksiders.
