Maybe you mean "mentally ill" instead of "morally corrupt"? To me a criminal is morally corrupt (or there's something very wrong with the laws that gouvern us), but he's not necessarily a schizo.
Aside from this case, is it unconceivable that some people break laws that in their morality can be seen as unjust? Or do you feel that it is mentally ill to disregard laws in general? Was Rosa Parks mentally ill when she refused to move to the back of the bus?
They're serious all right, about getting your money.
I remember seeing another voicepipe headset, but the one I linked was the only one I found easily. I'm not worried myself, I've got a tin foil hat. Take that, RF!
Seriously, I don't feel I use a cell phone enough to worry about it, and I don't care for junk hanging off my ear or my cell phone.
No, I think you have it wrong. 4 DUI cases. 2 resulting in fatalities, 2 with serious injuries. In every case presented, the evidence was revealed after conviction, before sentencing. There was evidence that the convicted were engaging in partying behavior after their crashes. Under the circumstances presented, yes, I think the partying was grounds for a harsher verdict. If the photos were all from pre crime partying, and it isn't directly relevant to the actual crime, then no, it shouldn't be grounds for a harsher verdict. It appears that in all these cases, the victims weren't acting remorseful enough to satisfy the judge. He has great latitude in sentencing. What else do you use as a metric to met out sentences? Socioeconomic status? Skin color? General looks? The range of sentencing is there for a reason.
If you do something stupid, kill someone in the process, and then can't keep your fucking head down for a period afterward, you deserve a harsher sentence. It isn't that hard to stay out of dumb situations. Don't let your "friends" photograph you with a obvious drink in you hand (ok, one guy had a Redbull, he allegedly joked about his case, poor behavior IMHO). This isn't just about them, this is also about society sending you a message. The judge is representative of the people.
Not only that, but we used to have one example of flight rated Saturn V hardware. Of course, it had been stored outdoors for several decades, so I don't think it would be flight rated anymore. There are a few other bits and pieces of other Saturn V hardware around, but not all of it was flight rated.
It's still got a way to go before it's universal but kids now learn QWERTY at the same time as they learn to write.
If only we could just switch that to Dvorak. Not that I can really complain, but it is annoying to have to use a public terminal and they will not allow you to select alternate layouts. The fact that the letters on the keyboard itself don't match the layout aren't that big of a deal. But now I do associate certain letters in one layout with the other.
Thank you, someone understands the gang part of gang rape. If he's lucky, he'll get raped with a penis. If he is unlucky, a broomstick, or something a little sharper or pointier.
I don't care what martial arts you know, if several people want to get you, they will. I'm not trying to make fun of prison rape, I'm just saying that judo will most likely be of little use in that environment.
So when you say that you wonder about the competition VoIP presents, are you suggesting that it doesn't present much competition?
Yes, it doesn't present much competition. But I'm speaking as a slightly informed (I think) user, not an expert. I'm only speaking of my local (Regional?) area, I assume some things are different elsewhere. I'm in AT&T country, formerly Bellsouth (ugh!).
I might have replied to your comment when I meant to reply to poster, but you seem to agree, so I'll explain further. I think that the telcos are losing land line customers due to attrition and mobile. I think it some demographics (young mobile crowd) they aren't interested in a land line unless they need DSL or they want the 911 service. As I said, I get DSL, this requires a land line, so they still get my money, maybe less of it, but aside from the initial investment in equipment, does it cost significantly more to run DSL than the modern hybrid phone network? Aren't they digitizing voice anyway, once you get to the CO? Aside from cable, they still own the last mile, therefore they get revenue. In my case, cable (Charter) didn't cut the mustard for VoIP. They also don't offer any sort of phone service. I go mobile and I pay more. I currently have a cell that my employer pays for. I do use it for personal calls. However, the telcos also own the mobile market, they just overlap now. So instead of Cingular/AT&T getting that mobile money, Verizon does. So overall, I don't think they are losing much to VoIP. They are so diversified that they make up for any losses in one place by charging in another. It would seem to me that cell networks are easier to maintain because your exposed infrastructure is concentrated, i.e. you maintain cell towers and the few lines leading to them instead of a vast network of copper. Yet cell service costs much more. People pay more for the convenience, they expect to. The market even has room for mobile resellers like Amp'd Mobile that buys air time on other networks. But this is just my perception, I could be way off.
Is it just me, or does it look as though the Olympics are flush with cash. I think it is more of a case of, "we have a dumptruck full of money, how can we cash in on this internet" type of thing? There is going to be advertising, correct?
Have you ever been to a country that cares about their country and nationalism?
You mean that there are countries that don't have crowds of apathetic people who dream of living in other countries?
Can I care about my country without enjoying sports competitions? I'm sure it is a spectrum, some of us don't care about televised sporting competitions (or sporting competitions in general), though I am sure my bicycle is better because of sporting competitions, and maybe we are all better on a whole because of things like the Olympics.
insightful comment. But I wonder if your premise is correct, how did you determine that is how our system of laws is supposed to work? My own personal opinion is that some laws are in place for "moral" (read: religious based) reasons. Some seem quite vindictive, putting people in prisons for crimes that don't require prison time.
It seems that a lot of people are quick to say "there otta be a law". Well, if enough feel that way, there is a law.
I wonder about the competition that VoIP presents. Right now, I'm paying to split a phone line. This person already has land line phone service, I'm paying for the DSL on top of the service, splitting the internet thru a router. I'm also paying for VoIP service on top of that, because I don't want to split a phone number with someone. I've complained that the telco advertises heavily for DSL service for "just $25.99" or some such number. This is if you are already paying ~$15 +taxes and additional charges for the land line you are required to pay for, even if infrastructure is already in place.
I believe that the telco should offer (maybe they do...now) a flat rate nation wide calling service for what they charge for local. They are already loosing business to the mobile market (I think, I only have anecdotal evidence at this point). This is why they lost me. Plus stupid things like "connection" fees. I talking about already wired neighborhoods.
I had cable internet (without the TV programming, just internet) and liked if for all my surfing needs, but it had too much latency for VoIP. If the cable could have provided phone service (they didn't in my area) with a decent calling plan, I would have paid comprable to what I pay for VoIP (I want nationwide flat rate, because I get a lot of out of state mobile phone numbers, I don't want to pay LD when I'm calling a guy a few blocks over.)
What, did someone perform a study where they observed and counted men pulling out, and then judged some of them as "typical" and others as "perfect"? What's a perfect pull-out? A money shot where the sperm lands at least two inches away?
87% of all statistics is made up.
I don't know. I pulled the stat from Wikipedia. The statistic was footnoted. Look it up, read the study and its methodology. Then come back with your "87% of all statistics is made up." comment. My own anecdotal evidence is that withdrawal is an effective form of birth control, or I'm sterile.
This is about the same amount of protection as pulling out is a form of birth control.
Actually, considering that coitus interruptus has a failure rate of around 4% for "perfect" users and 15-28% for "typical" use I think that is a good analogy. The "perfect" users could be considered informed users and the rest might be considered the unwashed masses. What is the typical failure rate for AV software? Does it count if the user disables the AV software because the user is annoyed with its operation (scanning and such)? Granted, coitus interruptus isn't very effective against real viruses and other STDs, but as birth control, it is pretty good among experienced users. Those who like to get drunk and screw whatever ends up in bed with them may experience a higher failure rate. Those who use a "layered" approach will undoubtedly experience even lower failure rates.
Or maybe all weather scooters. Sure, they could be deadly in a collision with a much larger vehicle, but I don't choose my cars or vehicles based on worse-case scenarios. This is basically a modernized 4 wheel Messerschmitt or BMW Isetta, or any other of the various micro cars produced over the years. I ride a bicycle daily, I'm well aware that I could be killed by a Mini Cooper, let alone a Hummer.
Thirst for oil is fueling middle east conflict. News at 11.
I'm surprised it even got to court. Though I guess they allowed it to go forth, such that they can abide by their own policy.
Ok, to be fair, here is the correct link:
http://www.craigslist.org/about/privacy.policy.html
The first link I got from the craigslist home page. I thought it was funny that it was 404ed. The correct link I got from the terms of use page.
However, if you read the correct privacy page, it says this:
We don't share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
I'd say this isn't marketing purposes.
http://www.craigslist.org/about/privacy.html
And look at the terms of use, particularly item 2.
Was Craigslist expected to not reveal the seller?

also known as an airtube, voice tube, etc. Basically a tube to transmit sound instead of wires.

Once again, hyperbole in a /. summary. News at 11. Hint, it isn't a spy cam if the person knowingly installs it at their house, for their own use.

Hans has a black belt in judo, he'll survive better than another nerd might.
I'm sure a black belt in judo is the surest way to a gang raping in prison. Come on, it's judo. We're talking about prison.
