How exactly would selling drugs to willing buyers (a felony in some circumstances) be ignoring the rights of others?
While I hate the futile "War on Drugs" as much as the next free-thinking person, you could make the argument that since selling drugs has measurable effects on the communities in which such purchases and use occur, you are at least potentially ignoring the rights of people in that neighborhood to live in a neighborhood free of those effects. Where the effects are bad, I think the argument is pretty good.
The idea that "falsifiability" is one mark of a scientific theory is usually associated with Karl Popper, who put it forth in The Logic of Scientific Discovery. This was in contrast to some Logical Positivists who argued that science contained verifiable assertions.
How is Apple's own DRM method (i.e., the thing that allows iTunes Music Store to exist) like the patent for CDs? Not at all, that's how. It's not a standard. No one is required to use it.
Perhaps next you'll tell us why it is only right for the Congress to force Google to allow ads to appear on their site the revenue for which goes to competing search engines. After all, they're as much a "standard" by your definition as iTunes DRM.

The words are a bit of management-speak; if you're a manager and you give a go-ahead to a project, you've "taken the initiative in creating it." That is miles from saying "I did it. I came up with the idea and I executed it on my own"; in other words, there is no truth in the claim that "Al Gore claimed he invented the Internet."

I know it's faster to type just the letters, but you'd think in a thread with hundreds of posts complaining about the very concept of RBLs, at least one person would spell it out. I only ask because while everyone hates spam (though perhaps not with the same ferocity), not everyone can configure and run an MTA or is up to date on the all the latest lingo.
