PSone Diablo doesn't suck...the default controls suck (and some people don't know you can change them. Simply change movement from "Absolute" to "Relative" then enable "Combo Button"...that'll do the trick.

Did your friend have the PSone mouse? Warcraft II was designed to be played with that.

Besides...there have been an absolute horde of Diablo clones on the various consoles over the past decade. The gameplay works and controls are not an issue.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance. PS2/PS3. You might have read they thought of implementing combo character attacks, like a barbarian throwing a monk, fastball special style......that was in X-Men Legends on the PS2.

There's not much new in D3 to us console folks, and them hemming and hawing on doing a version for us....is insulting, especially since Blizzard was once a console centric dev house. .Personally I believe the reason that D2 never got a PS2 port was that Snowblind's first PS2 Diablo-clone, released only 1 year after D2...showed up Blizzard tech-wise. They simply couldn't release D2 on the PS2, looking like that after BGDA came out.

    This is BGDA, a 2001 PS2 game:

In fact, D3 looks pretty much just like a Snowblind Engine game...google footage of BGDA or Champions of Norrath and you'll see the resemblance right off. In fact PS2 owners played a game very similar to D3....9 years ago.

A lot of the dumb, cumbersome shit that slowed down the game so much that it was never actually used was in there because of him. And that Eastern Europe in particular is full of pirates because they don't have the disposable income, so I'm not going to be too mean...

After all, there are far more PC's then all the consoles combined.

And most of them are low end machines with integrated graphics. that couldn't handle a boxed game as well as a PS3 or 360 could. The vast majority of PC's out there are really only suitable for flash games and facebook games. Maybe some of those cheap ass click the hot spot nancy drew/explore the mummy's tomb as well.

Both the PS3 and the Wii have web browsers, as do Sony and Nintendo's portable platforms. So yes, people could read Slashdot on their consoles. I've done it on ocassion .

Console owners have PC's but many a PC owner has no console.

That might be the case in Europe, but probalby not North America so much.

Games like Deus EX and many other original PC games that moved to consoles and gave the PC crappy ports show that the PC has a need for a more complex but also simpler control interface.

I have a copy of the PS2 port of Deus Ex, it supports keyboard and mouse, though the best way to play it with is with dualshock and mouse.

It sill amazes me to see console games retail for 20 euro's more then the PC version,

That's Europe only. They cost the same here. You're just being penalized for not living in NTSC U/C land. Remember, although Europe is a big market...it's language and culture fragmented, unlike the US and Canada which can be treated as ONE huge market. That increases the costs for publishing in Europe.

I don't have a Playstation, so I don't know how the update process works, but most systems that I have seen tend to say "You need to install this update!" and only give a changelog after you have installed it.

Updating to 3.21 (and I assume to any other firmware from 3.15) is special. It warns you in no uncertain terms that updating will cause you to lose OtherOS and requires that you agree to the update not just once, which is usual, but twice.

    You had a choice:

10GB for GameOS, the rest for OtherOS or 10GB for OtherOS and the rest for GameOS.
