Actually WebTV's got some sort of wacky graphics chip which does a fine job of making a clear display. It anti aliases text among other things. Sure you want to S-Video or composite rather than RF but it's still a pretty good picture no matter what.

WebTv's real problem is the lack of a pointing device like a trackball or touchpad. That's why it doesn't do frames properly.

Of course the built in IRC client needs work and it needed a better spam filter and BCC (nope WebTV's can't do BCC) etc.

An improved set top might be a good idea but the Dark Lord of Redmond probably won't do it, might cannibilize Windows sales. There are lots of people who only use their computers for email and web surfing. WebTV was good for those people, though many WebTV's more advanced users moved on to PC's.

You see, there was a market for this kind of game, the PSone version of Diable was very well regarded. And when word got around through the various magazines and message boards that BGDA was a lot like it, the buzz spread. It wasn't because of the Baldur's Gate name, quite a few console owners weren't all that familiar with the PC games It was because it was like Diablo.

There are now four PS2 games coming out that use the BGDA engine, Champions of Norrath (with internet play), BGDA 2, Fallout Brotherhood of Steel and a Bards tale game. I intend on getting CoN and BGDA2 at least

So they have some sort of 'nix server there. They've got a Wireless B network too, as I found out while sitting in a waiting room with my laptop, but they've got their WEP enabled and probably have MAC filtering up.

This hospital was just recently built and serves a small town and surrounding rural area. The've got hordes of RJ-45 jacks everywhere, even in the cafeteria.

The secretaries have to be doing something with their time. It probably goes like this:

Secretary want's to play Bejeweled but the machine is locked down. Secretary plays around and tries to figure out how to play Bejeweled. Secretary asks geek son/husband/brother about how she can play Bejeweled on her locked down box.
