Don't flame me for mentioning Gentoo. but they are actually doing this. www.gentoogames.com
have a live CD with Wolfenstein ET. Just boot the CD, and in a while you've got Wolfenstein running.
Hasn't anyone else done this before?
Mandrake has never said that they'll work for nothing. Why do you think they started a company?
The only important thing is that the software is free, then they can make money on it whichever way they want to. Ads seem to be a fine idea, as long as they aren't too intrusive. I would hate for Mandrakesoft to go down, even if I don't use their distro at the moment.
The thing about Morpheus is that he and his family (The Endless) aren't gods, but sort of embodiments of the basic forces of the universe. In the Sandman mythos, these are Destiny, Death, Dream (Morpheus), Despair, Desire, and Delirium (formerly Delight). There is also a seventh member, Destruction, who no longer takes active part in the matters of his realm.
So Morpheus isn't a god, but gods are born in his realm, and come back there to die.
What I like about this series is that it's about these characters with practically infinite powers who nonetheless have to deal with very human problems. I won't tell anything for those who have missed it, but as the story progresses from a simple horror story (although very nicely done), to the real theme of the arc, I practically guarantee that you will be hopelessly hooked!

I've used Mandrake a few years before I switched to Gentoo, and I liked it in many ways. What i didn't like was the way they moved things around and put in 'mdk' directories, so you didn't know where to find things.
If you're like me and like to edit the conf files by hand, so you see how they're made and what options you have, this quickly becomes a nuisance.
Also, I felt that because they moved stuff around, many HOWTO:s became much harder to follow (at least when I was a relative noob, which is where you usually use HOWTO:s the most).
Sure, all distros have their specific way of setting things up, but I felt that they just went too far in their obsession to put the 'mdk' mark everywhere.
But hey, I haven't used Mandrake since 8.1, so what do I know? Maybe they've changed that!
I haven't played those games, but I think you seem to focus more on features and graphics than on the underlying idea.
I have a lot of modern games at home, but at some point I got tired of each and every one of them.
But I still enjoy Tetris, Breakout, the Rogue-like games, and those kinds of games.
Since I haven't played the games you mention, I can't say anything about them (who knows, they might be the exception:-) ), but I think generally those 'simple' classics beat almost all of today's games for longevity.
Actually, he's 'finlandssvensk', which roughly means 'finnish-swedish' (I'm sure there's a more correct translation, but I can't be bothered...). He is from Finland, but talks swedish with a finnish accent (I'm sure there are more differences, but I don't know them). Don't know if he talks finnish too, but I think 'finlandssvenska' (finnish-swedish) is his native language. Finland is in many parts a two-language country.
So, I'm sad to say, he isn't swedish (which I am), but he talks swedish.
I'm always letting out a deep sigh whenever I read something about him, but almost always he seems to have a point.
But I still think he's overdoing the GNU/Linux thing. It's making him sound like he's jealous that Linux has come so far, while the HURD still isn't much further than booting up. And it blocks people (including me) from seeing that he actually is very right on many issues.
Since they're only talking about the kernel, it's consistent with his wiews to only call it 'Linux'.
It's when you use (GNU) programs with the kernel that you have to call it 'GNU/Linux'.
I think he's too much of an idealist (or boneheaded) to get fed up with the typing...:-)
Will they take themselves out of DNS? That would be a hoot!
Wow, so much stupidity crammed into such a short comment...
Although if you pronounce it as you would in french, it means poo in many dialects here too.
why won't you just roll up and die, and save us all the trouble. You know that is what's going to happen, sooner or later.
Maybe they could have it on 'Court TV' on the web? It sure as hell would be more interesting than the Simpson case, anyway.
that's one project I'd never try to contribute to.
Egomania extravaganza!!!
I think the latest gkrellm reads sensor values directly from /sys, but don't quote me on that, since I haven't got an i2c board myself.
I meant 'Linus and Alan usually write'... Haven't had my morning coffe yet.
I hope the message gets through, anyway. But poor grammar often makes it harder to get people to take the sender seriously.
Well, does it? I want to put it in my 2.6 toaster.

And how do you write 'j00 have b33n 0wn3d' in Chinese?

Well in that case, Red Hat and Suse seem to have a bad understanding of economics as well.
Now put on your tin foil hat and go live in a bunker, please.
Wow, that's lawyer porn if anything.
Every boy's dream: your own game arcade...

Imagine the number of posts we could avoid if some AC:s had a sense of humour.

Stop that, or you'll go blind!
