ZDNet cannot be trusted to have an unbiased opinion about anything, since they long ago proved themselves complete shills for microsoft. I had to stop reading the site after Dave Coursey spent a week fawning over Bill Gates because he sat within 50 yards of him at a dinner.
That it's a good thing when you are not one of the 3 million people to lose their job under this political administration. The article does point out on very useful idea, that is vote with your wallet. You don't like how a company operates, sell their stock and stop buying their products.
Intel's vascillations have convinced me to go with AMD for my next computer purchase. Seems a good idea anyway with the Phoenix/Microsoft/Intel DRM plans coming up.
Every time SCO is out of the news for two days something else happens to put them there. Personally, I suspect they manufacture these incidents just to avoid their inevitable irrelevancy.
These morons at SCO have shown that they will do ANYTHING to stay in the news. I suspect they attacked their own damned website. Unrealistic? Yeah, so is every other thing they have done in the last year.
As usual, The Register seems to have gotten the story wrong. Other sites report he asked for $1000 (not 10,000) because he found the M$ offer of ten dollars for his name insulting.
I have to totally agree with one part of your rant; they have completely screwed up soundcards with the latest version. I have tried three soundcards and none of them work.
SCO should be reported Tom Ridge and the Homeland Security crew. SCO are nothing but pure Corporate Terrorists. If, as rumored, their extortion efforts are being bankrolled by Microsoft, then MS should be brought up for supporting terrorists.
Finally, commercials should be made with a supposedly wise gentleman telling his clueless lunch partner how using Windows or Office or playing XBox supports terrorism.
Who gives a rats ass what SCO says or does. They are second only to Microsoft in foot stomping and sand-kicking.
The only people conceivably more utterly worthless than SCO are any and all IT managers who suggest for a second that they should pay these people. If they get paid, a whole new era of Corporate Terrorism begins.
That's a fact! And RedHat now has by far the worst sound support of any version yet. Previous versions worked perfectly with all my soundcards - new version, none. Google "sound redhat" sometime, it's amazing how they managed to totally screw it up!

I suspect this may have been asked before, but doesn't all of this SCO crap sort of point to Apple owning Windows?
Well stated and very true.
all have bullshit in common.
Kinda just seems like poetic justice to me.
People seem to forget that Microsoft is bankrolling this who FUD campaign.
Nah, not pricey at all...worth every dime! GO OPUS!!!
Well diagnosed, Doctor!

I love a good rant! And, in spite of some over-the-top imagery, he's right.
Next question: Why would anyone have ever thought that MSN search would be objective??? Will people never learn?
