but now that they REVOKED the key have they not made it legal to post under the DMCA? I mean if the key is rovoked it can not be used to bypass a DRM so how can they say it does?
people prefer to rent movies than buy them. Most people only purchase movies they like. CD's might be the same way if RIAA had not lobbied to keep CD rental illegal in the USA
I am ok paying taxes on the gold I make on WOW. As long as the gold I make on WOW is an acceptable form of payment! I do not play 2nd life, but feel much the same way.
REally folks this is TOO much. At least in the case of WOW, you do not OWN your own character Blizzard does. GET REAL!
the "Solution" lies with us, or you rather as I am a reseller. Produce an open source hi def format that anybody can use royalty free and nobody owns. Pirates will distribute content on it, thus insuring every PC in the world has a player. Once adopted by every PC , samsung, sony, toshiba, etc will HAVE to make hardware that can also read it. Soon after major production co's will one by one tire of paying for useless DRM license fees. Then nobody will use DRM. MP3 format is (slowly) doing this with music.
no cuz for 200 bucks many people would purchase them for young children here in the USA. Kids that are 9 -14 may not need a better lap top( or be trusted with one) and also many parents can afford 200 but not 1400
REAL ALE Co. Rio Blanco, TX has perhaps the best IPA and barley wine style beers. Try Rio Blanco Pale Ale, Full Moon Rye Pale Ale they are the best I have had.
I will put up the best US beers( microbrews of course) against the best in ANY country. Only a few belgin ales can compete with the best Oregon, Texas and a few other states have to offer.
the easiest way is to use computer voting for the election. Let the computer generate a numbered( but no name connected to the number) stamp on each ballot. when you leave you put the "reciept" in the ballot box. The paper vote reciepts are then counted like old fashioned paper ballots to "certify" the election. This would have the advantages of instant real time vote tabulation with NONE of the additional security risks.
Oddly enough the ATM's the company already make use almost the exact method of error checking. Who here does not LOOK at the ATM reciept to make sure a crooked vendor has not debited you $600, but dispenced only $60?
no it is not ok. The proper safegaurds include proof beyond a reasonable doubt. This is included in criminal cases for a reason. WE take the rights away from criminals. We do not ( or should not) take those rights without being DAMN sure that a person is a criminal, not just accused of a crime.
no...police should be able to use the fact that you read the book as evidense IF they can find it out. Our country does not (yet) and should not garantee the police the right to find out anything. any requirement that evidence is collected(retained) or automaticly forwared to the police( or any other part of goverment) is a crime. It is unreasonable( warrantless) search.
hey I would like to get a copy of the icon...I think it would be cool if people all over the country started using it..it would make that teacher feel like a REAL dick..he is after all...and show support for free speech
well i dunno about that state..here in Texas, a threat must be able to be carried out and a reasonable person must believe that it is likely to be carried out.
Examples:
"I hate you so bad I am gonna kill you with my mutant mind powers" would not be a threat because it can not be carried out.
"I'm going to murder you" uttered on the football field at the opposing teams quarterback would also not be a threat, unless some special circumnstances applied.
N. H. Rev. Stat. Ann. 570-A:2: It is a felony to intercept, or disclose the contents of, any telecommunication or oral communication without the consent of all parties. However, it is a misdemeanor for a party to a communication, or anyone who has the consent of only one of the parties, to intercept a telecommunication or oral communication.
Civil damages are expressly authorized for unlawful interceptions for the greater of actual damages, $100 a day for each day of violation, or $1,000 in addition to punitive damages, attorney fees and litigation costs. N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. 570-A:11.
Use of a hidden camera in a private place without the consent "of the persons entitled to privacy therein" is a misdemeanor. N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. 644:9. A classroom was not a private place where a school custodian could reasonably expect to be safe from video surveillance. State v. McLellan, 744 A.2d 611 (N.H. 1999).

Notice the phrase "of the persons entitled to privacy therein" NO WAY can that apply to the cop on the doorstep.
besides HOW could a public official have ANY expectation of privacy while conducted his duty. Is not the conduction of any public service on the taxpayers dime by nature public? Even if the cop was in a men's room, he should not have any expectation of privacy while questioning a suspect or citizen.
in many states a burgular can be legally assumed to be thretening to a person in the house and responded to as such. Also in many states( texas is one) you can use any force needed to defend not only your person( or the person of another) but also your property. In otherwords if a a person was not intending to use for on your person, but intent on stealing OR damaging your property, you can use deadly force if needed to stop that person.
the problem is that i can only connect to a limtied number of sites at a time. I pay time warner cable to connect to those sites. The hosts of those( porn?) sites pay there connetion fees. For the most part tiered service is selling me my own bandwidth, no matter how you look at it.
The big issue is with the large back bone connections. The people in "the middle" not payed by me OR the site i visit. As opposed to a tiered system, lets just find a way for those players to get treated fairly. My guess is they usually are BUT could get screwed easily if a few other places on the net started using a LARGE % of the nets traffic.
We have SO many laws to protect consumers. What about employees? When a company makes a promise( through and advertisement) to the public they MUST keep it. How many of you have had promises from companies that have not been kept? Did the state attorney general investgate them? I think not.
you are a sucker. Companies (through trade groups to keep it legal) gang up to keep costs(read wages) down. Gang up to keep them up if you are a worker. Unions are capitalism at work. People getting together (free assembly) to make a commercial enterprise work for them.
no if the machine is broken, the store is obligated to hand out a paper app. Most retailers(and other employers) will NEVER refuse to take anybody's application for any reason. My store ALWAYS has one on hand, although I seldom hire walk ins
I manage a small retail store for a large company(more than 1000 locations). Before bonuses I make more than many of the IT people in our company. I have been with them( and in retail)for 2 years. I started as an hourly employee. People at the store level(managers) in this co often make 6 figures after bonus each year. Health insurance costs each employee 7-20 dollars a week depending on plan choice.
