Used games are affordable. Most (smartphone/tablet) games are also rather affordable. Additionally, they're transferable between your devices (with the same account)
The hassle of transferring $5 app ownership is greater than the cost of just buying the app for $5 straight-out. If it's a $60 app, then things might well be different.
I believe that they hashed files so that if several copies were uploaded at different URL's, then only one was actually stored. That wouldn't work if files were individually encrypted.
This is completely unrelated to the issue at hand... however it is relevant to the parent:
A lot of people who commit crimes against children *are* people that have other mental/social issues. No, having such deficiencies doesn't make one an abuser, but it certainly doesn't disqualify somebody from being one either.
Two recent cases in Canada: a) Randall Hopley (abducted a child) b) Allan Schoenborn (murdered his three children)
They'd basically qualify as the types of socially-inept persons mentioned.
While some people are good at masking it, one must be mentally ill in some fashion to commit such harm against a child. Often such illness manifests itself as awkwardness in other parts of life.
Again, being socially inept (or mentally unsound) does not in any way make one an abuser, but at the same time it hardly excludes one from being such a person any more than does a businessman in a suit+tie.
I would guess that the author is a strong Java programmer, but possibly not so much other languages? That or he wanted portable (hey, it runs quite nicely on 'nix and windows with not so much fuss)
I did mention/notice this. I believe this was at least added after I returned the item, but - despite my complaints - they still haven't fixed the title which says "AMD Athlon II 2 235E Energy Efficient Regor 2.7 GHz 21MB 45W Triple-Core Processor "
"Amazon goes to extremes to make the customer have a better experience."
What extremes? How about the triple-core athlon X2 processor I ordered from them back in December... then returned to them when it turned out to be a dual-core. I bought the last one, returned it because it was an incorrect item, and since then they've have exactly one in stock again...
Now at least the description says dual-core, but the title is triple-core. I've called/emailed them a few times to fix it, and nada. Still the wrong item, until some other sucker buys it.
When I was younger, I was diagnosed with several learning disorders, including dyslexia and ADHD. I would mainly attribute these "disorders" to having a fairly crappy teacher in the early grades.
The dyslexia lasted until I got a *good* teacher (two, actually) in second grade, and was introduced to good books and the joys of reading. AFAIK I never had any issues reversing my letters/words, and the "special time out" I had to deal with my "disorder" really does't seem to be related to dyslexia. My reading now? Let's just say I have several bookshelves, including on that's about 8" tall and will need replacing as the contents are starting to bend the slats.
ADHD. Well, I definitely found some lessons boring (I didn't have any issues doing the actual work, and was often done ahead of time) and thus was sometimes distracted. The doses of Ritalin left me falling asleep in class, however, and were thankfully short-lived. Eventually they found extra work for me to do that kept me well-occupied, happy, and somewhat less disruptive.
Given the comments received on my last review, I'd have to say that neither of the above seem to be significantly impacting on my productivity as an adult (although my tenancy to juggle multiple tasks actually be beneficial)
I'd have to say I love your sig. I've never heard of that quote before but given my experience it's quite appropriate. People these days are so intent on perfection or personal goals that they lose track of letting kids be kids.
and this will be just the start. If it continues, then applicants will be required to apply online and provide their facebook login details at the time of application. In evil companies, HR will have filters that comb your personal media (OK, some already do, but they can't verify 100% which "John Smith" is you on facebook yet), checking every nuance of your life from race to political bend. Something that they don't like will get you binned even before the interview.
Which is odd. AFAIK, in Canada the government only seems to really care about tax returns if you owe (or they believe you owe) them money. In my case I've always filed my taxes anyhow... especially because the government tends to owe *ME* money at tax time, but I know others who file months or even years late when they don't owe money.
In one case the phrasing of the question may be too broad. The safest question is the one that asks for the minimum amount of information to fulfill the job requirements. In this case, so long as the person is eligible for clearance, you don't need to know anything at all about his/her country of original, just that he/she is legally able to do the job.
To be fair, part of the problem is that priorities are also extremely f**ked up. Many have piled on tons of debt to live in a house they can't afford, drive an expensive car that's twice what they require, and watch a home-theatre that they don't need.
As an acquaintance of mine said: it's a bit irritating and confusing to be stuck in a grocery line behind the girl who's paying in food stamps while chatting on her iphone...
People need to wake up and fix their priorities. As long as having an iphone, big-screen, and monster-truck are priorities, people will not focus on the issues of savings, corruption, violation-of-rights and other such things that need change before the situation can be bettered.
Would he have been expelled if he swore in school? I've heard of cases where a student got detection where a prof caught a student swearing, but unless he was swearing a blue streak *AT* a prof I haven't heard of it resulting in expulsion. In many cases cussing in school is overlooked unless it reaches a certain threshold...
Nintendo was pretty controlling about what they'd allow on their systems back in the NES/SNES days, though a bunch of unsanctioned carts did eventually make it through.
It seems they've managed to ease-up over time though, while Sony's gone the other way
Does it? The felony charge was dropped, which indicates it was B.S. Misdemeanour's are less notable in light of the felony, but tacking on extra - lesser - charges is apparently pretty common as it allows the police to come up with the "just plea to this lesser charge" bargains. I'd imagine that resisting arrest was at least one of the charges.
Mice also mature rather quickly, which is ideal for getting results from different experiments in a timely manner (as applicable to mammals, otherwise fruit-flies also work nicely)
As a Canadian - had I seen that game - I probably would have been torn between being mildly offended and mildly amused. That being said, it seems that Bush Sr was more well-spoken that his progeny.

Last time I forgot my password, their "lost password" page emailed it to me in plaintext...

I have one that was labelled as a 486VX.
I'm not really sure how a "VX" compared to an SX (no math-co) or DX (math-co), but it was clocked @ 100Mhz.
It ran "Doom" quite nicely. It even ran Quake... sorta (if I turned the screen size down to a very small window and set the detail level to crap)
Fastest 286 I saw was about 33Mhz... with a turbo button. Sometimes I miss the turbo button

It's not. It's actually a dupe as this same article was posted awhile back.
Not sure what that guy drank, but I think it warrants further investigation as some of the users on this site may also be drinking it... :-)

It wouldn't here (BC, Canada), and I believe they'd have a tough time enforcing such clauses in much of Europe, as well.

An acceptable question may have been: "Are you able and willing to work and travel within Saudi Arabia"

Why not just use a repeater instead? Maybe not as much geek-cool factor, but faster and less of a PITA.

Is that some variation on "rule #34"?

But as a PC monitor... 4K would be quite nice indeed.
