Because we can (ab)use this technology to identify brain patterns of illegal behavior. The identification would be fool proof, but who cares when you can catch terrorists and pedophiles.
What a crappy list. The first part is interesting. But that second half where they list all things that happened in the industry, world; or the things that didn't take that long. It's complete bullshit. I can make a list like that for pretty much everything.
When a product like this takes *umpteen* years without any kind of progress or even a measly status report, you have incompetent managers, incompetent programmers, insufficient funding, incompetent financers, inadequate workplace or ideas distant from reality. 3D Realms probably had all of it and more.
I still don't get that trail of thought. So, when a project is leading nowhere you trash it right? And then start on a new project. If that doesn't go anywhere you trash it, and start a new one again?
That pretty much sounds like Duke Nukem Forever. They trashed the projects a few times and started a new one. Except that they kept using the same name for the project.
I think the problem was that they didn't make enough changes to the production process. So they were bound to fail in the same way.
Does your school verify his thesis / homeworks of plagiarism? Today, probably, but they are done properly? Not much is known about the accuracy of detection of plagiarism, which is why we carry out a competition in the detection of plagiarism, which was sponsored by Yahoo! We created a body that is false plagiarism plagiarism plagiarism with varying degrees of translation from Spanish or German source documents and obfuscation. A randomly selected plagiarist who was trying to cover his theft with random sequences of changes of text, for example, delete, insert, replace, or shuffling a few words. Plagiarism is translated by computer translation.
The trick is not to rent DVDs, but lend it to people asking to recuperate you on diminished value due to wear and tear, and for the fact that for a short period do have to access to the item you own.
"pathological status was a significant predictor of poorer school performance even after controlling for sex, age, and weekly amount of video-game play."
Sounds a bit disturbing they were controlling for sex of 8 year olds.
And yes, they probably can get copyrights on the scans, even if the underlying material is public domain. Of course, it *should* only apply to the scan. So if you transcribe the words from whatever text yourself, you might be in the clear (depending on your own local laws).
How is scanning of documents different from ripping music from CDs?
Most of the games I buy are through online retailers. I prefer to own a physical copy. I don't like spending over 20 euros on something I cannot touch. (That, and I'm a sucker for collectors editions.) And I don't mind waiting a few days. Offline retailers usually suck, because it's a big mess. It's not easy to find stuff or browse through the whole collection.
My happy place is where users know what they want. Where managers understand the project. Where sales people only sell existing and working stuff. Where developers know how to write clean code.
Really? Guess you never heard of Windows 98 Second Edition.
That's why I camouflage the password. It's not a post-it with "Password: aa\x5Ahf". But something like:
"""
TODO:
- fix bug http://is.gd/av+a3ohW
- file header should be: aa\x5Ahf
- upgrade http://tinyurl.com/ov-eiP2o
"""
Or Prison Break.

I expect to see this meta tags on most sites in the near future.
Also, it's LEGO bricks or LEGO pieces, or LEGO .

So "What's the best camera for about $200" will work in Wolfram Alpha?
Each system is a tool.
So is the average user.

For the most part, the cheaters aren't all that bright, nor do they try to hide their cheating.
How would you know? The best cheaters won't be caught, but that doesn't mean they're not cheaters.
Nah, Randall Munroe is simply this century's Nostradamus.
It has the same effect, but the method is different.

Wiping your ass with pages from a book will also be considered copyright infringement.
It will only be used to block sites with child porn
and terrorism sites
and sites with info on building bombs
and "pro-ana" sites
and bestiality sites
and sites critical of the government
and copyright violating sites
and sites with violent images
and sites with malware
and porn sites
and sites with content that is considered to be offensive by some
and ...
ok, maybe you should worry
Don't you mean 5 Mebibit per second?
That gives you 640KB per second.
