I think you misunderstand:
by "killing off" some of the file-sharing users, the network as a whole will significantly decline, users can no longer find the file they want, and they will stop using it.
Maybe if just a tracking component comes down to the $25 range I'd buy a few. I've always wanted to be able to plop them in my car, computer, and anything else of value. If you hide it well enough, no one will even find it until it gets to the chop-shop. oh, shi...
I think the more important idea is the ability to communicate more intricately. Maybe if you live 10-20,000 years, you would see parrots develop a culture.
I agree 100%. All of my friends (who are fairly computer-savvy) run windows. I didn't give reinstallation a second thought when running windows, it just came with the territory: Gaming, so long as I give it my quarterly reinstallation. What I find so puzzling is that so many people dread the thought of reinstalling, even when they have no valuble data. How many people will cripple their systems, and then buy a new one instead of reinstalling? Even reinstalling Win98 can make it reasonably ok (please don't flame - in reference to strictly windows users).
The recent news that we can't buy computers without an OS (welcome to the United States of Amerikka), leads me to belive that MS is starting to get scared.
except of course from the Wal-mart PCs. Now, if only they sold laptops...
I agree 100%. One of my all-time favorite games is Tecmo Superbowl 1991. We even setup a series or seasons throughout my dorm floor, using emulators and save-states. By far, the best time you could possibly imagine!
I can't speak for you, but I've always wanted an easier way to control the top applet's selection and location. Alt-tab is ok for switching windows, and tab is ok for moving within them, but I would love to see someone design a joystick type device that did the same. x-axis for top windows selection, y-axis for selection within the window, and maybe a button or two to let you select links, or relocate windows. I do like to cange settings by hand, but if you're going to use a gui, why go back and forth between keyboard and mouse? Rather than having to precisely point, this device can let you fly through multiple apps, and if its attached o the keyboard, you can get the prettyiness of a window manager, with the speed and accuracy keyboard commands.
Clearly what they are going for is the ease of windows for many utilities:
network neighborhood
control panel
sofware installer/updated
general ease of use of windows
While I think that for the average linux user, this will be far too bloated, I wish that something like this existed when I first switched to linux. I currently use Mandrake (no surprise), but I am finding that I enjoy more and more the customizability of editing things by hand. I try to modify settings by hand whenever possible, and stay away from applets. Mandrake has done well by not confining you to applets. Although I would try this distro (if I had an extra comp.), I enjoy mounting filesytems by hand, as well as modifying XF86-config and compiling by hand. Something that other distros could learn from them however, is creating similar network neightboorhood client for browsing smb servers. I use Linneightborhood and Komba2, but it would be nice to be able to browse a server without needing to mount it first.
All in all, kudos, I hope everything works as you claim, keep up the good work!

yes, but the xbox costs MS money. If we all buy it, install linux, and never buy a game, they lose money.
I was using Xp for a single semester in school. I must have reformatted a dozen times. POS! Now I'm using linux, and I haven't crashed once.
...nevermind

How did you get one? They don't sell them here in the states?
Are their any alternatives to Comptia in the standard test area? (preferably companies that won't squash own freedoms!)
Mozilla wasn't formed from godzilla, maybe the logo at the most. It came from "Mosaic Killer" or Moz-illa.
Oh, and thanks for pointing out that mozilla.org is mozilla, cute.
...anyone even posted

Stuff that matters: no
Massive Discussion: you know it!
Sometimes the most cut-and-dry questions lead to the best discussions

If a company loans you money, and you get out of any personal liability, it IS basically free money.
Slimy pigs. They're stock has been plummetting since 2000. What makes them think they deserve even more?
karma-whoring finished
basically the same effect
There's a reason!
You think it's like opening a crackerjack box?
mod me whatever, karma can only go up from here.

give yourself a large enough monitor with 4 splitscreens, you're set
Gills would be fucking sweet!
Maybe they should just stop posting such interesting and delightful stories, so that all of us can enjoy them ;)

someone want to mod the parent flamebait? Don't read things that will seem trivial to you
Marge, they have the interent on computers now!
