There are tools for this kinds of users, such as Documentum. Tools like this you can mount as a filesystem and use with Word / Excel / etc. It might be expensive, but it's worth using the right tool, not shoehorning them into a tool geared at devs.
...any chances we'll get boolean column types in Oracle?
(Yes, I know I can use 'T' and 'F', or 1 and 0, blah blah....but guess what... the app I'm maintaining now uses 'T'/'F' on half the tables, and 1/0 in the rest.... fun...)
Maybe lots of people wouldn't be able to get them.
Or maybe prices would drop enough that you be looking at most people being able to get them. Given the nature of most electronic products, I wouldn't be surprised if competition wouldn't drive prices down so much that most people who have insurance right now, would be able to afford them (basic models close to what people pay right now for the insurance copay).
In that scenario (which might be too idealistic), some people wouldn't be able to get them anyhow, same as now people without insurance don't have much option.
You should switch to neutral. If you turn off the engine, you loose power steering, brake boosters, and if you go too far, can even lock up the steering wheel. If you're driving with a manual transmission is even easier, just step on the clutch pedal.
Well, people should be a bit more committed, and see the app, since it seems to be a big deal. This is probably also the fault of management for not engaging the employees more. Other than that, there's nothing wrong for putting out a good word for your employer. I'm sure every company does something similar, even if just by giving out shirts with the company logo. There's a fine line, and I'm sure plenty of companies cross over to the "wrong" side, but at least for me, it's not terrible, and to be expected actually.
A lot of these banks are public companies. Is widely documented that bankers were saying that their banks were solid while trying to get funds from the Fed to stay afloat. This was done to prevent a run on the stock, but it not only mislead the public, it also mislead the stockholders. I think this goes beyond neglect, and into maybe fraud. The Fed helped keep things under wrap to (hopefully) prevent an even worse crisis. But I think this is illegal, besides going against capitalism. And this is the stuff we know about...

Sure, I'm just saying that because Three Mile Island was very mild to Chernobyl, it doesn't mean that the US is invulnerable to a nuclear disaster. It has happened, and we were lucky. The Russians were not lucky. The Japanese were not lucky. It can happen again. But then I'm sure Chernobyl caused less deaths than coal mining causes every year. It's just a risk that we have to manage and live with.
Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where they go to China, and in Tiananmen Square they have a plaque that says "On This Site in 1989, Nothing Happened"
Does anybody have any experience living without the internet? Yes What major nuisances did you encounter? Lack of internet What resources should I put on my intranet? A router hooked up to your ISP Is there anything I'm overlooking? The usefulness of the internet

Let's push this baby up to 666 comments ! Gotta love freedom of expression.
... and society is already crumbling. Hope you know how to fish or hunt!

It's not only this. Insurance also drives prices up for regular consumer. If everyone paid out of pocket, I can assure you it would be way cheaper.
Dude, chill... It's only a new console. Now, if Apple were to release an iPhone in a different color, that would be real news!
The ending is just brutal, I just get the feeling of everyone hating themselves after pushing a boy to commit xenocide, even though they won the war.
Funny thing is, I actually though a lot less about buying my road bike (around $1200) than buying a PS3 (which I still haven't bought).

I hope they get rid of those two. Because I just lost all my faith in humanity. “I Don't Want to Live on this Planet Anymore”
I suspected it all along ....

Love the cursor animated gif! Top of the line 90s design, baby!
... Guantanamo Bay. Crystal clear water. Luscious beaches. What's not to like?

Yep, never have we spread radiation across half or Europe, only our east coast

It's like requesting the Louvre Museum to cover up the Venus de Milo statue during my visit because I find female anatomy "offensive" or "immoral".
but... does it have a blink tag?
