Apple would have to sell it for $3,500 a seat to recoup the costs of doing and maintaining the port
Not to mention lost hardware sales, but..
and they'd be eaten alive by piracy unless they spent even more money building some kind of kick-ass licensing system which would just get cracked by the script kiddies anyway.
I disagree completely. Just like early Microsoft, piracy for Apple could be a a very Good Thing. If they get a bigger chunk of the OS market, that's more potential sales of other Apple hardware and software.
You fucking tool. You really think that's all this is about? Go educate yourself, or shut up and go back to listening to Rush Limbaugh. Because, you know, rape and murder are no different from frat hazing.
6.1 was my first Linux too; the first and only distro I bought in box form, actually.
I'm having allot of fun!
I love this line ("Have a lot of fun!"), because it's obviously translated from the German expression "Viel Spass!" (literally: 'a lot of fun').:-)

they dont supply you with the source of the kernel your running
Yes they do. Sure, it might not be installed by default, but it's right there on the CD. Yes, if you want to do crazy stuff, go with Gentoo - nothing is more flexible. If you want a solid desktop distro, SuSE and Mandrake work quite well.
That's only export regulations; they don't affect what you can do within the US. It's a different and much more serious issue to restrict the flow of information within the US itself.
Interesting stuff. Given how much time people will spend mastering the intricate systems of various MMOGs, what if we change those systems so they're really simulations of the actual world? For example, a game where you can use your knowledge of real chemistry to advance. Something to think about.

But the clay tablet also has to implement USB, which could be difficult.
Better yet, you can just enable the XP firewall before connecting to the Internet. Use Windows Update until you've got everything. Or wait for SP2...
Incredible. Even CVS works better than that particular piece of MS garbage.
I guess you missed this, then.
Oh? Try using VPN a lot and pulling your hair out because of address space collisions.
No, no it's not. NAT is a quick-fix that just complicates matters.
Right. Just like they hacked Apache or PGP or SSL or...
Open standards and peer review are profoundly *good* things.

You keep treating your CDs like shit, they will become shit. No surprise there. Moron.
You're thinking of MI5, I believe. That would make the quote a lot less funny. :-)
Actually, it's a liberal/progressive news site.
Fine, and you can buy them. I don't want crap quality CDs that die in two years, myself.
I dunno, where's the pineapple?
Because that's not how real CDs are manufactured.
See here for example.
I dunno, $200k buys a lot of cheap hookers.

A couple thousand dollars would help, depending on how you're planning to do it.
True. Terrorists live to cause, well, terror. While knocking out a lot of fiber could very well cost billions, there's little psychological effect.
That's called Kuro5hin.
I assume you studied under Edward Teller?
Your hard drive will last forever too, if you fill it up then don't use it.
