At some point you should probably buy some books. There is a very complete Go Bibliography that will help you pick out books to start with. I suggest the Learn to Play Go series along with the Graded Go Problems for Beginners series.
From the Sensei's Library you can get links to find Go playing programs and also Go servers that will let you play go on the internet with people from around to globe.
Drudge Report -- www.drudgereport.com -- was able to force popups in Konq 3.2.2 for me. Haven't tried 3.3.2. Annoying...though the only reason I went there was to see if it could force a popup.
I didn't get popups at drudge with Konq 3.1.2. I've got
Java-Script enabled globally and the Java-Script Web Pop Ups Policy set to "smart".
Since Poland managed to delay the EU decision on software patents for about a month, this patent may backfire big time. It will serve as another great example of why software patents suck and it may be the straw that breaks the back of software patents in Europe.
I went back to graduate school after being an engineer in the real world for four years.
The biggest advantage my real world experience gave me was that I knew why I was in graduate school and what my alternatives were. This served me well when the going got tough.
The biggest disadvantage was that I was much less tolerant of the standard bullshit that most graduate students accepted without question.
Work your ass off. Try to blend in with the herd. Have fun.
I run Linux on a laptop with a 1600x1200 15" LCD screen and a 1600x1200 21" external LCD monitor. I use the Bitstream Vera Fonts for almost everything. They are available here. They are as sharp as sharp can be. I've been using them for over a year and I am still thrilled by how crisp they make everything look. I do have anti-aliasing turned on to remove the jaggies but there is not even a hint of bluring.
You seem to be missing the most obvious way that the Kaleidescape could be abused (in the eyes of the DCCA):
Storing rented DVDs.
This does not require hours of downloading or involve cheap bootlegs. I think the DCCA are addressing a legitimate problem here. If this sort of system is perfectly legal then once the price of the technology drops, either DVD rentals or DVD sales will have to go away because the prices of rentals and sales will be driven together by market forces.
Let me start by saying that I'm not a technical expert. Although this might be a handicap it could very well be a positive in looking at the issue of Sun versus Linux in the server business from a decision maker's point of view.
Later on he goes further and says he is "not a technical person". WTF. Why would anyone choose an operating system based on the advice of a non-technical person? He even seems to think that being non-technical makes him more qualified for giving advice on choosing an operating system.
Should I let a vegetarian tell me how to cook a steak? Should a let a blind person choose what color to paint my house?
His logic seems to say that the only people who are well qualifed to give advice in a field are the ones that aren't experts in that field. Maybe he is looking to get a job with SCO.
Your comments do nothing to explain the anomalous county by county results on the page that I linked to. Even if what you present are valid reasons for democrats to defect and even if a significant percentage of democrats did defect, the question remains: why were these defections almost entirely in counties that had system that made it easy to cheat while there was almost none in the counties where it was hard to cheat?
Now on to some of your specific points.
1) Kerry lost because he ran a negative campaign
This is simply not true according to Newsweek magazine which just ran a huge issue almost entirely devoted to a post-mortem of the compaigns. They say the opposite: the main reason Kerry lost the election is because his campaign manager refused to run a negative campaign.
2) The media playing us for fools over the 'missing weapons' that were gone before we even got there.
Again, what you say is simply not true. The The LA Times reported
In the weeks after the fall of Baghdad, Iraqi looters loaded powerful explosives into pickup trucks and drove the material away from the Al Qaqaa ammunition site, according to a group of U.S. Army reservists and National Guardsmen who said they witnessed the looting.
In addition, a local Minnesota tv station that was embedded with the American troops that first captured Al Qaqaa took video footage of the explosives. David Kay (who was once Bush's own chief weapons inspector) saw the video and confirmed that these were the high explosives that the US had been warned about protecting.
3) Someone else has already pointed out that you took Tereza Hienz Kerry's statement totally out of context and thus completely distorted her meaning.
I could go on, but I will leave it for someone else. You did nothing to explain the anomalous results I cited then you proceeded to make a series of points bashing Kerry that are simply not true. It makes me wonder if you believe, along with a majority of Bush supporters, the following lies:
1) Bush found WMD's in Iraq after his war;
2) Iraq had an operational relationship with Al Qaeda; and
3) Saddam Hussein was responsible for the attacks on 9/11.
In summary: your dislike of one of the candidates and your lies about him are not a pursuasive argument for me to stop trying to ensure that the election was fair.
Even if you totally discount the exit polls, there is still plenty of evidence that causes me to question the legitimacy of this election.
Take a look at: Florida Election Results which contains the county by county results of the election in Florida and compares these results to the percentage of registered democrats and republicans in each county.
Unless the people that compiled the tables are lying their hats off, it appears that their was either selective mass conversion of democrats into republicans in certain counties or there was election fraud.
This is not conclusive evidence of election fraud but it certainly needs to be better explained before I am willing to admit that "Bush won fair and square".
MSDOS runs on intel 8008 - 8080 - 8086 - 80686, and the Zilog Z80-Z8000...
You are correct that MSDOS didn't run on Apples but neither did it run on the 8008, the 8080 or any Zilog chip. It only ran on 8086 cpu's and cpu's that were made after the 8086 and were backward compatible with the it.
Shhh! You're not admiting that corporations are purposefully manipulating our language for their own selfish benefit by trying to equate "copyright infringement" with "robbery on the high seas".
The use of the word "piracy" to mean "copyright infringement" is about as natural an evolution of language as genetically modified organisms are a natural evolution of life.
Yet if I purposely do something I know will kill someone, I go to prison. If a company sells a product that is known to be dangerous (cigarettes, the Corvair) it's just fines.
What part of "limited liability" do you not understand?
Ssshh!! You're going against English Language groupthink that defines piracy as:
Robbery on the high seas; the taking of
property from others on the open sea by
open violence; without lawful authority,
and with intent to steal; -- a crime answering to robbery on land.
Perhaps Microsoft sees that they may no longer be able to make a lot more money ripping off other software developers so they're taking their software business model and applying it to other fields.
Linux support is sketchy for dual-view in my experience
I've had great Linux support from Nvidia. It took me just a couple of minutes to edit my XF86Config and twin-view just worked. The instructions were clear, easy and accurate.
In an unrelated matter, I had a memory leak that was associated with OpenGL. It was due to a bug in the version of the Linux kernel I was using. Nvidia sent me a patch for the kernel and it fixed the problem. And this was at like 10 pm (22:00) on a Saturday night.
I thought you were going to suggest using it to recharge one of those little hand-held fans.
That was me calling you with my new VOIP. Just pick up the bloody phone next time I call.

You don't have to worry about the water bags ... they will be made by Dow Corning.
Fire extinguisher?
I knew that Microsoft OSes cause computers to crash but I didn't know it caused them to crash and burn.

In Soviet Russia, women at bars hit you!
That's because they've outsourced their litigation to The SCO Group.
I just used up my last mod point about 10 minutes ago. If I had any points left I would mod the parent up. It really puts things into perspective.

Yes.
I bet they could still do it cheaper than NASA
Yeah, maybe so, but they'd probably end up torturing the astronauts.
