Is that all you* got? "Casual oversight" and, previously, "drug abuse"? Bad troll, put your heart in it, you can do better!:-)
Or should I assume you're actually trying to argue? You should learn about logic and argumentation first (Hint: Your previous posts were, uh, dumb**, ok?). Then risk you pretty karma (as if that was worth a thing). It's not as if anyone is going to set your house on fire if you're an ass and everybody knows your slash-ID, you know?
*I'm assuming I'm talking to the same person, or at least some with a close enough mindset...
** Would you've actually understood "fallacious"?
The magic words are "take property" and "without intending to return it". When I copy something (which is a technical necessity on electronic data systems, you'd have to actively destroy the original to "just move" it) I cannot "take", let alone "return" the original thing.
Let me illustrate:
If I came to your house (without doing any damage), carrying a portable photocopier, and copied a book from your shelf (without even leaving a fingerprint on it), then left again. Did I just steal the book from you? Or am I guilty of trespassing (your house) and copyright infringement (the books copyright owner)?
I'm not arguing "sharing" music is legal under all circumstances (though there are more cases than the Recording Industry wants everyone to believe), but it is not "stealing". The correct term is "copyright infringement" and in legal debates precise choice of words is essential.
http://www.videolan.org/, takes care of most things I need to watch (It's a bitch to install on SuSE, though), though many porn sites cater to their users' needs and offer MPEGs instead of WMV9s anyway, interestingly I never encountered a porn DivX. The other complaints I'll regard as humorous, alright?:-P
BTW, I still have a WinXP in dual-boot, it's just for gaming and it isn't the one coming up automagically...
Interestingly, for me it is exactly the other way round, I couldn't do university work on windows, I need a mature and stable system. But then I study computer science...
Hardware drivers that is. Taking the OS with you is only possible if it contains all hardware drivers it may ever need (Loading them from the "stationary" part is not a good idea, since all benefits would then be void), and taking only rudimentary ones isn't good, you need working scanners, printers, graphics, sound, etc.
And, to be absoluetely safe, you'd need to carry the BIOS on that stick too + have a way to determine there is no malware abstraction-layer between your USB port (that's where the problems begin) and the CPU. Maybe it'd be better to carry those connections with you as well? Wait, that's a mobile computer... How much sense does this make?
I don't want to start on how you'd probably like the hardware to work without a OS-stick inserted, as public service terminal...
You could go in the other direction and demand a minimal OS installed and Read-only, carrying only your home dir and settings with you, but then you'd need a unified OS, or at least home/settings structure.
In the end, all these options have their merits, but none seem too convincing to me.
I enjoy a Trekstor i.Beat organix, which, after downloading their firmware upgrade, does.oggs (Many of their other players do as well and they have a really nice collection...). On the downside (from iPod-POV): It's a flash-based player, aka, 1 GByte is the most you'll get. For me that is no problem, since I dislike the thought of having a spinning HD in my pocket when walking, jogging or rock-climbing:-)
Maybe in other parts of the world, but here in germany, from what I gather, it was largely recognized as a stillbirth. Pretty much noone even knew about the thing and even those of my gamer friends who own PS, PS2, XBox & GameCube all never bothered to have a look at the Dreamcast when it was released. They got interested later, when good games started to appear on it ("Skies of Arcadia" and "Resident Evil: Code Veronica", for example), but it remained an insider's tip.
I absolutely agree, while often RT doesn't apply to my groups style of play there are some real gems in it. Another nice source is http://www.gamegrene.com/, though they update slowly...
On a related note I'd like to point any worldbuilders out there to http://www.zompist.com/, Mark Rosenfelder's "Virtual Verduria", one of the most complete worlds, especially on language and culture, that I've ever seen.
Hm, I've been gaming for over ten years now, but I've yet to recognize a gamer who doesn't come freshly showered... Of course, if we decide to do a three day gaming marathon, most don't on the second day, but that happens at LAN-parties as well (And they tend to sweat more, because of the PC heat...).
Frankly, I think you're trolling on an inadequate "fact" (FUD about gamer hygiene), but fail because most people who actually read and cared enough to answer on this article already knew it to be stupid. I suggest you don't bother trying the "gamers don't have girlfriends" routine as well, my wife wouldn't agree and I bet my co-players' partners wouldn't as well... Maybe the "gamers don't get out often" might still work, but you should seriously drop the info about computer gaming at home then, because we have to leave the house to get together at least...
Aside from the fuckin' fact that ifuckinhateyourhtml ( a table, fuckin' aaaaaargh!) I fuckin' find that fuckin' idea fuckin' cool. Fuckin' thumbs up:-P
Carefull, the Sailor Moon Manga is quite a bit darker and more mature than the cut-and-mangled TV "Anime" Series you probably associate with the name. A lot of bad has happened to Animes before in the cutting room (Thinking of "Bismark" aka "Saber Rider", where the actual team leader (the guy in red, "fireball"?) is the unexperienced youngster, the bad guys aren't human and go to the "phantom zone" instead of dying, etc.)
What a lot of people seem to miss is that ES3:M was single-player only. It's amazing that it can rival "keep addicted" MMORPGS in playtime! (It felt more MMO to me while playing than WoW ever did, too.)
The "Outer Space Treaty" (Though the UN experts disagree slightly), illegal according to the "Moon Treaty", which wasn't much supported and probably would not be considered in case anyone challenged Hope on it. I'd assume these treaties are going to get revoked once anyone starts having serious interest in extraterrestrial property, but until then his claims are about the best you'll get, aside from the UNs opinion, which many here don't seem to care much about:-)
Better, congrats.

*Yawn* Back that up by posting non-AC and I might be interested... Until then I'll consider it flamebait, if you don't mind.
And, for the more graphically inclined, check out these:

What gave me away, the Beard? :-D
I hate to break this to you, but I'm male... Washu is only my favourite character I played in a long and powermongering AD&D campaign. ^_^

Who the hell added the "Informative" modifier to my post??? It's +5, all right, but Offtopic, Flamebait and Troll still seem to fit it better, hmkay?
Next time set the article link to the first page (pager.offset=0), will ya?

Congrats, you've understood the way I think Engineers think. Now go on and get why I think that's not what science is about.
like "finding out about volcanoes on Venus"??? We'll just learn from it, there is no other "use". You Engineer

I had a laugh, makes it worth to me :-)
You know, AC, one has to believe in the first place in order to commit blasphemy... Otherwise it's just trolling :-P
Du hast nicht zufällig Lust, irgendwo 'n netten Kaffee trinken zu gehen?
</just kidding>
