Personally, I hope the Revolution lives up to its name. I, for one, will be getting one upon release, while I will almost certainly be waiting at least a year for an XBox 360 or PS3
Your already decided to get a revolution without any specifications on hardware, price or even whats games are going to be released? Wow.
Going from the dominance of NES,SNES and N64 over other consoles to last place with the cube. It is a failure. If nintendo can't come back with the revolution, it will end up like Sega .
Analog stick invented by atari I'm too lazy to look up the rest but Nintendo didn't invent jack. They are ones who made it popular because there were the largest console maker for the last 15 years.
I love the tivo apologists. I also love paying $10 a month to use my vcr that spies on me. Oh wait I stopped service and now my tivo collects dust. I can live with paying for service, I can't live with my own device spying on me. I have 0 tolerance for spyware and companies that spy on their customers.
Not only did they force you to purchase monthly service, they also spy on you aswell. When your tivo makes its daily call, its sends your remote control click log back to tivo. So they actually know you rewind on every racy scene. They say its anonymous, but on the same call it sends your credentials back so it can get the guide the data.
Thats what pissed me off about the nano launch . There is was available product to protect the nano at launch. You'd think apple would be smart enought to least provide a case(ipod socks are crap) and even a clip so you can go jogging with it. They could have easily fleeced me out of additional $50 in accessories at the apple store if they had accessories for it. I bet the accessories have higher profit margin then the ipod. It doesn't make sense from a business stand point.
Protective Skins for the Nano. Found this while browsing some ipod forum looking for something to protect my new nano. BTW, you haven't seen such rabid fan boyism till you read an ipod forum. Say on negative thing(battery life on the nano is not 14 hours) and you'll have 30 guys/kids flaming you and the funny thing is half of them don't even have a nano.
Yup, say anything about a competitor being good and the apple fan boys will mod you down. I like how the rokr is supposely new. Nokia, sony/erickson have had phones that play music for over 2 years. Microsoft smart phone os thats on some manufactors phones plays mp3s and protected wm and those have been out since 2001/2002.
You can use both sandbox and code signing together. If wanted to write an accounting system that used plugins say for document export. I could sandbox the plugins to disallow network access and then only accept plugins that have been signed by certs I trust. Java and.net both support sandboxing and code signing.

When you sign an activex control you can choose not to allow scripting calls to it. XP is pretty weak when it comes to security, server 2003 is lot better, it actually forces you to whitelist a site by default before javascript and activex runs on it. Problem with activex is that you can't fine tune security, its either all or nothing. Java code signing and code security is lot better alowing more control over what the code can do which be set by the programmer, from what i read you can replace activex controls with.net controlls for more fine tune controls. I just never seen it done in the real world.
Wow, if you don't have a clue about memory management on an OS, you should really make comments on it. MacOS memory setting was the max size of ram that application could use. Had nothing to do with actual memory usage. Windows and OsX allocates memory to what the program is using. Here's a question for you smart guy, if windows or Osx had a way to set the max memory allocation, what happens if I use all the memory up and the program calls malloc?
I'm an so called early adopter, had dvd player before they became common, had hdtv before the stations even started broadcasting. There's no way, i'm throwing out a $3000 tv to be able to watch hi def video disks. Thats absurb. Right now I can watch all my hdtv movies either on HD HBO or HD OnDemand all going threw component outs on my cable reciever. Thats good enough for me. I higly doubt my cable company is going to require HDMI or HDCP DVI anytime soon.
For those unaware - Spatz-Tech's DVIMAGIC, while sold and marketed as a DVI amplifier, is attracting attention among the consumer crowd as an HDCP stripper. The device is placed between your playback device (e.g. computer, cable box, HD-DVD player, etc) and your display device. The DVIMAGIC then pretends to be a secure device. Once the DVIMAGIC convinces the playback device to send the signal, it receives the signal, decrypts the signal, and sends a bit-perfect copy of the signal out the other end to your monitor. The result is a pristine restriction-free copy of your content.
You can extend RSS, which means you add nodes to the xml document. The regular nodes are still there allowing backwords compatibility with standard RSS readers. RSS has a very limited capabilities, if you want to do things like podcasting where you need include duration, artists etc, you need to add nodes under a new namspace hence there's an Itunes extension to RSS.
Its like going to a doctor for a physical and having him perform some routine tests, but doctor decides to drug test you without your consent and report the findings to the police.

The new microprocessor will allow users to handle nearly 50 times more 3-D image data compared with Sega Enterprises Ltd.'s (7964) Dreamcast game console. It will also let users produce game characters comparable in image quality to Walt Disney's Toy Story.

Sony was claiming Toy Story quality graphics with psx2 before it launched. Hence the phrase.

Firefox doesn't release patches, they only release new versions. Unless you want to go download the nightly build and have things not work.

Umm.. Dpad was on Intellivision before Nintendo. Analog sticks have been around since Atari. Please stop giving nintendo credit for these inventions.

If you add another X to the product name, you'll probably sell more copies.
Yummy files? Is that the new term for porn?

Specs say they are disabling anything above 480p unless it flows through secured HDMI or HDCP DVI.

Since people equate spam to junk mail. I use pizza coupons all time from junk mail. I guess that makes me a bad person for supporting junk mail.

Blindness last longer than a split second though, its a good 5 minutes before i can see normally again.
