    Wow a hypercard programmer, thats was my first real development ui back when i was 12 unless you count world builder. I remember writing cards with 3 or 4 visual affects(barndoor blinds etc) and pretending i was writing some super secret cia application with hidden buttons and dozen password fields. As for visual studio, there's always a code behind option which lets you forego the WYSISWG editor and hand code everything, its quite tedious laying out a UI by hand, unless your good at thinking by coordinate numbers.

    Lets see ICANN has been doing this around for 5+ years with no problems or scandals. And then imagine if UN did take it over, we would see "DNS TLDs for money" scandals. As for ICANN being under US control, you should take a look at their board of directors, notice how Americans are the minorities compared to the total amount of foreign directors.

    As if you need another example, look at XML. Microsoft wants their own XML. Get real.

    Microsoft invented XML. How could they want their own version of it? Maybe OSS should go invent something for themselves. Ajax is another idea OSS stolen from MS. Webservices list goes on and on.

    Programming isn't about turning your dreams into reality, its about taking a real world problem/issues and coming up with a real solution. Good programmers don't do anything else but code. If you have a bunch of spare time to play games, you aren't probably aren't a good coder. I wonder if Linus or Miguel played games? I wonder if any of the gang of the four played games? I highly doubt it. I'm willing to bet if you polled all the top computer scientists in the nation, most of them don't sit around playing role playing sitting in their parents basement stuffing their faces with two week old stale doritos. Please don't lump good coders and role players together.

    How about being able to play HD content on unsecured monitors(IE: Your computer screen or your 2 year old HDTV tv). Both don't support this and this will lead to their failure since people are going to spend another $2g on a new HDTV or $500 on a new monitor(do they even make HDMI or HDCP DVI monitors?).

    Their patent is really on CSV files. If you read the description, you can see they are patenting storing datasets and used excel as example. Excel can ouput CSVs for neutral application portability.

    Why does my cell phone have less scratches on the display then my nano when nano has been in pocket for 6 hours at most before I realized that it that wasn't a smart idea. My cell phones has been in my pocket for 8 hours a day, 7 days a week for a year and a half. Apple choose to use the cheaper quality plastics.

    Thats big chunk of change to write docs that you can release the public. My cavium cards have 1000 page reference manuals. I wonder how much of their budget was required to write them? There's big difference in quality between internal documentation and stuff you released to the public. And if the documentation is wrong, now you have to deal with support and we aren't talking some $10/hr tech support guy. Its going be coming straight from the engineering teams time. For 2% market share for a consumer products. Its not worth it.

    Really record companies do nothing? They don't produce and market the cd, spend money on payola to radio stations so people actually hear the song? Does apple spend any money to develop 3rd party accessories?

    Xbox 360 bundles are already sold out at ebgames and other retailers. This aren't your $500 retail packages, we are talking $600+. Good luck getting an xbox 360 for under $800 right now.

    Windows Media Player has been included since Windows 3.1. Apple had quicktime since System 6. This was way before real even existed as a company. This lawsuit is about Microsoft bundling media player in windows.

    I made one mistake with my nano, I put it in my pocket for 2 hours with keys. Last time i'll make that mistake. I really wish they come out with a protective sleave for it soon, i don't like the ipod socks.

    Does the autorun.exe require user input to get the users permission to install the driver? If it doesn't it sure sounds like a trojan horse because i didn't give it permission to install anything on my computer.

    Why do people forget that BSA isn't just Microsoft. Apple, IBM,Dell and every other major software producer is a board member. Preston, Gates was lobbyiest for the BSA, i love how they connect it to Microsoft though.

    Thats funny because I'm using Firefox 1.0.6 which installed three months ago. There have been a few critical exploits released for the version i'm running, that website says there's a patch yet when I click on check for updates in firefox, it says there are none. There is a reason why i use opera because Mozilla security is a joke.

    Oh please,Exchange uses LDAP which is how 3rd parties applications like evolution access exchange data. Exchange also uses IMAP which is another open and document protocol.

    My revenue on google Adwords hasn't been all that great, so at least now if I desired, I could try a different option from a major provider. I like this and I'd hope to see more healthy competition between Google and Microsoft.

    What audience are your websites catering too? If its hightech(business software,consulting) use adwords. If your selling general consumer products use overture(yahoo). Just some free advice.

    Its already worked, xbox360 launch is going to be like psx2 launch. If you want an xbox360 when it comes out for at launch, you should get one now. You won't be able to find the next month.

    CD is pure uncompressed audio stream. Itunes isn't it. If your car supports mp3 cds, you'll have to burn it to cd then rip it back to mp3. Double encoding songs has a big effect on the quality of sound. If i had choice 9.99 for cd or itunes. I'd pick cd and then rip it to flac encoding thus having a uncompressed backup of my music which i encode into any format.
