No matter what there will be countermeasures by random hackers. If it is a software thing, hackers will make software to counter it. If it is built into the machine, there will be mod chips. I think the very nature of how computers work would somehow have to change in order for them to enforce this.
Yeah, I could get into an R rated movie with no problems until the Columbine shooting. Then, suddenly, all the theatres where I live started asking for id and then denying my under 17 self.... it made me sad.
I saw a short clip on letterbox vs. full on Turner Classic movies. I was shocked at how much was lost when it was converted from the original format to the full screen format. Entire characters would disappear sometimes. Since then I have only watched letterbox. It is the way the director intended you to view it.
A Microsoft guy spoke at my Information Technology class. He used to work for Apple.
In your post you mentioned that Microsoft asks you if you had ever worked for Apple, etc. Did you mean that people who worked for Apple don't get hired at Microsoft?
On a funny note, the guy had a file server in his house that he used to serve out movies, etc to his neighborhood. Said something like 150 dvd's.
In Wrath of Khan, Spock mentions that Khan's flying suggests 2d thinking. Kirk then orders the ship to go down something like 1000 kilometers and the battle is eventually won.
Imagine this being used as a weapon in war. Instead of the current psychological torture, where the music is just played really loudly, it would be played really loudly in your head!
I haven't liked star trek since about the time voyager clashed with the borg. It seems to me that there aren't many new trekkies either. It seems like all the current fans were fans before voyager. The Star Trek story may just need to lie low for a while and then make a triumphant return.
What are really needed for a hydrogen society to work are superconducting materials that superconduct at temperatures achievable in places other than a lab. Wind and solar technology is fine. We could build windmills in remote, but windy places and solar panels in remote, but sunny places. The problem would be shipping that electricity to a hydrogen refinery. That's where superconducting materials would be needed. Then we could generate the power in remote places and ship it cross-country.
blah
Also take into account parking. Imagine a huge parking lot, as bad as they can be now, and that is just with two axes! Add in a third Z-axis and oh man would it be horrible!
Unexpectedly Kasparov offered a draw soon after the sacrifice, and the computer team declined!
The computer team sends a message like "Draw declined! W3 4r3 1337! U h4v3 b33n 0wnzed by D33P JunI0r"
On the last version of Kazaa that I installed I could actually choose whether or not to install some third party spyware apps. My firewall hasn't found anything strange trying to phone home so I don't think any hidden spyware is forced on you either.
Someone brought me a computer that they said no longer worked. They were right, it didn't even turn on. Upon opening it up, I found what appeared to be rat/mouse urine stains and feces on everything. Everything had dried up. The feces were hard and rattled, that was the sound I heard when I was moving the machine initially. I thought there were lose screws or something, but NO!:(
It was VERY disgusting. I scrubbed my arms like a surgeon for like 30 minutes.
Have you seen Terminator 2??
I'm surprised the Atari Pocket PC didn't catch on more! You can use it to crack ATM PIN numbers!
Ah, good old John Connor.....
I was under the impression that the majority of planes flying, at least over the US mainland, never come close to the speed of 600mph. That it is more like 200mph. Isn't 600mph close to the speed of sound, not worrying about altitude and air temperature?

I was told that without computer aid the B-2 would be impossible to fly.

Information Services Manager.
There's an optional 802.11b link.
Could that work as the datacomm?
For me personally it solves the problem fine. I agree for a network, etc it's not adequate.
I have Mozilla 1.3 with built in spam filters!

Yeah, the only flaw I can find with Linux is the lack of games.
I would like to see more games built in surround sound, not more cards.

Wired just had an issue out whose cover involved wireless networking.

Not exactly an ad, but meh.

A couple of years ago a friend of mine had his N64 infested with ants. They crawled in the little cooling vents.
You can race a penguin in an all out sledding contest in Mario 64.

Good odds FP?
