Remember that they did charge $20 a pop for GBA versions of NES games awhile back. To be fair, they appeared to be emulated very well, with the slowdown and flicker intact.
If they charge more than $10/game, they're out of their minds. $5 would probably be a good amount and seems to be the going rate on Xbox Live Arcade, so I hear.
That said, the $20 I spent on GBA Dr. Mario was worth every penny.
I liked the original Valiant Comics run though they went into the proverbial crapper after they became Acclaim Comics. Curiously enough, one of their first books was the "Nintendo Comics System"
Magnus, Robot Fighter was one of my favorite books, though it went to hell after the end of the Malev War. The reboot sucked...the less said about "Slagger, Robot Fighter" the better.
I remember seeing quite a few full-page ads in EGM for Psychonauts, as well as some TV commercials on G4. I even have a deck of Psychonauts playing cards.
I'd say the marketing was there, it was just another one of those Great Games That Nobody Played.
The store I worked at did the same thing, but they went a step further: They removed the systems from the shelves and placed them off to the side in a display which was manned by a CSR, whom the customer _had_ to speak with in order to get a system.
"The study rates the world's leading game publishers' performance in several areas. Six different measures are taken into consideration on top of revenue -- annual turnover, number of title releases, average review score, producer quality, reliability of milestone payments, and the quality of staff pay and perks."
If EA is number one, I sure feel sorry for the guys working at the other 19 companies!
Are capcom_spouse and activision_spouse far behind?
How about we put some journalism into video game journalism first? The Escapist is about the only video game related website I can read without having to endure lame jokes, constant pop-culture references, and the ever-so-popular "attitude."
I have to wonder if this is EB Games' harebrained idea or Microsoft's. My money's on the former. With the EB/Gamestop merger coming up suddenly Best Buy and Wal-Mart are starting to sound like better places to buy games now. -shudder-
I'll second that, as much as I like playing Mario and Zelda games, I'd like to see companies take more chances. Occasionally something good does fall through the cracks like a Lumines or Katamari Damacy. Pikmin (also by Miyamoto) is probably the most original Nintendo game I've seen in awhile.
I wonder how long its going to take....

for McDonalds to buy a whole hour of the channel's time to devote to their new McCoronary sandwich? The hosts will all wear McDonald's uniforms, all logos will be red and yellow, and the logo on the lower right hand corner of the screen will be replaced with a Big Mac.
The problem is with the way the ESRB rates the games: IIRC, a few people watch a videotape of the game's "worst" (or best) bits, and rate the tape, as opposed to having someone play through the entire game, which would be time consuming.
I think the system is a Good Thing, certainly better than the one used for movies.
The boxart for Freaky Flyers was changed for the GameCube version. (see below) I don't know if the graphics in the game itself were changed, but the gameplay certainly could have used more time in the oven. GameCube boxart Xbox boxart
I'm just looking forward to playing games with a little more action and carnage. You just don't find games like Twisted Metal and Grand Theft Auto on the GBA.
The Movies in particular comes to mind, without the ability to render realistic-looking actors, the idea won't work. Of course it remains to be seen if it will work since the game isn't out yet.
When I first started this game up and saw the Sierra logo, I thought: "Wow, they're still in business?!" Guess I spoke too soon. Pretty good little 3rd person shooter, BTW.
Use some of that cash that's just lying around and buy some developers. IMO they should go after Sega, they are like-minded companies, and it would help fill a BIG gap in the Cube's lineup (sports). Some kind of online strategy would be nice too, but we all know that's not gonna happen.
The Ghost in the Shell game on the Playstation was pretty good, you cruised around in the Fuchikomas (the 4-legged tanks from the manga) and blew stuff up. The Fuchikomas could also go up walls and stick to ceilings which was pretty neat.

For the purposes of the study, was Klingon considered a second language?

Don't forget to set the VCR++

According to the FAQ, the game is playable via dial-up, but I don't think there are many dial-up users that are willing to wait for a 40MB download.

Not YET at least, wait until they get the bill from the hospital...

Am I the only one who cracks up when demos are awarded 'Best of E3' by websites?
You will blink for about 10-15 times during which you will be immortal...
Of course I eventually got desensitized to it and would occasionaly go on "let's see how many ways I can kill these little bastards" sprees

Most folks here in the USA can barely stand REAL politics.
But hey, if anyone can pull it off, it would be Will Wright!
