    I still have an unopened l33t tin edition for Linux. CD was shipped separately so it would arrive before christmas, so I never needed to open the tin.

    Even if you don't code, etc. this is a good way to help the F/OSS movement - share your bandwidth!

    The A1 fixed a lot of the issues with the original M16 - chrome bore and forward assist.

    Just look at the whole M16 period and compare it with the FN-FAL for an example of what not to do if you want to create a battle rifle...

    Not to mention frame rates... be nice to be able to get those big hi-res images at say, 10 frames/sec. Not motion video (that would be nice too) but at least fast enough to have a really nice "sport/action" mode going on...

    Strange - I've never had a browser related problem with WebCT (pre-blackboard days), Blackboard, WebCT Vista, or Angel from my Linux desktops. Always used Netscape 4.x, Mozilla, or Firefox 2+

    Not really - if that is how a developer prefers to work and get paid, more power to them.

    What needs fixing is the to get a few higher ups to have the will to dedicate a little bit of $ to it. Those big companies mentioned above may do better by working with wine and focusing on a wrapper dedicated to DX -> OpenGL/sound/etc.

    Don't give 'em access to USB ports - turn off in bios and password it. Remove the ability to add new PPD files, mount their home directory as noexec, etc. Let the network enforce traffic rules, break it up into different subnets with no routes between groups of users.

    Yup, VB is the scripting language of choice for the GUI dependent Windows world... lord knows I did more than a few things with it that could be done with bash, etc. on a *nix system.

    Also, in the pre-server side scripting language days (before PHP, etc) it was also relatively easy to do basic CGI stuff with it...

    Makes sense... a PC user can switch to Linux by downloading a LiveCD (or whatever) and installing or just running from the disk. A PC user has to buy new hardware to switch to Apple.

    Helped my mom buy a car long distance while I was at a conference. Sign on the in-room phone said "we charge you 110% of what AT&T charges us". So I think, gee, 10% isn't that bad.

    Well, what it really is is that they pass AT&T's bill to you, then they charge you 110% of that.

    Raised hell, got the whole call for free.

    Actually, the corals, etc. on deeper reefs (70-100ft deep, off West Palm from my personal experience) are quite colorful. However, color is filtered out based on depth. First to go is true red, happens near the surface. Then true orange, yellow, etc. until you get down to about 70 feet, after that you really just have various shades of blue. Until you go night diving and take a light source with you, at which point its all pretty colors again.

    For a certification dive I'd be more worried about currents than depth off an oil rig, esp. after all the pool time and very first dives in springs and such.
